LEGO Star Wars HH-87 Starhopper pictures

As you probably remember we talked about the LEGO Star Wars summer sets a few weeks ago (see: 2013 LEGO Star Wars Summer Sets Pictures), but we only had a blurry image of the #75024 LEGO Star Wars HH-87 Starhopper. Since then the official images became available, so I thought to share them with you. First let’s start with the box! ๐Ÿ™‚

#75024 LEGO Star Wars HH-87 Starhopper

As you can see the LEGO Star Wars Starhopper is a quite unusual looking ship, andย unless you have been watching the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series you might not be familiar with it. According to Wookieepedia (the Star Wars wiki) the HH-87 Starhopper was a starfighter used commonly by various factions of the criminal underworld. Notably, the craft saw widespread use by the Hutt crime-families to patrol the skies above their homeworld, Nal Hutta, and to hunt down wayward debtors. The craft’s design was largely influenced by the tastes of the Hutt criminal empire; with visible armor-platings and a prominent prow, the Starhopper displayed the Hutts’ aggressiveness. The craft fell into the hands of various other seedy organizations, including members of the Zygerrian Slave Empire. Equipped with twin blaster-cannons and compact stabilizer wings, the long-range craft was suited to a various number of activities carried out by underworld organizations. Here is a picture of the original HH-87 as a reference.

As you can see, LEGO did a pretty good job capturing the rough and rugged look of the HH-87 Starhopper. It looks like the wings fold, making it look even more like the original.ย Below is another picture showing the details, including the three minifigures; Cad Bane, Nikto Guard, and Obi-Wan Kenobi disguised as Rako Hardeen.ย A small speeder is also included. There are no details as of yet of the piece-count or the pricing. (You can click on the picture for larger view.)

I’ve never seen the clone wars but this one is nice. I like how the wings fold up. (do they do it in the show?) to answer my question. silly question, of course they can! right?

    • admin May 6, 2013, 12:53 PM

      Right. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I own all of the first 4 season of The Clone Wars on DVD. If you haven’t watched it, it’s amazing! But one thing, they really do get much better as the seasons get later. Some of the earlier stuff was a bit annoying.

Thanks for sharing that! Good to know! ๐Ÿ™‚

Nice set! I especially like the colors! I’m guessing this thing is priced around $50.00 right?

  • Sam Wolf May 6, 2013, 1:59 PM

Why is this the only post on home screen? Isn’t there usually two?

    • admin May 6, 2013, 4:39 PM

Sam, I changed it to one as it makes the homepage load faster. However all the previous ones are under it as teasers. I will try this format out for a little bit and see what you guys think. If you don’t like it I can always change it back to two. Let me know what you think. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • gid617 May 6, 2013, 9:53 PM

I noticed that too… it does seem to make it load faster but I never had problems with that before, and two posts was kind of nice. It’ll just take some getting used to though I think! One thing that bothers me is that there is now an odd number of “teaser” posts, which leaves a blank space after the last one… is that on purpose?

        • admin May 7, 2013, 8:37 AM

Geneva, if you guys don’t like it I will change it back. It was just something I thought to try. My developer always hammers me for the importance of having pages load fast, especially the homepage. With two posts we often had quite a bit of pictures/videos on the front page, which I sometimes worry about slowing down the page, but if you don’t notice much difference and if you liked it better, we just go back to two posts as before. This is exactly what I was looking for; your feedback. ๐Ÿ˜‰

As far as the odd number of teasers, with one posts only at the homepage we would either have odd number of teasers at the front page, or at the categories, as what I can choose is the number of total posts/teasers. Since right now it is set to 10, on the front page we have now 1 full post and 9 teasers, and in the categories 10 teasers. Previously we had 2 full posts on the front, plus 8 teasers, so that’s why it looked even on both places. Well, actually it was 8 total, but I changed it to 10 so more shows up on the categories pages… again, I’m just playing around. And if you don’t like it, you can just tell me to stop it and go back to building some LEGO. ๐Ÿ™„

I did another Mobile-Phone-Check. Still unopenable.

            • admin May 7, 2013, 10:55 AM

I actually changed it back to how it was, with two posts on the front, as I got several emails about it people preferring two. As far as mobile phones, it does work fine on mine. Maybe check an internal page that only has one post? TBB is really not designed for mobiles, but as far as I know it works fairly okay – though obviously loading slow due to the amount of pictures/videos we have.

              • admin May 7, 2013, 11:04 AM

Okay, try this; instead of coming directly to TBB, go to Google Search and do a search for theBrickBlogger.com. It will be of course the first result, click on it. Google will automatically convert the site to a phone-friendly format for you. It makes it load much faster. ๐Ÿ˜‰

That looks awsome and in the show Rako Hardeen was one of my favorite characters I so am going to get that set

  • Frenchfry July 18, 2013, 7:30 PM

Is the Starhopper set a single craft . Or a ship design with multiple duplicates of them?

    • admin July 18, 2013, 8:45 PM

You mean in the Star Wars Story? There is a a ship design that was used for multiple purposes. You can read more about it on the Star Wars wiki. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Frenchfry July 19, 2013, 11:17 AM

Like for instance the SlaveI is single ship and deson’t have multiple copies. There is only one of those ship’s in existe4ance and it belongs to the fett’s. Is the Starhopper set a single craft or are there multiple copies of them?

How much will this set cost in U.S dollars?

    • admin July 19, 2013, 11:56 AM

It is a series of ships, commonly used by the Hutt and other underworld elements. So yeah, it is not just one ship. There were plenty of them. The Hutt used them for patrol and their seedy missions. ๐Ÿ˜‰
