LEGO gets the Frodo poster. Target has the Gollum poster, but you can only get it with the Orc Forge. Toys R Us has the other two posters, I think. It’s hard to tell as the online listing shows both in one listing, but is not clear as to whether you get both or just one randomly. You can only get it free with a LotR purchase, even though it has a price of $4.99.

I want to collect them all, but the TRU ones look like they will be challenge and expensive to get. ๐Ÿ™

Sarah, thanks for clarfying that! I didn’t know the other stores were also giving away posters! ๐Ÿ˜€

I was able to get the Hulk minifigure. Although I was a little disappointed that the quality of the plastic was not set quality (more like the collectible minifigure quality), I still really like it. I love the fact they gave him back printing, and he also has a double face print. This is the way I like promo-figures to be done: a figure who is found in common sets, but a different variant exclusive to the promotion. Something that people will want to get, but not too critical if you happen to miss.

I seen them and Monster Fighters at the Toys R Us on sunday

    Woooo Hoooo!

    • admin May 21, 2012, 11:51 AM

Coz, yep, Monster Fighters are officially out! I just added the Monster Fighters link to the sidebar on the right if you want to check them all out at the LEGO store. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The toysrus poster is double-sided. I just got it yesterday, it has aragorn on one side and legolas on the other side…..kinda makes me wonder if the one lego is giving out has frodo on one side and gollum on the other…… ๐Ÿ˜

    • admin May 23, 2012, 10:53 AM

KAI, thanks for letting us know. As far as the Frodo/Gollum posters, all I know is that they are listed as separate posters on BrickLink: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=G&catString=503.782

Does the Legolas side say The Return of the King instead of The Two Towers, or was that just mine? I got two from the FAO Schwartz Ebay page thinking I could display one for the Aragorn side and one for the Legolas side, but I recently realized the mistake on the Legolas side, which makes me not want to display it.

Can’t wait till they come out at target stores!

    • admin May 28, 2012, 1:19 PM

Nace, they are in fact available at Target right now! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • nace10 May 28, 2012, 1:32 PM

Really???? When did they come out?

    • admin May 28, 2012, 1:42 PM

It has been a couple of weeks now when the first LOTR sets appeared on Target’s website. I have read that most store locations (and online) sold out really quickly, so I would suggest that you check with your local Target before taking the trip. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • nace10 May 28, 2012, 1:50 PM

On Target.com, it says not avilable in stores…

    • admin May 28, 2012, 4:49 PM

Nace, yeah, it is right now still a hit or miss. BTW, I was just at Walmart and they had a couple of LOTR sets out, the Weathertop set and the one with Gandalf. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d love to get the poster and Hulk minfigure, but I don’t really want to spend 10 bucks shipping.

  • nace10 May 28, 2012, 5:24 PM

    Nice!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
I went about a week ago and they didn’t have any! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
( They said they had them at that store though.)

  • nace10 May 28, 2012, 7:04 PM

Hey Admin, which set do you think is the best for the price โ“

    • admin May 28, 2012, 9:08 PM

Nace, it depends on what you are after. If you want the minifigs, then go with the one that has the minifigs you want the most. If you are looking for parts then get the Battle at Helms Deep. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Strider December 12, 2012, 10:23 AM

Are you kidding? That poster came on the front of the first Lego catalog to have Lord of the Rings. In fact its tacked above my Lego table as I type this. Did you know it shows all the minifigures on the back of it?

    • admin December 12, 2012, 10:53 AM

Strider, it may have been there as well. Please note that this article is back from May. ๐Ÿ˜‰
