in LEGO City

Continuing the trend from the past few days where we reviewed the LEGO sets coming out this summer in several LEGO themes, today we will look at the LEGO City sets that will be released shortly. Images of the summer sets have been popping up at a German toy-shop, so we can take a better look and talk them over. 😛

LEGO City Coast Guard Sets

There are several LEGO City sets coming this summer to be excited about. First of all there is a whole series of LEGO City Coast Guard sets. There are five sets within this theme, with a really nice white-orange-blue color scehme, ranging from rescue planes and helicopters to rescue boats at sea. There is the #60011 LEGO City Surfer Rescue, the #60012 LEGO City 4×4 and Diving Boat, the #60013 LEGO City Coast Guard Helicopter, the #60014 LEGO City Coast Guard Patrol, and the #60015 LEGO City Coast Guard Plane. Oh, and there are also lots of sharks too! 😈

Pretty neat, aren’t they? But this is not all, there are also two large trucks coming, the #60025 LEGO City Grand Prix Truck, and the #60027 LEGO City Monster Truck Transporter. Check them out below!

And I saved the best for last of the LEGO City summer sets; the #60026 LEGO City Town Square. The set includes a Pizza Shop, a Bike Shop, a city bus, construction crane, a street-sweeper, bikes, motorcycles, a bunch of minifigures and tons of accessories (click image for larger view)! 😀

I have the older Coast Guard Cutter. The new one looks even better!

Yes the new Coast Guard cutter is nice but the old cutter had more style and was more of a look. The new completes the new theme so either one is nice.

Yea,looks cool. Especially the town square. I may get some of the small sets for the surfboards and minifigs. I’m not too sure I could afford the town square all accessories and stuff in it though. 😆

I’m surprised we don’t have any of the newer bigger sharks, they are definitely much better looking. I’m not sure I understand why lego have gone back to the old sharks. Having said that the top jaw of these sharks looks like at may be a slightly different mold to the old ones. I’m not sure though, does anyone know if I’m correct saying that?

The white shark looks quite similar to the newer large shark, and it seems to have gills molded into the body. However, the grey sharks seem to be exactly like the vintage Lego ones.

Oh yeah I see what you mean. Thanks

WHOA! Lego is going back to the old sharks!? That’s awesome! Those were definetly my favorites. The newer ones were too bulky.

I personally am a fan of LOTR sets. I’m a TFOL and have loved legos since I was five (I’m now fifteen) and I have around 100,000 bricks and special elements. Among my collection (you could hardly call it massive because some TFOLs have way more) there are many city sets. I follow the latest news on this theme regularly but have basically stopped getting any more sets. Thought these new ones are fantastic! What I am wondering is where the big green airplane is! I saw an image of it on Google when I was browsing around. Admin, have you seen it?

Meneldur, are you talking about the Sopwith Camel? See discussion here: http://thebrickblogger.com/2012/05/new-lego-aircraft-lego-sopwith-camel/

Nope. Its a City plane. I actually just googled it and found several pictures of brand new City airplanes.

Oh, you are talking about the new City planes! Yeah, that’s a different matter. But they are still very cool. It’s just when you said “green airplane” I was immediately thinking of the Sopwith. 😉
