2015 LEGO exclusive sets rumors…

We have been discussing many of the 2015 LEGO sets coming next year (see links at the end of this post), and it is exciting to see such a nice line-up from our favorite themes. Although they haven’t been announced officially as of yet, the set pictures, minifigs and some of the details are already available. Unless some major disaster or something happens, you can count on that these sets will be available in January. ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO 2015 Exclusive Sets Rumors

Besides the solid information about the regular LEGO sets there are also rumors circulating about some large exclusive sets coming later in 2015. I normally don’t like to post rumors until there is at least some solid information, however at this time I will make an exception as readers have been consistently asking about these both by email and in the comment section of various articles. So I decided to collect and address these rumors in one post, thus we can discuss them all in one place.

Please note that these are rumors. They do come from fairly reliable sources – in other words they come from people who won’t intentionally spread misinformation. However keep in mind that many times in the past such rumors ended up being either completely or at least partially wrong. This may have been the result of miscommunication, misinterpreted information, or LEGO’s own changing plans. The bottom line is; take everything you read here with a grain of salt. So now that we have that cleared, let’s talk about the three large exclusive LEGO sets coming next year.

โžก LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES – AVENGERS HELICARRIER: This rumor was first posted by LEGO blogger Allen from TheBrickFan.com. According to his source, this is going to be a very large, Ultimate Collector Series type set with around 3,000 pieces, for about $300, released next summer. LEGO DC Comics has recently gotten the #76023 LEGO Super Heroes Tumbler, which has close to 2,000 pieces with the price of $200. So from this perspective it does seem plausible that Marvel also gets a large LEGO set. Other that this information, nothing else is known. Below is a LEGO Avengers Helicarrier model by YoSub Joo that recently made it to 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas. Please note this is NOT an indication of what the rumored set will be like – after all this model is over 22,000 pieces! I simply put it here for your reference and because it is awesome! ๐Ÿ˜€

โžก LEGO STAR WARS UCS TIE FIGHTER: I believe this rumor started by a member of Brickset in this thread, and later confirmed by other reliable sources as well. LEGO normally releases a LEGO Star Wars UCS set on May the 4th (which is traditionally Star Wars Day), so that part checks out. We have already gotten the #7181 LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor in the year 2000, and the #10175 LEGO Star Wars Vader’s TIE Advanced in 2006, so there is some precedent that LEGO likes to make TIE variants in theย Ultimate Collector Series. This set supposed to be around $200 with 1,600 pieces. The currently available LEGO Star Wars UCS sets are the #10225 LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 model, the #10240 LEGO Star Wars Red Five X-wing, the #75059 LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler, and the #75060 LEGO Star Wars Slave I will be released in January.

โžก LEGO THE SIMPSONS KWIK-E-MART: This rumor also started by Allen from TheBrickFan.com. According to his source it will be somewhat cheaper than the currently available #71006 LEGO The Simpsons House set (which is an excellent set, by the way, but it is $200). Although this is only a rumor at this point, there is a good possibility of it happening as we already know that a second wave of LEGO The Simpsons Collectible Minifigures are scheduled for next year.

So these are the three large exclusive LEGO sets rumored to be released next year. Again, take this all with a grain or even teaspoon of salt. However now you know what’s circulating out there, and we have one place to discuss any updates on these sets. There is also a video round-up about the above news from just2good. I believe his reasoning is quite circular in trying to prove that the rumors are in fact true, but he can be forgiven; LEGO fans are an enthusiastic bunch, and we love to believe good rumors on rare and expensive sets. Hope heย ends up beingย right. And for currently available LEGO exclusives you can check out the Online LEGO Shop.

That helicarrier would be super awesome

  • Noah October 26, 2014, 12:08 PM

Yeah it would, i bet if they were to sell this it would cost a load… :\

  • BLProductions October 26, 2014, 1:16 PM

Would love to get that Helicarrier when it comes out, assuming it comes with the proper minifigures. My brother called it though, but I guess it’s fair, I want the Tumbler. ๐Ÿ˜• A UCS TIE Fighter, though? Who comes up with this? I mean, LEGO should focus on producing good, movie-scale sets, not oversized, overpriced models. A TIE Fighter could be nice though, unlike the rest of the 2015 SW lineup. We’ll see. ๐Ÿ˜
Also, don’t forget that we’ve also got Slave I coming in January. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Another expensive year, this will be. ๐Ÿ™

    • admin October 26, 2014, 1:25 PM

Yeah, I’m not sure what’s the point of another TIE. The Helicarrier sounds interesting though. Oh, and I did mention the Slave I in the article. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • BLProductions October 26, 2014, 4:35 PM

Oh, didn’t see that. Now I do. It happens when I’m only half-reading whatever I’m reading. ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • admin October 26, 2014, 4:59 PM

I know. I do it all the time too. ๐Ÿ˜†

  • Robin October 26, 2014, 2:32 PM

This is completely off topic but I was watching some of jang bricks videos and I was inspired to try and create a space police corp like he did but my space theme mini figs don’t match so what do I do

  • Robin October 26, 2014, 2:42 PM

I was inspired by jang bricks to create my own lego space police force but all my space themed mini figs are from completely different themes

    • Robin October 26, 2014, 2:43 PM

Sorry I thought my comment had been deleted because it was missing

      • admin October 26, 2014, 2:52 PM

Robin, no problem. Sometimes it takes a minute for a comment to post, but don’t worry, they always show up. I don’t delete comments unless they are from a spammer. As far as your question, there is nothing wrong with creating your own Space Police characters. If they don’t match at all, you can pretend they are on an undercover mission in disguise. ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • Robin October 26, 2014, 6:52 PM

I was actually thinking mabe the different uniform could mean different ranks

          • admin October 26, 2014, 8:07 PM

That’s an excellent idea too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • LegoUniverse Bob October 26, 2014, 2:48 PM

When I started reading the article, and saw that picture of the Helicarrier, I almost screamed. I thought it was the real thing, until I saw the little note at the end ๐Ÿ˜› .

    • admin October 26, 2014, 2:49 PM

Yeah, it’s fun to dream though about giant sets like this! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Superweapon October 26, 2014, 2:54 PM

On topic: I saw on LEGO Ideas someone suggested a cool looking lego UCS Barad Dur that was just slightly over the Taj Mahal in piece count. It was relatively accurate and looked like an official set in terms of style.

Off Topic: My Halloween costume advertised a light up face mask with the picture showing glowing eyes. After buying it, I found it wasn’t the eyes that glowed but the cheeks and chin. I took some LEGO light bricks and made an assembly that could turn on and off to fix this issue.

    • admin October 26, 2014, 4:58 PM

Nicely done modification for your costume! Do you have a link to that LEGO Ideas projecct?

    • BLProductions October 26, 2014, 5:20 PM

You made the light bricks light up the eyes? Cool!
@admin, I couldn’t help looking it up, and I think this is it: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/60514 ๐Ÿ˜‰ It’s really, really sweet! I’d love to vote for that project, but I don’t have an Ideas ID. It’s different from an normal LEGO ID, right? ๐Ÿ˜•

      • admin October 26, 2014, 8:08 PM

That’s is really sweet! And as far as your ID, it is the same as your normal LEGO ID. Try it! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • lego trooper 91 October 26, 2014, 9:48 PM

yester day was my birth day and i got minecraft and 3 hero factory sets i love the minifig size heros so awsome and minecraft is so sweet

    • admin October 27, 2014, 2:37 PM

Yeah, the minifig size heroes are awesome and the micro Minecraft sets are sweet! Have fun with them and Happy Birthday! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • LEGONICK227 November 1, 2014, 3:58 PM

I’m really hoping for the UCS TIE Fighter!

    • admin November 1, 2014, 5:26 PM

Well, we should know fairly soon if that rumor is true or not! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Aedan February 18, 2015, 5:36 PM

    HI,

Any news about an Advanced train set being released this year?

Another one like the emerald express would be awesome.

    • admin February 18, 2015, 6:07 PM

Aedan, there is a standard LEGO City Train coming (this time in red instead of yellow), but no news of an advanced train set.
