As we discussed previously (see: LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Trailer & Sets!) LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is an upcoming four-part miniseries based on the LEGO Star Wars franchise, set for release on September 13, 2024, on Disney+. The series follows a boy named Sig Greebling, who accidentally activates a powerful Jedi relic that rewrites reality, forcing him to restore things to normal. The miniseries also features the on-screen debut of Jedi Bob, a minifigure originating from the Attack of the Clones Republic Gunship set from 2002 where he was depicted as a then-unnamed Jedi character. He was later given the name “Bob” as an inside joke from the fandom in the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary, published in 2009.

At the beginning of the month, three LEGO Star Wars sets were released based on the upcoming miniseries. There is a lot of interest in these sets, so I thought to discuss them all together with the help of JANGBRiCKS and his excellent reviews.

The #75388 LEGO Star Wars Jedi Bob’s Starfighter introduces fans to the mystery character and also includes an Ackbar Trooper, plus a Servo (SR-V0) droid. The starfighter features an opening cockpit, 2 spring-loaded shooters, and retractable landing gear. JANG doesn’t have a video-review on this set yet, but it’s a pretty basic but fun little set, perfect for swooshing around the galaxy! It comes with 305 pieces and the price is $39.99. Available at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

The #75389 LEGO Star Wars Dark Falcon features a dark version of the Millennium Falcon with flip-up panels for easy access to the detailed interior, including Darth Jar Jar’s throne, the command center, hyperdrive, entertainment area, and jail cell. Spring-loaded shooters, rotating cannons, and a removable gunner post add to the action-play possibilities. The six characters are Darth Jar Jar, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Dev, Darth Rey, Beach Luke, and Jedi Vader. In the video below, JANG will show you the set in detail. There is a lot to like here! This set comes with 1,579 pieces and the price is $179.99. Available at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

The #75393 LEGO Star Wars TIE Fighter & X-wing Mash-up features a ‘TIE-wing’ and ‘X-fighter’, each with an opening cockpit for a minifigure and 2 spring-loaded shooters. Simply remove the locking pins to detach the wings from the hull of each vehicle and rebuild to create the familiar, iconic TIE fighter and X-wing. The wings of the ‘TIE-wing’/X-fighter are adjustable for flight and attack modes and, once rebuilt as the X-wing, the retractable landing gear can be used. The set also comes with four minifigures, a Rebel Pilot, a TIE Pilot, Yesi Scala, and Sig Greebling, plus an L3-G0 droid.

I really like the customization options of this set. Take a look at the video-review below for more details. The set comes with 1,063 pieces and the price is $109.99. Available at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Over the past months, the LEGO Ideas Review Board evaluated 42 qualifying product ideas all of which demonstrated a huge array of creativity and innovation. All these designs achieved the landmark ‘10k’ status between early September 2023 and early January 2024. And today, they announced the results!

The first new project that will become an official LEGO set is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – Here We Go Again! by 2PPL. The project contains Charlie Bucket, Willy Wonka, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teevee, and two Oompa-Loompas. Recreate the iconic chocolate waterfall scene, with all the fantastic colors and flavors that allow you to imagine being really inside the famous book. The chocolate waterfall actually works and has a space to be motorized!

The second project that will become an official LEGO is The Italian Riviera by Galaxy333. The Italian Riviera is home to many small, colorful towns that cling to the cliffside above the sea. This model is heavily inspired by this beautiful region of Italy, specifically by the towns of the Cinque Terre. Included in this project are three shops: a gelato shop, a florist, and a fish market, as well as a second-story living space. The model also wouldn’t be complete without a small town square and beach.

Just to recap, besides the above-mentioned new projects, there are currently seven LEGO Ideas fan creations in development, launching at different points in the future, along with two LEGO Ideas Gift-With-Purchase sets and two LEGO Ideas Insiders Rewards sets. In addition, you may recall from the previous announcement, that the LEGO Ideas team is still considering the Disney Pixar Luxo Jr. Lamp model by TOBY1KENOBI20506.

Also, the LEGO Ideas Review Board is working its way through the next round of 10K product ideas, slightly more projects than last time, coming in at 48 submissions. These all hit 10,000 supporters between early January 2024 and early May 2024. They will share the results of the first 2024 LEGO review in the autumn of 2024.

What do you think? How do you like the new additions to the LEGO Ideas sets list? Are you planning to get either of them? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!
