(Written by Nathan K. – ntk743)

Have you seen the images of the 2013 LEGO Star Wars sets yet? They have been circulating around LEGO blogs and forums in the past few days. In my opinion the 2013 LEGO Star Wars sets and especially the minifigures look amazing! 😛

I used to be a big LEGO Star Wars fan, but since Ninjago came out I pretty much neglected Star Wars. But with these new amazing sets I think I might jump back into Star Wars! I love how the new sets are based on the old Star Wars movies. Okay, so let’s look at the pictures! 😉

#75000 LEGO STAR WARS Clone Troopers vs. DroidekasThis battle-pack includes two Battle Droids and two Clone Troopers, and comes with 124 pieces. Also, did you notice the new Star Wars box-art for next year? In the year of 2012 we had Darth Maul, and now Yoda!  Battle-packs usually have a RRP of $13, so I’m guessing that’s what the price will be.

#75001 LEGO STAR WARS Republic vs. Sith TroopersThis is another battle-pack with two Sith troopers and two of the new kind of Republic troopers, which I love! Price should be $13 also.

#75002 LEGO STAR WARS AT-RT We have seen these walkers before but this one is with a new color scheme, which I think is nice. The three minifigures included are also sweet, although not really unique. My guess is that this set will be about $30.

#75003 LEGO STAR WARS A-wing Starfighter – A nice little A-wing, and it appears that the mechanic comes with a new helmet! Still, I don’t think this set will be such a big hit. At least I’m not crazy about it. Price should be around $25.

#75004 LEGO STAR WARS Z-95 HeadhunterThis set has a pretty neat name!  And it comes with three minifigures; one of them is a really interesting character named Pong Krell. He is a four-armed Jedi master who likes to fight with two dual light-sabers. I read somewhere that the piece used for his extra arms is the same as the one used for Lord Garmadon. This set sounds really interesting!

#75005 LEGO STAR WARS Rancor PitThis set is really cool! I love the big ugly monster! Also, it appears that the Rancor Pit can be attached to #9516 LEGO Star Wars Jabba’s Palace! Since this is a big set, my guess is the price will be around $75.

#75012 LEGO STAR WARS BARC SpeederThis is a smallish set with two speeders and three or four minifigures. I can’t tell for sure as the box shows four minifigures, whereas the other picture only has three. I believe the blue trooper is Captain Rex. I also like Obi-Wan’s new suit. The price is probably around $20.

#75013 LEGO STAR WARS Umbarran Mobile Heavy CannonThis set is really cool even without the minifigures! The heavy cannon is awesome! Four minifigures are included, and I love the new Ahsoka Tano’s new suit! I would say this set would be about $60.

That’s it as far as the LEGO Star Wars sets for 2013 revealed so far! There are also six new sets in the LEGO Star Wars Planets series, but those could be covered in a separate post. And to check out the currently available LEGO Star Wars sets visit the Online LEGO Shop:

Sweet! but i’m not all that mutch into star wars as i was before. I think the clone wars is silly considering the fact that only so mutch can happen between episode 2 and 3.

Billy October 28, 2012 at 1:51 PM

Actually, there was three whole years between episode 2 and 3, so it is not that silly when you think about it.

bently October 28, 2012 at 11:24 AM

I agree with this^^but these are still pretty cool. my favorite is the mobile cannon.

studless October 28, 2012 at 11:43 AM

Wow, these sets are so cool and I have 3 that I know I want to get.

Padawan Ahsoka Tano October 28, 2012 at 1:03 PM

They finally made an Ahsoka Tano minifig with her new outfit???? WANT.

Coles Girl October 28, 2012 at 1:28 PM

Cool! 🙂 I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, but these look pretty cool! 😀

Billy October 28, 2012 at 1:52 PM

I am excited for the A-Wing, because the new one has missiles on it, and the one I have, the second version, did not.

Jay-MOL October 28, 2012 at 2:52 PM

I’m buying a lot of those the clones are very detailed new fogs best wave yet!

NRG Jay October 28, 2012 at 3:57 PM

Notice the BARC Speeder shows only one droid on the box art and second photo, but two on the minifig list on the bottom of the box

ntk743 October 28, 2012 at 4:35 PM

Yeah, I thought I added that in my post…

cangooooo October 28, 2012 at 4:56 PM

i’m a fan of lego star wars i love all of the sets except this sets they stink 🙁

DX ZX KENDO NRG PWR JAY-MOUTH OF LIGHTNING (Seriously i have a mouth of lightning) :) October 28, 2012 at 7:40 PM

there the best wave of sets yet!

Håkan, Sweden October 28, 2012 at 5:37 PM

I’m dubious about that big monster. I think I’d have preferred something brick-built, this humongous behemoth is basically useless for anything else. Still, it might be a way to cut down prices, I guess.

Eric at a LEGO a Day October 28, 2012 at 6:50 PM

The minifigs do look nice, but just not feeling this wave. I’ll pick up the A-Wing (nicest set in the bunch) if it’s $20-$25.

admin October 29, 2012 at 9:48 AM

Eric, I do have to agree – this wave of Star Wars sets is quite weak. LEGO may have ran out of ideas? 😐

It seems like the focus here is the minifigs, LEGO hoping that we will pick up the sets just for them. Maybe, maybe not. If the sets get too boring and repetative, some of us may just opt to buy the minifigs on BrickLink. 🙄

Eric at a LEGO a Day October 29, 2012 at 11:23 AM

I think they have exhausted the Star Wars galaxy. My guess is I will be able to pick these up on deep clearance at some point. I just don’t see them selling well at all.

Gabriel October 29, 2012 at 1:13 PM

Probably not news, but I just found out from a LEGO store rep that the Star Wars license has been extended to 2023. I think the new Star Wars sets look way better, so I am glad they are revisiting the old sets. I’m hoping for a new TIE interceptor and TIE bomber!

admin October 30, 2012 at 9:53 AM

Gabriel, yes, that is correct. LEGO made the announcement some months back. It would actually be a great idea to re-do many of the old sets! I would love to see that too! 😀

DX ZX KENDO NRG PWR JAY-MOUTH OF LIGHTNING (Seriously i have a mouth of lightning) :) October 28, 2012 at 7:42 PM

im ganna buy the set with ahsoka when it comes out and ask for the headhunter set for my bday!

Dude October 28, 2012 at 8:41 PM

I have to get the phase 2 rex, A-Wing, At-Rt and clone droideka battle pack

(P.S do you have a closer pic of prong krell)

ntk743 October 29, 2012 at 8:27 AM

No! It kinda stinks! 😥 🙁

Jay-MOL October 28, 2012 at 8:51 PM

I know pong krell is cool! And I want better pics of him!

Jay-MOL October 28, 2012 at 8:52 PM

I love the phase 2 clones I wonder if the yellow clone is waxed or boil 😕

Jay-MOL October 28, 2012 at 8:53 PM

I really want the set with Ashoka and I want to know the prices of sets 🙁

Jay-MOL October 28, 2012 at 8:55 PM

Im ganna get a lot of these sets! I think they come out in January right?

Jay-MOL October 28, 2012 at 9:09 PM

The umbarans lok really cool but I have looked at pictures and the helmets coil be different I have found a good piece for there helmet 😀

great post love the pics cant stop looking at them!

Gabriel October 28, 2012 at 9:52 PM

Usually the Admin and I have pretty similar opinions, so I was shocked that we disagreed so much here — and then I found out this was written by ntk743 🙂

Okay, first of all the AT-RT does have something new, and it is HUGE: this is the very first 501st-style clone trooper as seen in Revenge of the Sith. I didn’t realize that at first, but now it’s tempting even though I don’t collect The Clone Wars LEGO sets.

The set I want most is Clone Troopers Vs. Droideka. Why? Because of the new non-“Clone Wars” style helmets. They look amazing! Must have. The A-wing set also looks cool, but I already have the previous A-wing from the Home One set, so I can skip that one.

Have you seen the 2013 Buildable Galaxy sets? Now THOSE are COOL!

Jay-MOL October 28, 2012 at 10:49 PM

Yes I noticed that the battle back has episode 2styled helmets instead of the clone wars helmets! And the destroyer droid is a sniper one in the walker set! And the pong krell set has two more 501st troopers! 😀

Jay-MOL October 28, 2012 at 10:51 PM

I want all the sets except for the old republic set and the a-wing I am not a huge fan of 4-6 movie sets

pythor953 October 29, 2012 at 6:13 AM

I like the new droidekas but I don’t understand the second design with the AT-RT. It is a droideka isn’t it?

DX ZX KENDO NRG PWR JAY-MOUTH OF LIGHTNING (Seriously i have a mouth of lightning) :) October 29, 2012 at 8:17 AM

yes it is a droideka but it is a sniper 😉

Pythor953 October 29, 2012 at 8:51 AM

Thanks, im not particularly up to date with star wars. I didn’t realize there were more than one class of droidekas.

DX ZX KENDO NRG PWR JAY-MOUTH OF LIGHTNING (Seriously i have a mouth of lightning) :) October 29, 2012 at 8:53 AM

yeah no problem

DX ZX KENDO NRG PWR JAY-MOUTH OF LIGHTNING (Seriously i have a mouth of lightning) :) October 29, 2012 at 9:22 AM

i really want an ahsoka minifg

Jacob October 29, 2012 at 9:40 AM

The AT-RT is way out of scale, it should be significantly small than that, unless is is a new huge variant. The Droideka sniper has rather odd box art, as they specifically do not have a shield generator like the regular ones. I do like that we have Pong Krell now, an I a fairly certain people will use him as Dexter if they try to reenact episode 2.

Brian November 12, 2012 at 10:08 PM

I completely agree about the AT-RT, but its still cool looking!

Thelegodude19 October 29, 2012 at 12:29 PM

That Rancor Pit set is nowhere big enough to be 75$. I’m guessing more like 40$/

Håkan, Sweden October 29, 2012 at 12:52 PM

In my impression, it’s kinda weak. The building feels like a rather basic structure, which they’ve tried to cover over with an enormous single-piece rancor to grab attention. (It’s “rancor”, not “ranchor”.) I feel the concept could have been utilized a lot more.

Well, I’ve dissed that set enough for now.

Thelegodude19 October 30, 2012 at 9:29 AM

lol, it does seem a little lame, but keep in mind that it attaches to Jabba’s Palace. 🙂 Even though I’m not entirely sure how it is going to do that…..

Håkan, Sweden October 30, 2012 at 3:41 PM

Aha. Like an add-on set. By checking out Brickipedia, there seems to be a Technic peg at the side of the building. Possibly through that, I reckon.

SKOUTLAW FOR LIFE October 30, 2012 at 10:23 AM

Tydroid Ninja of NINJAGONESS October 31, 2012 at 2:57 PM

that cool guy guy November 4, 2012 at 2:43 PM

these sets are epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jack November 13, 2012 at 12:29 PM

I think the sets with the clones and clone weapons are awsome even if the AT-RT set is inaccurate.

thomas November 13, 2012 at 9:24 PM

is there eney ghance i can get a set ? the atrt set?

admin November 14, 2012 at 9:14 AM

Thomas, these sets are scheduled for release in 2013. There is a possibility that some of them may show up in December at some retail locations. TRU especially is notorious of selling sets early. So you just have to keep an eye out for them. But the official release is not until next year. 😉

NinjaNut November 15, 2012 at 9:05 AM

I like these sets they are really neat I posted this from my new I pod

Supershadowsucks November 22, 2012 at 2:14 AM

Z95: 50 bucks, Atrt: 25 bucks Rancor Pit:50 bucks. As for attachment purposes, you just clip it on brick on top of brick. It’s not very hard. I think sets are way overpriced these days. Example: Anakin jedi starfighter and vulture droid: 20$. (2005) Anakin Jedi starfighter-the vulture droid: 40$ (2012) Inflation sucks, man.

RepublicGuy101 December 11, 2012 at 5:02 PM

Wow! Those Republic Troopers look great! I’m buying 5 of those!

admin December 11, 2012 at 5:17 PM

Yeah, they are pretty awesome! 😀

jack December 12, 2012 at 1:41 PM

>> Minecraftgiftcodes.me <<

Michael December 26, 2012 at 4:18 PM

I dont know about u guys but in the Umbarin MHC, the clone trooper is yellow and in the 212th batallion, its not yellow its orange thats a big downside but overall i still love the set!!!

BigEZ December 27, 2012 at 1:55 PM

Already picked up 75001 at the local Lego store. I’m actually excited about the A-wing as I only collect vehicles and didn’t want to have to buy the Mon Cal Cruiser set just for the A-wing. Also like the Headhunter. I’d like to see a Stealth X or E-Wing from the EU as well.

admin December 27, 2012 at 2:43 PM

An E-wing would be nice! With Disney buying Star Wars I’m sure EU will continue to expand. They also stated that more movies will come! 🙂

The Dark Jedi December 28, 2012 at 10:31 PM

I HAVE to get all these, especially the one with Ahsoka! Btw I think that second lightsaber of hers is called a shoto.

The Dark Jedi December 28, 2012 at 10:36 PM

Also, anybody know if luke’s lightsaber is hidden somewhere in the rancor pit? Just curious 😛

admin December 29, 2012 at 10:36 AM

Good question! I checked if the parts-list is up on Bricklink, but not yet, so right now I can’t tell. Maybe someone who already has the set can chime in?

Micah January 1, 2013 at 3:36 PM

I want some of those Droidekas!

Micah January 1, 2013 at 8:40 PM

I got $66 for the new sets of 2013! 😀

Micah January 1, 2013 at 8:47 PM

Hey admin I went to walmart today and he AT-RT lego set was $20

admin January 2, 2013 at 10:22 AM

Yeah, I have seen it too. I don’t collect LEGO Star Wars, as I don’t have the space for them, but I do appreciate the desings. It’s a nice little set! 🙂

Micah January 2, 2013 at 11:14 AM

Well Lego Star Wars is my favorite series not even Ninjago beat it but Ninjago is my 2nd favorite! Getting a 2013 set today! 😀 🙂 😀 🙂

Micah January 2, 2013 at 6:36 PM

I got Clone Troopers vs. Droidekas and the AT-RT!

nich January 8, 2013 at 5:10 PM

Clone Maser February 1, 2013 at 2:26 AM

lukecalrissian June 10, 2013 at 7:07 AM
