If you ever decide to travel to Hong Kong, you might be disappointed to find out that there are no LEGO stores in the city. However, you could find LEGO products in Toys’R’Us or local department stores. I’m a huge LEGO minifigure fan and as I don’t have much room to display LEGO sets in my home, so I find it a nuisance to have to buy whole LEGO sets in order to get the minifigures included. 😐

However what Hong Kong lacks in terms of LEGO stores, it has more than made up by having a mall fully dedicated to toys with 70-80% of stores selling nothing but LEGO! For me, when I discovered this LEGO paradise, I was more than excited… I was ecstatic! This is because not only do these stores sell new and hard-to-find LEGO sets, they also sell minifigures that are usually in the boxes without actually needing to buy the LEGO bricks that come with them.

If you’re like me and only collect minifigures, then this is truly LEGO heaven! You can browse through different stores all under one roof and compare prices and selection. But the best thing is that I don’t have to spend tons of money to buy sets just to get the minifigures. All the staff in the stores speak English, so communication would not pose a problem, if it does you can always point. 😉

Hong Kong is one of the fastest countries in Asia to receive the newest LEGO products at a very reasonable price. I went there on April 23rd and they already had the LEGO Super Heroes Captain America’s Avenging Cycle and Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown for sale.

If you’re a fan of the LEGO minifigure series and don’t like guessing what’s in each bag – and annoyed by getting duplicates – then you can buy the entire set here. I bought the whole set of series 7 and it only cost me USD$41, even cheaper than if I had bought them individually. That leaves me money that I saved from getting duplicates to buy other minifigures. 😛

So if you ever plan on travelling to Hong Kong, make sure you visit this mall. The name of the mall is “In’s Point” in the Yau Ma Tei area. Make sure you bring a calculator, a notebook, a shopping-list (with prices from your own country so you can compare prices), and lots of cash if you plan on going on a shopping spree. The fixed exchange rate of USD to HKD is $7.8, so USD$1 = HKD$7.8.

On the down side, every time I go there, I never leave empty handed and I always buy too many things. Below is what I got on my visit to take photos of the mall. I would also like to note that I had to risk my life to take these photos as store management doesn’t allow photos (I think). 🙄
