As you will see below, August is a very big month for new LEGO sets, and there are also some freebies, LEGO VIP member specials and more. So without further ado, here is the full list of what’s available this month. 🙂
➡ LEGO PIRATES DOUBLE VIP POINTS & FREE SET: From August 1-14 you can get a free exclusive LEGO Classic Pirates set with purchases of $75 or more. It includes a pirate, a shark, a palm tree and some accessories. While the set is free with any theme, it is a perfect companion for the 2015 LEGO Pirates line. And to help you with your purchase, LEGO VIP members will get Double VIP Points on the #70410 LEGO Pirates Outpost, and the #70413 LEGO Pirates Brick Bounty during the entire month. You can find them under the LEGO Pirates section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO FRIENDS NEW SETS & FREE POLYBAG: From August 1-31, you can get a free LEGO Friends Pop Star Red Carpet set with purchases of $35 or more of LEGO Friends, LEGO Elves, or LEGO Disney Princess sets. August is a huge month for LEGO Friends, with the brand new LEGO Friends Pop Star line that includes the #41103 LEGO Friends Pop Star Recording Studio, #41104 LEGO Pop Star Dressing Room, #41105 LEGO Friends Pop Star Show Stage, #41106 LEGO Friends Pop Star Tour Bus, and #41107 LEGO Friends Pop Star Limo. All of the sets are great, but the most anticipated of all the new LEGO Friends releases is the #41101 LEGO Friends Heartlake Grand Hotel, which is grand in every way. There is also the #41109 LEGO Friends Heartlake Airport with a sweet airplane, and my personal favorite is the #41109 LEGO Friends Heartlake Food Market. You can find all the sets under the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO ELVES NEW SETS: The above mentioned free polybag promotion is also valid for LEGO Elves, and there are two beautiful new sets in this line; the #41077 LEGO Elves Aira’s Pegasus Sleigh, and the #41078 LEGO Elves Skyra’s Mysterious Sky Castle. We reviewed both just a couple of days ago (see: 2015 Summer LEGO Elves Sets Review). You can find them under the LEGO Elves section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO STAR WARS FREE POSTER & NEW SET: There is only one new LEGO Star Wars set listed this month, the #75096 LEGO Star Wars Sith Infilterator. In addition, the fourth LEGO Star Wars Collectible Poster will be available from August 24-30 with any LEGO Star Wars purchase. As we have discussed previously (see: LEGO Star Wars Posters Collection for 2015), there are six free collectible posters – one for each episode – but the time you can get them is quite short so you need to pay attention to the dates. You can find the new sets (along with other recent releases) under the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO NINJAGO NEW SETS: LEGO Ninjago is another theme that got a large and very exciting new wave this month with sets like the #70732 LEGO Ninjago City of Stiix, #70734 LEGO Ninjago Master Wu Dragon, #70735 LEGO Ninjago Ronin R.E.X., #70736 LEGO Ninjago Attack of the Morro Dragon, #70737 LEGO Ninjago Titan Mech Battle, #70738 LEGO Ninjago Final Flight of Destiny’s Bounty, and more. Also, the gorgeous #70751 LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu (see: LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu Coming!) will be available early for LEGO VIP members from August 18-31. The general release for this beautiful set will be in September. I’m pretty sure it will be a hot seller, so get it early. All the new sets are listed under the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO CREATOR FERRARI F40: The #10248 LEGO Creator Ferrari F40 is now available for everyone, not just LEGO VIP members. You can find a full review of this set here: Review of the LEGO Ferrari F40. The set is available under the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO IDEAS BIG BANG THEORY: The long-awaited #21302 LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory is finally available. We have reviewed this set fully here: Review of LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory. You can find it under the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO SCOOBY-DOO NEW SETS: The brand new LEGO Scooby-Doo sets are now available. There are five sets in this line including the #75902 LEGO Scooby-Doo The Mystery Machine, the #75903 LEGO Scooby-Doo Haunted Lighthouse, the #75904 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Mansion, and more. This is a great series to collect as the entire series is barely over $200, and it includes great minifigures, interesting pieces, and new colors. You can find them all under the LEGO Scooby-Doo section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO MINECRAFT NEW SETS: The second wave of minifigure-scale LEGO Minecraft sets is now available. We get four new sets this time, including the #21119 LEGO Minecraft The Dungeon, #21120 LEGO Minecraft The Snow Hideout, #21121 LEGO Minecraft The Desert Autpost, and #21122 LEGO Minecraft The Nether Fortress. If you collect the LEGO Minecraft sets, this is a very nice wave with a good variety of Minecraft terrains. You can find them all (along with the first wave) under the LEGO Minecraft section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO SUPER HEROES NEW SETS: There are two new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets; the #76036 LEGO Super Heroes Carnage’s SHIELD Sky Attack, and the #76037 LEGO Super Heroes Rhino and Sandman Super Villain Team-Up. And two new LEGO DC Super Heroes sets; the #76034 LEGO Super Heroes The Batboat Harbor Pursuit, and the #76035 LEGO Super Heroes Jokerland. The Jokerland in particular is a great set. You can find them all under the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and the LEGO DC Super Heroes sections.
➡ LEGO BIONICLE NEW SETS: LEGO Bionicle is also getting a second wave with five new sets that include a lot of the badguys Bionicle fans have been waiting for; Skull Grinder, Skull Warrior, Skull Slicer, Skull Basher, and Skull Scorpio. Yeah, lots of skulls! You can find them all under the LEGO Bionicle section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO TECHNIC NEW SETS: There are five really amazing new sets in the LEGO Technic line, including three very large and impressive sets; the #42039 LEGO Technic 24 Hours Race Car, the #42042 LEGO Technic Crawler Crane, the #42043 LEGO Technic Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245. The two smaller sets are also very nice; #42036 LEGO Technic Street Motorcycle and #42040 LEGO Technic Fire Plane (which is my favorite). You can find them all under the LEGO Technic section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO CITY NEW SETS: I also wanted to mention a couple of new LEGO City sets. The #60096 LEGO City Deep Sea Operation Base is finally available and is a great addition to the LEGO City Deep Sea line. Also, we get a new train, the #60098 LEGO City Heavy-Haul Train. We talked about this the other day: LEGO City Train on Sale & New Train Coming! You can find both under the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.
See? I told you this was going to be a long list! So many amazing sets to choose from! If you are planning to get some of it now and some later, I would suggest that you focus on the exclusives first as these could very well sell out, and either disappear altogether after a short run, or be on a frustratingly long backorder waiting period. This includes the #21302 LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory, the #10248 LEGO Creator Ferrari F40, and the #70751 LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu. In addition I think the new LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Friends sets could go very fast. I’m sure these will be restocked as they are regular sets, but there could be some waiting period before you can get them, so order as early as you can.
So what do you think? What are you planning to get and build this month? Feel free to share in the comment section below! Also, if you are having trouble choosing which set to get, you are welcome to discuss it here. The LEGO fan community can help you in making a decision. Sometimes all it takes is just talking it through with likeminded friends. 😉

The classic pirates promo is really nice although it isn’t available in europe yet, information on promos here is scarce so I’ll be bombing the customer service with questions again. As I only buy creator buildings and star wars set I can’t say much about most sets but I can say that the sith infiltrator is overpriced way too much, $89,99 for 662 pieces, not to mention the €109,99 in europe. Glad I got the last one. The only promo I saw in europe is the endless winter soldier
Doesn’t your country have LEGO Calendars for each month? That is usually the best way to keep up with promos.
As I live in the netherlands without a LEGO store I don’t have them accesible and for the rest of europe the same calendars as the american ones are used on stores.lego.com
Believe me I have tried looking for it. Nowadays i contact customer service if I see a good promotion but it can be a hassle.
Hm… that’s a shame… it must be really hard to keep track of new promotions without having access to a local calendar. How about in the LEGO shopping catalog? Do they list the promotions there?
Yes there is one but it comes out only once a year is is stated here (http://service.lego.com/en-us/helptopics/online-shop/catalog/request-catalog) so that won’t be of any use. I received it the past two years and it didn’t contain promotions after december. Something says me it is time for LEGO stores in several countries and states.
Yes, you are right, there is time for more LEGO stores and better notifications for LEGO fans in other countries.
Super excited. Ordering the Brick Bounty on Monday when I will get some extra money hopefully. I hope this promotion doesn’t sell it out by then. =D
I thought I really liked most of the sets coming out this month, but now that I consider it, I’m only interested in the Ninjago and Technic. And I won’t be getting any of the sets in those categories soon. 😕 Oh, well.
However, there are quite a few new parts to keep me busy today, such as the Mercedes Arocs 42043’s new pneumatics and lift racks.
Also, I was unaware that “the brand new Scooby-Doo sets are not available.” I thought they came out yesterday. 😉
It was a typo, but the funny thing is that it is actually true. All but one of the Scooby-Doo sets are now on back-order. I’m awesome at telling the future! 🙄
Yes, there are a lot of new parts. I’m most looking forward to getting my hands on those little trans-clear pieces in the Friends Tourist Kiosk.
I’m planning on using two of those clear pieces for a tiny Star Wars display I have in mind, with the recent kid Anakin minifigure in the middle, a silver handled blue bladed lightsaber on one side (mounted with that clear piece), and a black handled red bladed lightsaber on the other (mounted the same way), and all that on a SWCA15 printed plate I was able to obtain. I think it’ll look pretty cool.
Oh, that’s a really good idea! 😀
I believe I’m correct in saying that the Sith Infiltrator has been remade about 3 times. I dunno, but it seems to be a thing in these past few years for the LEGO group to be remaking a ton of older sets; mostly from 2006-2008.
Counting polybags and con exclusives this is the sixth one, but not counting them it’s the fourth.
