I thought you might be interested in several pieces of news from the LEGO Ideas team: an upcoming LEGO Ideas set, a chance to pick a future LEGO Ideas set, and a new building challenge. Details are below.

Back in October of last year, LEGO fans had the chance to choose which submission from the Build from the Heart challenge would be put into production to become the next official LEGO Ideas set. This challenge ran in collaboration with Target looking for ideas representing love, friendship, self-care, and Valentine’s Day. There were 269 submissions for the challenge, covering all aspects of kindness, caring, and friendship. After the judging phase, five models made it to the fan vote, and the final winner is ModularManiac with his charming Love Birds model. When the set will be available will be announced at a later time, so stay tuned!

The LEGO Ideas team is also running another collaboration with Target. This challenge was set up for builders who wanted to celebrate and capture the essence of the 90s. The five finalists are now announced, and it’s time for you to vote for your favorite at the contest page!

• Edward Scissorhands by Castor-Troy showcases incredible architectural detail, capturing the eerie charm of a ghoulish mansion with stunning textures and intricate design. The expressive minifigures and lush overgrown scenery add depth to the storytelling, making it a visually captivating build, taking us into the world of Edward Scissorhands.
• The X-Files: The Truth Is Out There by BrentWaller brilliantly captures the essence of The X-Files, combining an atmospheric alien abduction scene with a highly detailed recreation of Mulder and Scully’s office. The clever use of lighting and layered design makes it a striking tribute to the beloved sci-fi series.
• The FIFTH ELEMENT Book Nook & Playset by CUBETTARO perfectly captures the futuristic and chaotic beauty of The Fifth Element, with its towering architecture and iconic flying taxi. The intricate details and bold colors bring the film’s cyberpunk aesthetic to life, makes this entry a stunning tribute to the sci-fi classic.
• Jumanji (1995)  by BRICK PROJECT masterfully recreates the iconic Jumanji board game and the Parrish family house, capturing the adventurous spirit of the 1995 film. The detailed interiors, including scenes like the plant-overrun living room and the chaotic kitchen with mischievous monkeys, bring the movie’s memorable moments to life.
• Buffy the Vampire Slayer Library by vjw1978 beautifully recreates the Sunnydale High School Library from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, incorporating numerous references to classic episodes. The inclusion of minifigures, along with iconic props such as the eggs from “Bad Eggs” and the mask from “Dead Man’s Party,” makes it a nostalgic and detailed tribute to the beloved 1990s series.

In the LEGO Ideas Fresh for February Challenge, the LEGO Ideas team wants to see how you’re brightening up your homes with brilliant brick-built creations. There are some fabulous prizes on offer, and you don’t need to be an interior designer to win them!

Tablescaping is all the rage and when it comes to creating a beautiful display, look no further than your trusty LEGO bricks. A brick-built sculpture or brick-built sign will really add some je ne sais quoi, or in other words, some sparkle, to your space. Is your wall art looking a little tired? Then it is time for some fabulous LEGO art to replace it.

You could take inspiration from the gorgeous LEGO Botanical sets and go wild with your own combinations of shapes and colors to create a vibrant floral treat or possibly a statement designer vase. Or perhaps you fancy a less floral but more ornamental or sculptural approach? It really is up to you and what you think would make your home decor come alive!

The runner-up winners will receive the #5007523 LEGO Wooden Minifigure, the #31213 LEGO Art Mona Lisa, the #31214 LEGO Art Love, the #10342 LEGO Botanical Pretty Flower Bouquet, and the #40719 LEGO Traditional Chess Set.
