As we have discussed previously, it was revealed at the London Toy Fair that we will be getting official LEGO Scooby-Doo sets this year. At the toy fair no pictures were allowed, however a couple of the 2015 LEGO Scooby-Doo sets have already been revealed through various news channels and added to the Brickset database. So let’s talk about them some more. 🙂
From the London Toy Fair we know that there are going to be five LEGO Scooby-Doo sets in the first wave, and I suspect there is going to be more in the future as Scooby-Doo is getting resurrected through made-for-video movies in the upcoming years (see details in the press-release below). The five sets scheduled for this year are listed here again for your convenience. Prices are between $15 for the smallest set and $90 for the largest one. The sets should be available in August (which means more likely we will start to see them in July).
- #75900 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mummy Museum Mystery
- #75901 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Plane Adventures
- #75902 LEGO Scooby-Doo The Mystery Machine
- #75903 LEGO Scooby-Doo Haunted Lighthouse
- #75904 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Mansion
The #75902 LEGO Scooby-Doo The Mystery Machine set includes the iconic van, a spooky tree, a sandwich, Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, and a zombie. I have to say that it looks excellent. Note that both Shaggy and Fred has new hairpieces, and I really like Scooby as the look is both LEGO-ish and cartoon-ish. The van also looks great, although it seems that most of the elements are stickered, and according to reports from the toy fair, you can’t fit all the characters inside. Still, it looks great and is very true to the original.
The #75904 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Mansion is a set we could probably talk about all day. There are just so many winning details! It is kind of like the #9468 LEGO Monster Fighters Vampyre Castle, but much larger. Also reminds me a bit of the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle, but of course with a different color-scheme. While the mansion looks excellent on the outside, according to those who have seen the set at the toy fair, the inside is just as detailed on the inside, which I’m super happy about. Minifigs included are Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, Vampire, Ghost, and The Black Knight. Again, here not the new hair-pieces, which look great. Also, notice the pumpkin at the front of that awesome green house! And those spooky windows! So many winning details here! Below is a good preview video from just2good, who analyses the new sets in more detail, and also shows you close-ups of the set. And below that, you can find the official press-release as well with more information.
LEGO Group Partners with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to Announce First-Ever LEGO® Building Sets Inspired by Classic Animated Series Scooby-Doo™
-New LEGO® Scooby-Doo animated content to roll-out, including 22-minute special and made-for-video movie releases, from Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group-
LONDON, BRITISH TOY AND HOBBY ASSOCIATION TOY FAIR (January 23, 2015) – The LEGO Group today announced its partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to develop a collection of LEGO® building sets inspired by the timeless and beloved animated franchise, Scooby-Doo™. Five new building sets will bring the zaniness of classic characters including Shaggy, Scooby and the entire gang to life in LEGO form for the first time ever, and are scheduled to hit store shelves in August.
In another first, the Scooby Gang will be animated in LEGO form. In 2015, fans can look forward to a 22-minute LEGO special, featuring Scooby-Doo, and produced in partnership with Warner Bros. Animation. In addition, Warner Bros. Animation will also be producing made-for-video movie titles, which will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in the coming years.
“Fans always wonder which properties may come to life in LEGO form, and this year we are thrilled to bring all of the mystery, humor and hijinks of the Scooby-Doo universe to life in LEGO toys and animated content,” said Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing & entertainment at The LEGO Group. “We constantly review properties to find those with global reach, great characters and stories and inherent building and role play opportunities, and we think that Scooby-Doo delivers on all of these while also driving strong appeal among collectors and today’s parents who have strong nostalgia for the LEGO brand from their own childhood.”
“Scooby-Doo and his whole Gang are known and loved by kids and adults alike around the world and we are proud to partner with LEGO Group to continue to entertain new generations of fans and bring everyone’s favorite Great Dane to the unique interactive world of LEGO play,” said Karen McTier, executive vice president, Domestic Licensing and Worldwide Marketing, WBCP.
“As animators, we always aim to find fun and inventive ways to connect with the audience and tell new stories with our characters,” said Sam Register, president, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series. “Scooby-Doo and LEGO fans share so much affection for the characters and the brand, and we are so pleased to finally bring these two worlds together.”
LEGO Scooby-Doo Products: Fans will instantly recognize all of their favorite Scooby-Doo characters and icons, including Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, Velma and the Mystery Machine, as well as all the ghosts, goblins and other villains that make Scooby-Doo adventures complete in sets such as the Mummy Museum Mystery, the Haunted Lighthouse and the Mystery Mansion. LEGO Scooby-Doo products range from $14.99 to $89.99 (USD) and will be available in toy stores nationwide beginning in August.
I don’t always like licensed LEGO sets, but I believe Scooby-Doo is a good match for LEGO. Of course we haven’t seen all the sets yet, but the ones that have been released so far look excellent. What do you think? Are you looking forward to the LEGO Scooby-Doo sets? Or this isn’t a theme that you are interested in? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I feel like this theme will have little play value like the Spongebob sets which were OK for display but didn’t have a lot of interesting stories or scenarios to play out. I could be wrong because Scooby Doo is a but more action based than Spongebob so they could be great sets. I’ll probably pick up the Mystery Machine just because it’s the Mystery Machine =P
I agree, although there is one major difference; these are regular minifigs with very useful new parts, whereas SpongeBob minifigs were pretty useless for anything else. Also, as you said; Scooby-Doo is more action based so there is more potential for great sets. We shall see. 🙂
Wait WHAT!?! How did I miss out on that post with the UK Toy Fair stuff!? I just looked at it now and how unlucky was I to forget to look here on my daily basis ON THAT DAY. Anyways, I think my brother/s will love the Mystery Machine, since it’s a car, and it’s the MYSTERY MACHINE. Who wouldn’t get it? 🙂 =P
You probably missed it because it was Sunday. Most of our regular readers are not around that time. But it was the only day I could fit it in. Anyway, you can go back and read it now, and we will talk about the German Toy Fair tomorrow, so don’t miss that one. 😉
I won’t be buying any of these because I’m not really into Scooby-doo (honestly, I thought Scooby-doo was done around 15 years ago. ) But as for the Scooby-doo fans, good for them. The minifigures are cool. Lastly, and honestly, I don’t think Scooby-doo is going to last, sadly.
I’m not a big Scooby Doo fan but the mansion may be a good replacement for not getting the haunted house set and I must have a Mystery Machine!
The mansion does look nice, and according to people who have seen it at the toy fairs, it looks just as detailed and fantastic on the inside! 😛
Not really a fan of Scooby Doo but I might’ve get some of these sets because they have new and rare peices not in other legos. The mystery mansion definitely was inspired by the Lego Monsters set. Pretty cool Lego sets though.
My suspicion is that LEGO often test out a license before they sign a deal. Perhaps it is part of the agreement. And this way LEGO has a chance to see how the public responds before locking into a license. LEGO Castle elves and dwarves before LOTR is one of the most recent examples, and now this one of course.
The mansion is (annoyingly) now on my list. I thought for the first time in 4 years there would be no sets over 15 quid I would care about!
Its awesome though! Will probably sell the minifigs and turn it into something else 🙂
I love the look of the Mansion, but I’m not a Scooby Doo fan. (I watched part of one episode like ten years ago but my Mom turned it off because she thought it would scare my younger brother.)
I love scooby doo even if i wasent born in the 70s.i seen the cartones and i love misteries.i total y have to get the sets.
hey admin how come everything i wrote did note apear
What do you mean? I see your comment. 😕
i mean that everything i postes did note apear, only parte of it
All I can think of is perhaps you momentarily lost internet connection?
There has been 23 direct-to-video films produced since 1998, as well as several regular new series. It’s not as much a resurrection as it is an ongoing franchise.
It seems that you are right. Just looked it up on Wikipedia. Interestingly, it doesn’t seem to be as popular with the younger generation. Like they are not even aware of it. I wonder why. 😕
Hey! I am one of the members of brick blogger since…2014? Nope 2013? No 2013? Nope 2012? Yup! But that’s not the point…This is so cool, I need the mansion and the mystery machine. Scooby Dooby-Doo!
You have been around that long? Please speak up more often so we know you are here! We don’t bite! 😛
Yeah, I remember the Lego Ninjago episodes on here!
Yeah, those were the good old days! 😀
I remember a lot of people named their account like Pythor the Snake or Jay the Ninja of Lighting. 🙂
Yeah, I remember that too! 😛
Need to get a LEGO Speed Buggy to recreate the Scooby-Doo/Speed Buggy crossover: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/94223/updates .
Aww, the memories. The 5 sets are spot-on if you have watched the classic episodes. Cute and fun for display and nicely marketed to come out in August, right before Halloween!
Nick, yeah, it seems like LEGO and Scooby-Doo goes well together. And yes, right before Halloween is perfect timing! 😀
Ninjagofan, Scooby Doo made its first debut in 1969, the 60’s. Also, does anyone happen to know what new parts, besides the minifigs and scooby himself, are going to appear in the sets?
These sets are already out. We will be talking about them in more detail tomorrow. 😉
I like SCOOBY DOO! LEGO
SCOOBY DOO! LEGO is cool! and awsome!
