LEGO Spider-Man: Far from Home Sets Review

The Spider-Man: Far from Home film is scheduled to be released at the beginning of July. The story takes place shortly after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Peter Parker, who is mourning the death of his mentor Tony Stark, goes on a school trip to Europe with his classmates. While abroad, he is recruited by Nick Fury to team up with Quentin Beck (also known as Mysterio), a master of trickery and illusion to battle the Elementals from another dimension. While we still have to wait over a month to see the movie, the LEGO sets related to the film are already available. Below, we will discuss all three sets in the collection.

First, let’s start with the trailer of Spider-Man: Far from Home, as it gives us a glimpse of the characters, vehicles, and scenes included in the LEGO sets, then we will look at the sets individually.

#76128 LEGO MOLTEN MAN BATTLE: Molten Man looks awesome in the trailer, and the LEGO version looks impressive as well, standing over 7” (18cm) tall with lots of trans-orange pieces. It also features posable head, arms, and legs, gripping claw, 6-stud rapid shooter, buildable melting objects including half a car, street lamp, and a traffic light attached to its body, molten lava elements, and attachment points for minifigures. The three minifigs are Spider-Man, Mysterio, and a firefighter desperately trying to put out the fire with a small fire extinguisher, which is funny. In the video-review below, JANGBRiCKS will show you the fire monster in more detail. 294 pieces. Price: $29.99 – BUY HERE

#76129 LEGO HYDRO-MAN ATTACK: In this set, we get a little slice of Venice including a canal-side café with a buildable coffee machine, outside table and seats, as well as a bridge and a gondola. Everything looks seemingly romantic, but there is also a lot of exploding features hidden in the structures to play out Peter Parker and MJ defending the city against the menacing water creature. It’s interesting that LEGO designers chose to incorporate a real minifig into Hydro-Man instead of just making him brick-built like Molten Man. The other three minifigs are MJ, Peter Parker (with interchangeable Spider-Man head), and Mysterio. In the video-review below, you can see the set and minifigs in more detail. 471 pieces. Price: $39.99 – BUY HERE

#76130 LEGO STARK JET AND DRONE ATTACK: This is the largest set in the LEGO Spider-Man: Far from Home collection, featuring the Stark Jet airplane, a couple of drones, and four minifigs. The jet has a nice and sleek design with adjustable wings, 2 stud-shooters, lots of storage compartments for minifigs and energy bombs, and an opening hatch. The drones also have stud-shooting functions. The minifigs included are Happy Hogan, Nick Fury, Mysterio, and Spider-Man. The jet measures over 6” (10cm) high, 9” (38cm) long and 3” (25cm) wide. Good set with fun play-features, but the price is a little too high. 504 pieces, Price $69.99 – BUY HERE

Overall, the LEGO Spider-Man: Far from Home collection looks solid with three good sets that recreate some of the most important scenes in the movie. The minifigs also look excellent with accurate details and finely designed prints. In the player below, I have included video-reviews and speed-builds of all three sets by JANGBRiCKS so you can check them out in detail.

Molten Man is awesome! I like it better than Jang. Yes, it looks a little weird from the side, but I like the head as is.

I like the molten man the most too. Hydro man is a little boring and too small. The jet is too close to the recent Overwatch jet.

Too bad the jet’s windshield doesn’t match the white of the pieces. Otherwise a great looking jet. I like the lava monster too. So many translucent orange pieces!

All these marvel sets look so awesome . It’s hard to decide on what to get. On one hand I can get the stark jet and the hall of armor to expand Stark’s industry. On the other hand get the smaller and inexpensive sets to save money. Now that I found out that the sets that I thought would come out in early June is now coming out on August first . ( except the space mission theme for city). I’m torn on the matter because there’s the compound battle set to which can be used for anything. 🤔 back to the hall of armor set , I have an older set from iron man I think it’s call” Malibu mansion attack or ambush.” I’m thinking of attaching both sets together.

That might work really well with the Hall of Armor and the Malibu mansion. I have seen some really need mash-ups of various sets from the Super Heroes line. My favorites are the medium size sets because the small ones are often too simple and the large ones take too long to build, too much space to display, and too expensive. It’s just something to consider.

I’m inclined to wait until the movie is released. Is that a good idea? Or will the sets be out of stock by then?

    • admin May 21, 2019, 4:28 PM

Yes, sure! You can wait. The sets will be available for quite a while as they are new releases.

  • Legostuff14 May 21, 2019, 6:37 PM

Thanks . I will , my other idea is if I get the compound battle set ,
I think I can use it for my Jurassic Park theme and make it the scientists headquarters. Again , not sure . Just getting the one set I’ll save money as to buying the two sets. But, which one will be the most fun to work with? That’s the question. Lego always puts a Monkey Wrench in my thought process. Lol!

Do we know when the summer sets get released? Are they coming in June or later? I need to budget and I was wondering which order to get the sets I like.

    • admin May 21, 2019, 8:56 PM

It will be a gradual release with some of the sets coming next month, and some as late as August. Being spread out like that actually helps with budgeting.

  • Legostuff14 May 22, 2019, 11:45 AM

Looking at my Avenger sets that I already have and the fact that the first wave of summer sets are going to be space/ city sets . I thought about maybe expanding my city sets instead because I’m in a dire need to get a fire station and this fire station that’s out now will connect with my water front scene as well as the prison Island set that I have. Oh, and my Coast Guard / beach people as well.

    • admin May 22, 2019, 8:45 PM

Oh, you have the Prison Island? That’s a fantastic set! You can really make it fun story too by expanding on it. 😀

  • Legostuff14 May 22, 2019, 10:58 PM

That’s what I’m shooting for, to create with something I already have and expand on it. I’m also thinking of getting the fire plane as well. It’s funny how I confuse myself on deciding what to buy and I always land on city sets. Maybe because city sets can be used anyway you want and it’s not as complicated as other themes like Star Wars or Avengers or themes like that. I’ve been meaning to bulk up on my fire station and vehicles for a while now. I already have the fire boat ( the big one) so, it can put out fire in prison Island. At least that’s my story line.

    • admin May 23, 2019, 2:58 PM

So… the prisoners set fire to the island? I want to hear more about that! 😈

      • Håkan May 23, 2019, 5:08 PM

It seemed like a good idea at the time…

  • Legostuff14 May 23, 2019, 8:58 PM

Actually it wasn’t the prisoners it was a lightning storm a lighting bolt struck the power box and burst into flames. The police managed to send a distress call to one of there Patrol boats that was in range to get the call. The patrol boat contacted the Coast Guard and the Coast Guard contacted the fire department . The rescue beings! 👨‍🚒

    • admin May 23, 2019, 9:21 PM

      Okay, good beginning… go on… 😀

    • sammy May 23, 2019, 9:29 PM

Are you sure that’s the real story? Wasn’t The Joker, or some other wacky character involved with that lightning bolt? Maybe the whole thing is a coverup. Watch out! 😀

  • Legostuff14 May 24, 2019, 7:05 PM

What’s the name of the Electro character from Ultra Agents, it turns out that he was involved. So, in the mean time some of the prisoners try to escape but got eaten by the Sharks when they reach the water. The city police tried calling the Ultra Agents to stop Electro but instead Spider-Man stepped in and offered his services. Spider-Man couldn’t do it himself so he called Iron Man for backup.

    • admin May 24, 2019, 10:51 PM

Ah! Now it all makes sense! I knew there was more to the story! 😀
