LEGO Creator Corner Deli review

LEGO has been coming out with a series of buildings in the LEGO Creator line, similar, but smaller than the LEGO Creator Modular Buildings. They look great as residential and commercial buildings in LEGO City settings, which mostly have been populated by fire and police stations. In addition, since these are LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets, you can rebuild them in three different ways, thus giving plenty of options for variety. In fact because these sets are inexpensive, you can even buy three of each, and build each of them in three different ways simultaneously to create a whole street. The sets also provide a good alternative to people who don’t have the money and/or the space to display the full-size LEGO Modular Buildings. And those who already have the LEGO Modulars often modify these smaller sets to make them bigger and add them to their LEGO Modular layout. The point is that these sets are really popular, and for a good reason. 🙂

#31050 LEGO Creator Corner Deli

The first in the LEGO Creator 3-in-1 buildings line is the #31026 LEGO Creator Bike Shop & Café – a very lovely set that got the attention of many LEGO fans who hoped that the trend will continue. The set was $89.99 when it was first released, and it is now retired (although you should still be able to find it on the secondary market. The second set in the series is the #31036 LEGO Creator Toy & Grocery Shop. This set is still available for $39.99 at various retailers and the Online LEGO Shop. The third set in the series is the #31050 LEGO Creator Corner Deli was just released this January, also for $39.99, also available at the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO Creator Bike Shop Small Modular Buildings

We have reviewed the first two sets previously (see links at the end of this post), and today we will focus on the #31050 LEGO Creator Corner Deli. Let’s start with the official description: Serve scrumptious sandwiches at the 3-in-1 Corner Deli! Open your own deli, complete with red and white striped awning, brightly colored façade and a cool sandwich-formed shop sign. Prepare sandwiches in the cozy kitchen, then open up the large serving hatches and welcome the hungry customers that stop by for a bite to eat on the busy sidewalk, with its streetlamps and fire hydrant. When it’s time for a break, take the staircase to the snug second-floor apartment with its comfy chair, lamp and access to the balcony and roof terrace. Rebuild the set to create a small townhouse or a flower shop. Includes 2 minifigures: a man and a girl. Corner Deli measures over 7” (20cm) high, 6” (17cm) wide and 5” (14cm) deep. Small townhouse measures over 5” (15cm) high, 3” (8cm) wide and 2” (6cm) deep. Flower shop measures over 3” (8cm) high, 3” (8cm) wide and 4” (12cm) deep. 467 pieces. Price: $39.99 – BUY HERE

As soon as the first pictures of this set started to circulate online, people were excited. All three models look great (especially the main one featured on the box), the color combination is very pleasing, and the details and accessories are excellent. Just look at that giant sandwich! In the video-review below JANGBRiCKS is going to show you all three models.

All three models are pretty sweet, aren’t they? And the feature mentioned at the end of the video, where you can combine the townhouse from a second copy of the set with the corner deli is just brilliant. Also, I really like the feature that the models can open up, so you can either expand the street frontage, or close the buildings to have four true walls. And you get all these features and options for only $40. LEGO Creator truly grown into one of the best and most reasonably priced line of LEGO sets.

#31050 LEGO Creator Corner Deli Details

Some people consider these smaller LEGO Creator buildings as “budget Modulars” or “poor man’s Modulars”, and focus on expanding them as soon as the sets become available. However the sets are nice in their own right and there is no need to make them larger. They can work in any LEGO City setting as they are, and also look fine next to the Modulars. Both the #31036 LEGO Creator Toy & Grocery Shop and the #31050 LEGO Creator Corner Deli are currently available under the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.

    Hey Admin,

I collect the larger modular buildings, and initially stayed away from these smaller offerings because they seemed too diminutive compared to the larger modulars. However, I bought the Bike Shop and the Toy and Grocery for my winter village this year (with a few minor wintry modifications). They are fantastic models! I am hooked now, and will definitely get the Corner Deli.

The scale of these models fit very well with the Winter Village sets. And I think you are right in saying they would be great in a City layout.

James, I’m glad you like them! Nice idea with combining them with the Winter Village sets. I haven’t thought about that. But yeah, they are very sweet. 🙂

I have the bike/ cafe also, but I put it together and made the flower shop because I have bike shop ( It came with a pizza shop and a bus). As for cafe shop I’m just using the little one that has come with last years town square. I have the lakeside lodge .

I love this set, and have been planning to get it since it was first released. I might turn it into a comic-book shop, though. 😉

Completely charming! Who wouldn’t want a building with a giant sandwich on it?!

Also gotta love how affordable it is.

Yeah, with so many big and expensive LEGO sets, it is nice to see these little charmers. No need for a lot of bricks to make something wonderful. 🙂

I really love this set and plan on purchasing a few set to make a larger corner modular building that I desperately need in my city as I only got back into LEGO just a little over a year ago so I missed out on older corner modular buildings. (I don’t like the Cinema so I didn’t get that.)

I have seen a couple of people do that. Nice idea!
