LEGO Unicorn Suit minifigure & more!

I found an interesting LEGO minifig via Reddit the other day in a unicorn costume! It was originally spotted by a Twitter user at the back of the latest LEGO Club Magazine. The cute little bugger is most likely going to be in the next series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures, and joining the ranks of other costumed minifigs. 🙂

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Unicorn

So looking at the Collectible Minifigures Unicorn, I thought it would be a good idea to take an inventory of all the costumed characters we got so far. As you probably know, there has been twelve regular LEGO Collectible Minifigure series, along with the LEGO The Simpsons and The LEGO Movie collections. In Series 1 and Series 2 there were no costumed minifigs, but in Series 3 we got the first one: the Gorilla Suit Guy. He proved to be very popular, so in Series 5 the Lizard Man was added (both released in 2011). The next costumed minifig showed up in Series 7 the following year (2012): the Bunny Suit Guy – another very popular minifig. In 2013 we got the Chicken Suit Guy in Series 9 and the Bumblebee Girl in Series 10. And this year, in The LEGO Movie Series we have the Panda Suit Guy and in Series 12 the Piggy Guy. So to line them all up:

LEGO Collectible Minifigures in Costumes
  • LEGO Minifigures Series 3 – Gorilla Suit Guy
  • LEGO Minifigures Series 5 – Lizard Man
  • LEGO Minifigures Series 7 – Bunny Suit Guy
  • LEGO Minifigures Series 9 – Chicken Suit Guy
  • LEGO Minifigures Series 10 – Bumblebee Girl
  • The LEGO Movie Minifigures Series – Panda Suit Guy
  • LEGO Minifigures Series 12 – Piggy Guy
  • LEGO Minifigures Series 13(?) – Unicorn Suit Girl

Since it seems like LEGO minifigs in animal suits has become a staple within the Collectible Minifigure Series, people started collecting them. After all they are really cute, very unique, and great for a Halloween scene or other creative applications. The currently available minifigures you can get is Series 12 at the Online LEGO Shop, although The LEGO Movie Series is also available at some retailers. For previous LEGO Collectible Minifig Series you can check BrickLink or eBay.

So what do you think? How do you like the costumed LEGO minifigs? Do you collect them? Do you have a favorite? And what do you think of the Unicorn Suit Girl? Will she be in Series 13? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

Ah this has reminded me of the somewhat elusive Mr Gold. Its interesting how since the hype has died down very few collectors I know mention him!

Back on topic I have the lizard man for my son but the unicorn (if it comes) is a must!

Yeah, Mr. Gold was a controversial little guy. I think most people just gave up on ever finding him and they want to get him out of their minds. As a minifigure I don’t think he was that great or useful – just an interesting novelty item. And yes, the unicorn is a cutsie! 😛

I have both the Gorilla suit guy and the Lizard suit man.
They are both awesome minifigs, and I really like how the lizard man doubles up as Godzilla.
Just wondering, do the gorilla tribe in Chima have the same heads as the Gorilla suit guy, or is it a different mould?

    • admin November 8, 2014, 1:04 PM

Good question! The Chima Gorilla tribe minifigs and the Gorilla Suit guy has a very different head-mould. The Gorilla Suit Guy actually has a more realistic head – meaning; it more looks like a real Gorilla head. The Chima Gorillas have a more square head-mould that sits higher. I believe this is because the Gorilla Tribe often wear armor pieces, so they had to cut make the bottom of the head-piece shorter.

Also the eyes, the Gorillas Suit Guy has eye holes that mach up with minifigure eyes, were Chima does not.

I kinda of wonder if anyone ever thought of making a Mario kart like game with the collectable minifigs

    • Kim November 8, 2014, 2:41 PM

Oh that would be awesome!!! Back in the day, they did have a Lego kart racing game on Nintendo 64 called Lego Racers. I had it and it was ok but not nearly as cool as Mario Kart. I think with updated technology and the skill that the maker of the current Lego video games they could probably make something pretty cool.

I have Chicken Suit guy and Piggy guy. I really wanted Panda guy from the movie minifigures but haven’t acquired him yet.

The Panda Gut is so cool, and his baby panda is sooo CUTE!

I saw this on just2good’s channel, and he uploaded another video a few days ago with more series 13 minifigs 😀 🙂 !

    • admin November 9, 2014, 10:24 AM

Yeah, since I wrote this post more minifigs appeared. I don’t fint this series as exciting as the current one, but there are at least some minifigs I would like. 😛

      • Håkan November 11, 2014, 12:30 PM

You could probably just google on just2good and YouTube. His videos are not hidden in any way.

Hey Admin is there going to be a post today?

    • admin November 9, 2014, 11:57 AM

There is one. I think it posted a little bit late because we had some updates going on. But just check the latest news. It should be there. 😉

I hope to get Unicorn Suit Girl. I like the costume minifigs. They add a bit of whimsy to the collections. Lizard suit guy is my favorite.

  • Thorsten November 9, 2014, 2:26 PM

    love them!!!

  • ninja of stealth November 10, 2014, 12:39 PM

I did not notice that! Was it in the latest issue? What page? Did you already say the answers to this stuff in the post?

    • admin November 10, 2014, 3:04 PM

This picture is in the European version of the LEGO Club Magazine. Not the USA version. 😉

I think that the unicorn is very ugly. It’s mainly that hat, but I will be going out of my way to avoid getting this one. Although I know that my sister will want it. And on a side note, my little brother collects all of the suit guys and girls.

Visited the Lego Store in Copenhagen yesterday, and built three custom minifigs.

Found a head not listed on BrickLink, this dual sided head, as a single sided with only the blue lips side printed. There’s a few listed on BrickLink with the variation marked, so even if it’s possibly rare, it doesn’t appear to be much valuable.
