November 2022 – New LEGO Sets & Promotions

November/December is always a special time for LEGO fans. Displaying the LEGO Winter Village sets, shopping for gifts, looking for bargains, checking out all the new sets, and browsing through the LEGO shop pages with longing.

This month, there are a couple of promotional items you can get. The #5007622 LEGO Fleece Blanket features iconic LEGO colors and designs with a soft and cuddly feel. It’s even packaged with a red ribbon for easy gift-giving! This offer is valid with purchases of $200 or more until November 11th at the Online LEGO Shop. And you can add a little extra magic to any build with the #40512 LEGO Fun & Funky VIP Add-On Pack. This offer is valid with purchases of $50 or more until November 18th at the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO is also offering two sets with Double VIP Points this month. The #41961 LEGO DOTS Designer Toolkit – Patterns with 1,096 pieces in beautiful colors and with plenty of design possibilities. The other set with Double VIP points is the #42139 LEGO Technic All-Terrain Vehicle with realistic details like an engine with moving pistons, a 2-shift (+ neutral) gearbox, a winch, and a tipping cargo bed.

Although it was released last month, I wanted to mention the #10308 LEGO Winter Village Holiday Main Street again, as it is such a sweet set. It includes two shops and apartments decorated with rich details and lively colors, a cute tram, a festive Christmas tree, happy minifigs, and various holiday accessories. It is available at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Another new seasonal set is the #40573 LEGO Christmas Tree. The colorful tree is adorned with ornaments and candles and sits on a decorative mat built with LEGO plates and tiles. This is a 2-in-1 model, and you can choose to build 1 tree or 2 smaller trees. This set is also available at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

A brand new set this month is the #21337 LEGO Ideas Table Football. Measuring over 6 in. (15 cm) high, 16 in. (41 cm) wide, and 10 in. (29 cm) deep, you can play it anywhere with anyone. This compact table game has 2 rods on each side so up to 4 people can play a game at once. The set includes 22 minifigures (11 for each team), with 44 different heads and 43 hairstyles so you can customize the look of each character. Each team has a goalie, 2 defenders, and 2 strikers, and you can fill the grandstand with the rest of the minifigs. There are also color-coded sliding knobs above each goal so players can keep score. We will talk about this set in more detail later this week. In the meantime, you can find it at the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Another brand new set is the massive #76210 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Hulkbuster with 4,049 pieces and standing over 20.5 in. (52 cm) tall. It captures the scale and power of the Hulkbuster MK44 from Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Age of Ultron, featuring a multitude of movie-accurate features. Within the dark-red armor and strategically positioned golden plates lies a spacious cockpit, from which the #76206 LEGO Marvel Iron Man Figure (sold separately) can control the heavy-duty armor. The set also includes an information plate and a Tony Stark minifigure. Available at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Other exciting new sets you might consider this holiday season are the #21335 LEGO Ideas Motorized Lighthouse, the #21058 LEGO Architecture Great Pyramid of Giza, the #10305 LEGO Lion Knights’ Castle, the #76215 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Black Panther sculpture, the #75331 LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Razor Crest, and many more. To see them all, visit the new items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

As we get closer to Thanksgiving and beyond, we can also look forward to more holiday sets and specials. We will talk about those as we get closer to the end of the month. In the meantime, feel free to share your own holiday wish-list in the comment section below!

LEGO MINDSTORMS Discontinued Soon…

A few days ago, the following information was shared on the LEGO Ambassador Network about the future of LEGO MINDSTORMS. I know that this is affecting both adult LEGO MINDSTORMS fans and young LEGO robotics club members. If you would like to discuss this news, feel free to share in the comment section below.

Since its launch in September 1998, LEGO MINDSTORMS has been one of the core ‘Build & Code’ experiences in the company’s portfolio, carrying with it significant brand equity and becoming a stand-out experience for the early days of consumer robotics and leading to current Build & Code experiences such as SPIKE Prime, from LEGO Education’s LEGO Learning System.

However, now having a number of priorities in LEGO Education and other Build & Code experiences, we have decided to focus our resources and future plans by redirecting our MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor team and their expertise into different areas of the business.

This means the physical MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor product (#51515) and its related elements (#88016 LEGO Large Hub, and #88018 LEGO Medium Angular Motor) are to exit our portfolio from the end of 2022, whilst digital platforms – such as the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor App – will remain live until at least the end of 2024.

We still have strong belief in the Build & Code proposition and will continue to support it through platforms such as SPIKE Prime, and we are continuing to hold on to the trademark for the MINDSTORMS brand and assessing our future plans together with LEGO Education.

What do you think? Are you a LEGO MINDSTORMS user? What is the future of LEGO robotics in your opinion? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!
