LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures

If you enjoy LEGO Star Wars animated films, like the previously released LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, and LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales, there is good news for you; there is another TV show coming this summer titled LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures. Below are the details from StarWars.com about the upcoming series, as well as the accompanying LEGO sets. 🙂

LEGO Star Wars The Freemaker Adventures

The Force is set to meet LEGO bricks in a new galaxy-spanning adventure. StarWars.com is thrilled to announce LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, an all-new animated television series scheduled to debut this summer on Disney XD in the US. The fun-filled adventure comedy series, set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, will introduce all-new heroes and villains in exciting adventures with many familiar Star Wars characters.

Told in the whimsically-charged style that audiences have come to expect from LEGO Star Wars entertainment, the series stars the Freemakers, a family of scavengers who build and sell starships from the scoured debris of space battles strewn throughout the galaxy. When their youngest discovers a natural connection with the Force through an ancient artifact — the Kyber Saber — his world is turned upside down, and he and his family are thrown into an epic struggle against the Empire to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy. Throughout their adventures, the Freemakers explore new worlds, meet new and familiar characters, and learn the true value of what it means to be a family.

“We are very excited to launch for the first time a TV series with Disney XD,” said Jill Wilfert, vice president, licensing & entertainment at the LEGO Group. “The creative team behind The Freemaker Adventures is extremely talented, and the series is a great testament to our longstanding and successful partnership with Lucasfilm and Disney. The show masterfully combines the rich heritage of storytelling, great characters, action, and adventure in a galaxy far, far away with the creativity, imagination, and humor that only LEGO Star Wars can deliver. We are sure fans young and old are going to love the show.”

“With The Freemaker Adventures we are thrilled to bring all-new stories to life that could only be realized in the LEGO Star Wars universe,” said Carrie Beck, vice president, animation development at Lucasfilm. “We are embarking on an unprecedented collaboration that will allow us to extend the narrative experience of the Star Wars saga with the same playful spirit that’s always made LEGO Star Wars so much fun to watch. We are so thankful to have such great partners in the LEGO Group, Disney XD, and series developers Bill Motz and Bob Roth.”

LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures is a production of Wil Film, the LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm. Developed for television by Bill Motz and Bob Roth (Penguins of Madagascar), they join Torsten Jacobson (LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales) and Jill Wilfert (The LEGO Movie) as executive producers alongside producers Carrie Beck (Star Wars Rebels), Jason Cosler (LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Avengers Reassembled!), Jake Blais, and John McCormack.

Above is the trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, and there will also be a couple of LEGO sets based on the show: the #75145 LEGO Star Wars Eclipse Fighter for $29.99, and the #75147 LEGO Star Wars Star Scavenger for $49.99. Both of these sets have been revealed at the recent New York Toy Fair. You can see them in the video-footage below, along with other 2016 LEGO Star Wars sets coming out later this year.

LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures sounds fun, isn’t it? It is always nice to have additional stories from the Star Wars universe, especially with LEGO’s included humor. Also, if you didn’t catch the previous LEGO Star Wars films on TV, you can get them on Amazon in DVD format:

LOL! Yeah, it does sound like fun, and I’m looking forward to it too. Also, nice to have actual LEGO sets go with the series. 🙂

Actual LEGO sets going with the series that for once aren’t over-priced. 75018 from 2013, at 550 pieces and $70, was 12.7 cents/piece. 75051 from 2014, at 490 pieces and $60, was 12.2 c/piece. Now, 75145, at 363 pcs. and $30, is 8.3 c/piece and 75147 at 558 pcs. and $50 is 9.0 c/piece. So these are very good price-wise. I myself rather like the Star Scavenger; it may be the only 2016 SW set I get. 🙂
Also, is it just me, or does the site’s font size seem bigger? It looks bigger than I recall…. 😕

Haven’t changed the font size, so I’m not sure what you are seeing. 😕

Might be that I’m getting too used to reading small words in books… or my computer changed something. No matter. 😕
