The offer is valid on all purchases at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.

FREE LEGO SPACE PATCH: Until February 9th, LEGO VIP members will receive a free exclusive space patch with the purchase of the brand new #21321 LEGO Ideas International Space Station. Originally designed and submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform by LEGO fan Christoph Ruge, the model is packed with authentic ISS details, including a poseable Canadarm2 and 2 rotating joints that coincide with 8 adjustable solar panels. The set also comes with a display stand, a buildable mini NASA space shuttle, and three mini cargo spacecrafts, plus two astronaut micro-figures. The148-page booklet is full of fascinating ISS facts, and information about the LEGO fan designer as well as the official set designers. The finished model measures over 7” (20cm) high, 12” (31cm) long, and 19” (49cm) wide. Comes with 864 pieces. Price: $69.99 – BUY HERE

NEW LEGO BRICKHEADZ SETS: There are three new LEGO BrickHeadz sets; the #40377 LEGO BrickHeadz Donald Duck, the #40378 LEGO BrickHeadz Goofy & Pluto, and the #40380 LEGO BrickHeadz Easter Sheep. They are available at the LEGO BrickHeadz section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO EASTER BUNNY HOUSE SET: Another Easter set is the #853990 LEGO Easter Bunny House with 59 pieces and the price of $7.99. It features a buildable chicken house with chicken, a scooter and plants, an Easter Bunny minifigure, and a cardboard house/packaging combo. The set makes a cute little gift. LEGO CLASSIC BRICKS & ANIMALS SET: There is a new LEGO Classic brick box with 1,500 colorful pieces and instructions to build ten animals: a peacock, bull, penguin, dinosaur, unicorn, ostrich, snail, hippo, panda, and giraffe. Of course, LEGO Classic sets are all about free-building, so you can build anything else you want, or just use the pieces to boost your loose pieces collection. The #11011 LEGO Classic Bricks & Animals set is $59.99, and available at the LEGO Classic section of the Online LEGO Shop.

There are also some special events happening at LEGO stores. February 1-29, you can explore some new features of the LEGO City sets (light & sound, magnetics, and ripcord) with the help of the LEGO store Brick Specialists. On February 11th, there is an 18+ only building event to build a Valentine’s Day bear. February 17th is Minifigure Swap Monday, and February 20th is for a Build-Unbuild-Rebuild event in a group setting and hosted by a Brick Specialist (intended for ages 6-14). To register for these events, call your local LEGO store.

Another important event this month is that the LEGO Masters TV show will premier on Fox on February 5th. We talked about this event already (see links at the end of this post), but to recap, teams of LEGO enthusiasts will go head-to-head to face all kinds of building challenges with infinite possibilities and an unlimited supply of LEGO bricks. Throughout the competition, host Will Arnett and expert judges will encourage the amateur builders, introduce incredible challenges, and put the creations to the test. The competing teams who impress the judges the most will progress to the next round, until the finale, during which the top teams will face off for a cash prize, the ultimate LEGO trophy, and the grand title of LEGO Masters.

Although few new sets were added this month, there are tons of new sets to choose from that were released last month. So, don’t forget to check those out as well as the new sets section of the Online LEGO Shop.

It’s kind of a relief that there are not a lot of new releases. There is still stuff I want to get form January. Also, when are the next star wars sets revealed? I didn’t see those in the toy fair report.

I want that space patch! The ISS looks great too, but fragile? I wonder how it would go with the other space sets, either City or Creator.

Well, it’s in a completely different scale, to begin with, so you’d probably need to attempt some forced perspective

That’s a great idea, Hakan. Like Use the moon lander in the foreground with the ISS hovering over it! 😀

I forgot the ISS was so inexpensive. $70 is not bad at all! Unless I’m completely overestimating the size. And I could use those printed solar panel tiles. I might get that and the free patch. Nothing else interests me this month.

Oh, looks like we’re on the new website?! It looks great on my phone! Good job, admin! 😀

    • Thita (admin) February 2, 2020, 4:56 PM

Yes, the new The is now fully operational. If you guys run into any issues let me know. I’m also happy about the mobile version. 🙂

  • Håkan February 2, 2020, 6:15 PM

It looks unusual, but I guess I could get used to it after a while.

I’ll tell you if I’d come across some problems.

    • Thita (admin) February 2, 2020, 6:20 PM

Hm… that makes me concerned. What looks unusual to you? It should look pretty much the same as the previous version except that we now only have one sidebar (two sidebars don’t play well with mobile). I transferred most of the essential stuff over from the previous left sidebar to the current right one. But then again, due to browser catching or some other issues, it’s possible that the site might not look exactly right to you.

P.S. I don’t have catching and the CDN turned back on yet. This could make the site load a bit slow. If all goes as planned, I will have my developer turned that back on next weekend.

Everything looks fine for me. I like the clean layout and mobile-friendliness. I have been so busy I haven’t had time to build anything, but I would really like to get the Chinese New Year sets.

I mostly meant it as “uncommon/ different”, but otherwise, the main change for me with Microsoft Edge on the laptop is that the text is a lot bigger. It’s manageable, though.

    • Thita (admin) February 3, 2020, 9:51 AM

I did change the text size from 16 to 18. This is actually something I have been planning to do for quite some time, as it is the recommended text size these days that supposed to look good on all screens, but it didn’t make sense with the very narrow middle column we had before. Now that we have a lot more space, I was finally able to implement it. In addition, the theme we are using also has something called Golden Ratio Typography, which automatically adjust character and line spacing for all types of screen sizes. It’s actually a pretty neat technology, if you think about it. It allows people to easily read websites from the tiniest of screens all the way to big screen TVs! 😀

P.S.: You can resize your screen by just hitting CTRL + the plus or minus keys on your keyboard. 150% is the default, but I personally like to have it at 115%.

  • Håkan February 3, 2020, 1:06 PM

I have 100%. Still felt a bit biggish on my laptop… Oh, well…

    • Thita (admin) February 3, 2020, 1:08 PM

Don’t forget old AFOLs! We will all appreciate bigger text as we get older! 😀

  • Håkan February 3, 2020, 5:05 PM

    I’ll turn 40 in December… I’m near-sighted, though…

    • Thita (admin) February 3, 2020, 5:43 PM

40 is a great number! Take care of your vision, teeth, and hearing! I’m going to the dentist tomorrow to have my regular cleaning done, so I’m in the mood for maintenance. 😀

  • Håkan February 3, 2020, 8:17 PM

Damn. Dentist. Don’t remind me. Healthcare is probably cheaper in Sweden than in the USA, but dental care is still a considerable cost…

    • Thita (admin) February 3, 2020, 9:50 PM

Yeah, I was surprised to learn just recently that in Canada, the UK, and most of Europe, dental care is quite expensive. Here, healthcare is very expensive in general, but dental is reasonable. There is dental insurance, but it’s basically just a payment management plan. I always just pay out of pocket as it’s not so expensive. Go twice a year to “get my teefies sharpened”, and I’m good to go. 😀
