Comic-Con exclusive LEGO Super Heroes

During the recent San Diego Comic-Con, LEGO has given away four exclusive LEGO Super Heroes minifigures to lucky raffle winners. The four minifigures are: Phoenix, Bizarro, Black Suit Spider-Man, and Shazam. Here is a picture of all four of these exclusive LEGO Super Heroes minifigures by Flickr member Vanjey_LEGO, who managed to get all four! 😉

The first Comic-Con exclusive LEGO Super Heroes minifigure is Phoenix. Here is a little bit of history about her, in case you are not familiar with the character: Phoenix is a Marvel Comics super-heroine. Her real name is Jean Grey-Summers, and goes by the aliases Marvel Girl, Phoenix, and Dark Phoenix. She is a mutant born with telepathic and telekinetic powers. Her powers first manifested when she saw her childhood friend being hit by a car. Jean is an important figure in the lives of other Marvel characters, mostly the X-Men, including her husband Cyclops; her mentor and father-figure Charles Xavier; her close friend and sometimes romantic interest Wolverine; her best friend and sister-like figure Storm; and her genetic children Rachel Summers, X-Man, Cable, and Stryfe.

Here are a few more pictures of Phoenix, along with a picture of the original Marvel Comics character. (Phoenix minifigure pictures by Andrew Clapham.)

The second Comic-Con exclusive LEGO Super Heroes minifigure is Bizarro. Bizarro is from the DC Universe comics. He was created as a mirror-image of Superman, with opposite powers to Superman. He often appears as an antagonist to Superman, though not always. Being a mirror-image he has a strange speech-pattern where all of his comments mean the opposite as in normal speech (i.e. “good” means “bad”). His face has a grotesque, Frankenstein-like appearance.

Here are a few more pictures of Bizarro, along with a picture of the original DC Comics character. (Bizarro minifigure by Andrew Clapham.)

And here is a great picture of the Superman vs. his mirror-image, Bizarro (photo by Vanjey_LEGO). They look great together, aren’t they? 😀

The last two Comic-Con exclusive LEGO Super Heroes minifigures are Black-Suit Spider-Man and Shazam. The black Spider-Man suit is from the Spider-Man: Back in Black Marvel Comics series. The story is about Spider-Man’s anger and determination to find Aunt May’s shooter. Shazam (a.k.a. Captain Marvel) is a super-hero from the DC Universe comics. Captain marvel is the alter-ego of Billy Batson, who is struck by a magic lightning bolt that transforms him into an adult super-hero with supernatural powers whenever he says “Shazam”.

Below is episode fifteen of the LEGO NINJAGO story, which is the continuation of the previous episodes of LEGO NINJAGO Rise of the Snakes. This NINJAGO episode is called “PIRATES VS. NINJA”. The episode may also be referred to as NINJAGO Season 3 – Episode 2, or NINJAGO Masters of Spinjitzu Episode 15 (the official title), or NINJAGO Rise of the Snakes Episode 15, or NINJAGO Darkness Shall Rise – Episode 2. Whichever you prefer. 😉

You can see the first trailer for this season’s episodes here: LEGO NINJAGO – Season 3 Trailer. And the second, extended trailer with episode-summaries here: LEGO NINJAGO Season 3 – New Trailer!

The story continues where it left off in the last season; the Great Devourer has been destroyed, but Lord Garmadon and the snakes are still a threat. The ninja now focus on training Lloyd, while Garmadon’s goal is to destroy the ninja once and for all. What will be the outcome? 😉
