There are two fantastic 2016 LEGO Disney Princess sets that were released early by LEGO, and are available now; the #41066 LEGO Disney Princess Anna & Kristoff’s Sleigh Adventure and the #41068 LEGO Disney Princess Arendelle’s Castle Celebration. So let’s take a closer look at these two magical sets related to the Frozen film! 🙂
➡ #41066 LEGO DISNEY PRINCESS ANNA & KRISTOFF’S SLEIGH ADVENTURE: Help Anna and Kristoff bring summer back to Arendelle! Join Anna and Kristoff as they set off on a sleigh adventure to bring summer back to Arendelle. Stop by Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post for hot chocolate and winter supplies, and don’t forget some carrots to feed Sven the reindeer. Then sing along to a few tunes on Kristoff’s banjo before getting a good night’s sleep. In the morning, speed off through the icy wonderland on a Frozen adventure! Includes Anna and Kristoff mini-doll figures plus Sven the reindeer. Sleigh measures over 2” (7cm) high, 6” (17cm) long and 2” (6cm) wide. Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post measures over 3” (10cm) high, 3” (10cm) wide and 1” (5cm) deep. Barn fascia measures over 2” (6cm) high, 3” (10cm) wide and 1” (4cm) deep. 174 pieces. Price: $29.99 – BUY HERE
The star of this set is definitely the reindeer – a brand new animal in the world of LEGO. The sleigh itself is very nice, and there are some great accessories as well. Based on the price-per-piece ratio of 17 cents a piece, this is an expensive set, so it really depends on how much you want that reindeer. See the video-review below for more details on the set to help you decide.
➡ #41068 LEGO DISNEY PRINCESS ARENDELLE CASTLE CELEBRATION: Celebrate Anna’s birthday at Arendelle Castle! Help Elsa and Olaf prepare the courtyard outside for Anna’s party, but keep the Snowgies away from all the sweets! It’s time to wake Anna up and search for her birthday presents hidden in the castle. What kind of presents will she get? Get ready at the vanity in Anna’s bedroom. Search for gifts in the living room with its grandfather clock. Then slide down the roof into the courtyard for cake and birthday celebrations! Includes Elsa and Anna mini-doll figures with outfits from Frozen Fever, plus Olaf the snowman and 3 mini snowmen. Arendelle Castle measures over 10” (27cm) high, 8” (22cm) wide and 5” (13cm) deep. 477 pieces. Price: $59.99 – BUY HERE
This set is an absolute beauty, and a perfect companion for the previously released #41062 LEGO Disney Princess Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle. Elsa and Anna both look really nice, and I particularly like Anna’s new hair-piece (remember that these hair-pieces also work on regular LEGO minifigs). There is a large number of gloriously minty colors, ice pieces, and lots of great accessories. The castle also looks great on display, and the open back allows easy play. At 12 cents a piece, this set is more in line with normal licensed LEGO set prices, and based on what you get it is definitely worth it. See the video-review below for more details.
From these two new LEGO Disney Princess sets I would definitely say that the #41068 LEGO Disney Princess Arendelle Castle Celebration is a great choice as a gift or even just for the pieces. I’m a bit torn about the #41066 LEGO Disney Princess Anna & Kristoff’s Sleigh Adventure. While the set looks great, the price is unusually high even for Disney licensed set. But there is that glorious reindeer… You can find both sets under the LEGO Disney Princess section of the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? Do you have either or both of the 2016 LEGO Disney Princess Frozen sets already? How do you like them? Would you recommend them to others? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉
