The Mandalorian Trailer in LEGO & More!

If you are a LEGO Star Wars fan, you have been probably watching The Mandalorian TV series. Star Wars: The Mandalorian premiered on Disney+ on November 12th, with new episodes released every Friday for a total of eight episodes in the first season (a second season is already in the works). The series takes place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and follows the adventures of a Mandalorian bounty hunter.

Unlike the recent Star Wars films, which gathered mixed reviews, The Mandalorian has been received by overwhelming positivity. I don’t want to spoil the story for you in case you haven’t seen the episodes yet, but the combination of space adventure and classic Western films with a Clint Eastwood-esque main character has been extremely effective. And there is also the irresistibly adorable Baby Yoda, who is not really Yoda when he was a baby, but a similar creature from an unknown species and only referred to as the Child in the TV series.

To celebrate the release of the series, LEGO animator Brick Force Studios released a LEGO stop-motion animation version of The Mandalorian trailer. The animation is collaboration between Karol Pikula of Brick Force Studios (animation, edit, and VFX), Kamil Adam Janko of MegaSpaceFighter (animation, graphics, and image refining), and Pawel Kaminski of pkmovies92 (3D models and landscapes). In the player below, you can watch both the LEGO version of the trailer, as well as the side-by-side comparison with the original trailer.

LEGO fans can be fairly certain that LEGO is going to release sets related to The Mandalorian TV series. In fact, at least one set was already revealed; the #75267 LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Battle Pack. The set contains four Mandalorians wearing different colored and highly detailed armors and helmets, as well as a speeder and small terrain. I expect this set to be extremely popular when it gets released.

Although there is no news on this at the time of this article, I also expect LEGO to release a set with Baby Yoda in the near future. I have already seen some sweet versions of Baby Yoda made by LEGO fans. Below, you can see Baby Yoda from the TV series, a LEGO micro-figure version of Baby Yoda (creator unknown), and two versions of the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda in LEGO BrickHeadz style (first image by Eric Druon, second image creator unknown). The last brick-built Baby Yoda is by LEGO fan Miro, and you can download free building instructions at his LEGO Rebrickable page.
