The LEGO Batman Movie soundtrack & more!

The LEGO Batman Movie had some great songs, but my favorite is “Friends Are Family” by Oh, Hush! It has a similarly catchy tune as “Everything is Awesome” from The LEGO Movie. Plus, it comes with great animation in the official music video. In case you haven’t see it yet, I thought to include it for your weekend entertainment. 🙂

In the video-player below you can watch the “Friends Are Family” music video, and I also added a second video with the lyrics, in case you want to sing along. Enjoy!

Fun, isn’t it? The full soundtrack (28 songs) for The LEGO Batman Movie was released just a few days ago, so if you have already watched the film and liked the songs, you can download the digital version, or get the CD at various retailers. The soundtrack is also available on Amazon, which includes a free MP3 version if you buy the CD. Here is the link: THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE SOUNDTRACK

While you are on Amazon, I also highly recommend taking a look at The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie by DK Publishing. I wrote about this book briefly (see: LEGO Batman Movie Books by DK), and since then I had the chance to read the whole thing. It really is fantastic, with lots of background information about how the movie was made. I particularly liked the various cars and other vehicles that were built for the film, and the development of the minifig version of the characters. So much careful work went into this movie, it’s amazing! You can check out the book here: THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE: THE MAKING OF THE MOVIE

Also, just a quick reminder that the LEGO Double VIP Points period started a few days ago, and will expire on the 16th of this month. During this time you will earn double points on all of your purchases at official LEGO stores, and the Online LEGO Shop. This is a great time to get The LEGO Batman Movie sets (if you don’t have them already), or any of the large number of newly released sets we have talked about previously (see links at the end of this post): NEW SETS AT THE ONLINE LEGO SHOP

What do you think? Have you seen The LEGO Batman Movie yet? How did you like it? Do you have a favorite song from the movie? Feel free to share your thoughts and own review in the comment section below! 😉

LEGO Easter raffle for springtime fun!

LEGO is running a fun little campaign for Easter, including a raffle, where participants will have a chance to win a goodie-bag with LEGO related Easter awesomeness and a medium-sized LEGO set. Details on how to enter are enclosed below. 🙂

To participate in this raffle, take an Easter-themed LEGO picture. Your image could be a unique LEGO creations, a minifig doing something Easter-y, etc. Nothing complicated – just a fun Easter-themed picture with LEGO (you can check out the current entries to get an idea). You can also use the LEGO Easter sets and minifigures as props for your image.

Next, add the image to the LEGO Easter Campaign Flickr Group, which will be your raffle ticket for the lucky draw. You can also share your image in other places online like Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, etc., using the hashtag #LEGOEaster, to help with the campaign, but you can only enter the raffle via the above mentioned Flickr Group.

When you submit your image to the LEGO Easter Campaign Flickr Group, add your first name and LEGO User Group affiliation (if you are entering through us, your LUG affiliation will be theBrickBlogger), along with the #LEGOEaster hashtag. If you belong to a local LUG, or other official online group recognized by LEGO, you can enter through them as well (i.e. Brickset, Eurobricks, Brothers-Brick, etc.). So you would write something like: James (or whatever is your name) – theBrickBlogger – #LEGOEaster as the title of your picture.

Please note that you can only enter your image once. Taking pictures from different angles will not give you additional tickets for the lucky draw, although you could enter other pictures, if you like.

Once Easter is over, LEGO will select ten raffle winners from the images in the LEGO Easter Campaign Flickr Group (Easter falls on April 16th this year, so you have about a month to enter). The winners will be contacted via Flickr mail asking for their full name. Their LUG-affiliation will be confirmed by the Ambassador of the LUG (in the case of theBrickBlogger, that’s me), and if everything checks out, the prizes will be shipped to the winners.

And that’s it! Since most of us are using creative usernames here, and I don’t know the real names of all of you, just add a link in the comment section below to your entry in the Flickr Group. This way, I can easily verify your identity in case LEGO picks you as one of the winners! Good luck! 😉
