LEGO Lord of the Rings – the Orcs Story

We always hear the Lord of the Rings saga from the side of the “good-guys”, but what about looking at it from the perspective of some of the lowliest characters; the Orcs. Here is a short LEGO stop-motion video telling the Orcs’ side of the story, created by the BrotherhoodWorkshop. This is one of the best LEGO stop-motion videos I have ever seen. Check it out! 🙂

See? You haven’t thought of the Orcs this way before, did you? The main LEGO Lord of the Rings set featured in this video is the #9476 LEGO Lord of the Rings Orc Forge. It also contains elements from #9474 LEGO Lord of the Rings Helm’s Deep, #9470 LEGO Lord of the Rings Shelob Attacks, and #9471 LEGO Lord of the Rings Uruk-Hai Army. There are also some random elements from the Collectible LEGO minifigure series, such as the laptop and coffee-cup. 😛

So what do you think? Are the Orcs really bad, or are they just misunderstood? And how did you like the video? Share your thoughts and comments below! 😉

After all. they were just following orders. I mean who whouldn’t you want to get angry. The dark lord or an elf king.

One of my biggest pet peeves with many brick films is that they are often well done, but “innaccurate”. They often sub out the official figs ( or in some cases official figures were not available at the time of the filming) with other LEGO figures. While this is not always inherently a bad thing, it often makes some brick films look dated and not as good as it could have in my opinion. This is not the case here, and I thank the filmer for using the official set figures. Also, the animation is great quality and its also pretty fun.

Good points, Jacob! What impressed me about this brick-film is that it looks professional in every way; minifigs and parts used, backgrounds, editing, music… hope to see more from these guys! 😀

Agreed. Very high quality film. Loved that it was set to the actual audio track of the movie. And I’m in awe of the lighting. very hard to achieve results like that!

uruk-hai aren’t misunderstood, because sauruman says stuff about them, proving it. but orcs are really elves, the Quendi, and i think the leaders are just giving them a hard time. hilarious movie, though. 😆
