Coming Up Soon: LEGO House Fan Day Online Live

On Thursday, September 24, 2020, the LEGO House will host an online Fan Day for the entire LEGO fan community – LEGO fans from all over the world are invited to join in for free. This is a replacement for the AFOL Day at LEGO House event that was scheduled for September 27th, but had to be canceled due to COVID-19. During the online event, LEGO representatives will touch upon LEGO product development, LEGO building instructions, new fan created displays at the LEGO House, LEGO quality, and a special greeting from Skærbæk Fan Weekend. You have the possibility to join in for the entire three hours the events take place, or pick and choose from the sessions. Please note that although the events are free, registration is required. Details below.

The host for the online LEGO House Fan Day will be Play Agent Emil Saaby who’ll introduce all the events and speakers. You will need to pre-register for the event at LEGOHouse.com/FanDay by marking the sessions you are interested in and entering your e-mail address. You’ll receive more information about the sessions you have signed up for by e-mail a few days prior to the event.

Please be aware that the LEGO House operates on Billund time (CEST), so you will need to convert the timings to your own time zone. But just to give you an idea, the first sessions, which starts at 13:00 Billund time, would be 4 AM in Los Angeles and 7 AM in New York. And the last session, which is 15:00-16:00 Billund time, would be 6-7 AM in Los Angeles and 9-10 AM in New York.

Session #1: 13:00 – 13:45 CEST (Billund time): Q&A with Poul Schou, LEGO A/S, Senior Vice President Product Development – Poul is looking forward to getting your questions about LEGO product development. He is heading up the Product Development of Product Group 2 and has been in the LEGO Company for more than 30 years.

Session #2: 13:45 – 14:00 CEST (Billund time): LEGO House: New MOCs in Yellow Zone – LEGO Master Builder Stuart Harris will introduce some of the new cool models which have just now been installed in the Yellow Zone of the LEGO House.

Session #3: 14:00 – 14:45 CEST (Billund time): LEGO Building Instructions with Kim Yde Larsen, Senior Director Building Instruction Experience – Meet Kim, who is an expert on building instructions. In this session, you can discover how important BIs are to make a great building experience and the evolvement of building instruction moving into the digital area.

Session #4: 14:45 – 14:55 CEST (Billund time): Status from Skærbæk Fan Weekend – Skærbæk Fan Weekend was unfortunately also forced to cancel due to COVID-19. Stephan Sander will talk about the 2020 situation and explain what happened.

Session #5: 15:00 – 16:00 CEST (Billund time): LEGO Quality with Bjarke Schønwandt, Quality Director – Get the latest update and overview on LEGO quality and ask your questions about quality directly to Bjarke – who by many AFOLs is known as Director of Perceived Quality.

Again, all sessions are free of charge, but require registration. You might also consider noting down your questions ahead of time so you can ask the various speakers. Event host Emil Saaby will manage the questions throughout the event and will do his best to have them answered. If you would like to register, go to LEGOHouse.com/FanDay.

If your schedule allows, I encourage you to participate in the event. This is a fantastic opportunity to talk with LEGO employees directly, ask questions, and hear their insights. If you have any questions before the event, feel free to ask in the comment section below.

Thanks! This sounds interesting. I don’t know if I can make it to the whole thing, but I will try to listen in.

Thanks for sharing this. I think I will be free at that time, but I have to double check the timings.

Thanks, it’s not the best time for me, but I will try to catch at least the beginning. Can we register to all the events and don’t show up? Or how does that work?

Nothing will happen. It’s not like they will send the Lego police to get you. They are probably doing preregistration to judge the interestes. I ticked everything, but I probably won’t make it for the whole time either.
