It was only a few days ago when I shared with you the first images of the LEGO Lord of the Rings minifigures. This morning I got an email from my contact at LEGO with further images of the upcoming LEGO Lord of the Rings characters. (You can read my previous post here: LEGO Lord of the Rings Minifigures – Pictures)
The first image is the fourth in the series of posters released by LEGO, featuring one of the most interesting Lord of the Rings characters; Gollum. I’m not sure if LEGO is planning to release a separate poster for each of the LEGO Lord of the Rings characters – it would be pretty sweet. Here are the other three posters released so far:
The following image is a line-up of the Fellowship of the Ring, aka. the LEGO Lord of the Rings “good-guys”: Legolas – the elf, Boromir, Aragorn, Gandalf the Gray, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin – the hobbits, and Gimli – the dwarf. (Click on the image for full view.)
And here we have the LEGO Lord of the Rings ‘bad-guys”: an Uruk-hai, Gollum, a Ringwraith, an Orc of Moria, and an Orc of Mordor. (Click on the image for full view.)
I really like the “good-guys”, as I have mentioned in the previous post. As far as the baddies go, I absolutely love the Uruk-hai and can see myself getting a whole army of those savages. I like the Orcs too. It appears that their ear is part of the hair-attachment, like on the LEGO elves, but longer and pointier. Nicely done! The Ringwraith looks scary enough, although it would have been nice if they are taller to make them more menacing. And I’m not so sure about Gollum. I appreciate that LEGO didn’t go with just a short-legged minifig, but put some serious effort into creating a new mold. Gollum is not an easy character to put into LEGO-form, so all in all I’m not disappointed, but I think he could be better. And he definitely needs a fish! 😮
Here are close-ups for each of the LEGO Lord of the Rings minifigures for your further viewing pleasure! These are from LEGO’s Facebook Page. Click on any of the images to enlarge. (Thanks, Chris, for the link!) 😉
What do you think? And what about the other LEGO Lord of the Rings characters? How do you like them so far? Share your thoughts below! 🙂

thAnks IT LOOks COOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!
They look nice, except for gollum – the head is cool but the body does not work for me… Love the uruk hai!
Yatkuu, I thought of the same thing; I like Gollum’s head, but somehow the body doesn’t seem right. Yeah, the Uruk-hai is awesome! 😀
i think that gollum’s body looks just fine, since he’s always crouching down.
what gullum is the coolest of them
You have a contact from LEGO? This site seems kinda official!
Toy, I have several contacts at LEGO. Nothing extraordinary about that though. LEGO keeps in touch with all LEGO clubs, larger LEGO fan websites, etc. We get news, press releases, upcoming sales news, etc. LEGO reps are very nice people and a pleasure to interact with. 🙂
I love them all! Gollum looks great! I love how they made the new orks! Can’t wait until we see the cave troll! “The precious!!!” Gollum 😀
I’m wanting to see the Eomer minifig pics. My wife is hoping he has the front-and-back face printing and that one of them is his crazy attack face.
No Eomer yet, but yeah, I would also love to see him in minifig form! 🙂
yep go on lego.com they do its so cool
i can’t wait until the lego game comes out! i totally want to play the part with Shelob!
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they all look great.
where are the ents?
George, the summer Lord of the Rings LEGO sets will only be the first wave. There will be more coming. I can’t say yet if there will be some ents or not, but I would sure love to see them as well! 🙂
Hey, Thanks a ton for the pics! They are a great addend to my fledgling LEGO blog. I really like the RingWraith and the Uruk Hai. Feel free to visit my LEGO blog at http://masterofthebrick.blogspot.com/
So sorry, your comment got caught in my spam-folder. Just found it. Yes, LEGO Lord of the Rings is awesome! 😀
Thanks for responding! Do you agree that LEGO should work on moveable short legs?? Such as on the hobbits or Gimli?
I have seen some mods from LEGO customizers who came up with a very simple solution to short, movable legs. I’m not sure why LEGO is not going that direction, but yeah, it would be a great idea! 🙂
haha cool. Have you seen anything about a LEGO LOTR game?
No, not yet, but I’m sure there is going to be one! 😉
hmm. I really can’t wait for that. 😀
UPDATE: I just posted some review videos of the upcoming Lord of the Rings sets. See here: LEGO Lord of the Rings Videos. Enjoy! 😀
Uruk-Hai the best 😀
but where is Saruman and Sauron? I hope they made it
They all look very good and detialed I like them all except for Gollum. Gollum looks like his just squatting down. They should have had his legs more a part like a frog and his hands down on the ground.
I think there should be entire Lego Lotr themed armies-
imagine Easterlings or Haradrim or Dol-Amroth in lego form =)
Pat, yeah, that would be incredible! I have actually seen some pretty awesome (by that I mean really big)LEGO fan built LOTR scenes. I should probably do a post on them. LEGO fans are a very creative bunch. All we need from LEGO is lots and lots of battle-packs! 😀
