A couple of months ago Disney XD announced a series of LEGO Star Wars animated films featuring Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters. The pilot episode aired in mid-February on Disney XD, and later was also uploaded to the Disney XD YouTube channel. While it is a bit late to post it, some of you may have not seen it yet, and it is very entertaining – just like all other LEGO Star Wars films. So it’s perfect for a Saturday morning. 🙂
The pilot episode is titled LEGO Star Wars: The Resistance Rises – Poe to the Rescue. It is the first episode in a series of all-new animated shorts that take place prior to the First Order’s attack on Jakku and tells never-before-told stories about Kylo Ren, Han Solo, Finn, Rey, BB-8, Maz Kanata and more. The pilot episode features Resistance pilot Poe Dameron as he comes to the aid of Admiral Ackbar who is being held captive by Captain Phasma. Kylo Ren, C-3PO and BB-8 will also appear.
That was fun, isn’t it? LEGO films always have great animation and humor. Airdates for the additional episodes is not yet known, but will be released at a later date. So keep an eye on your TV schedule. Also, remember that there is another new LEGO Star Wars film series titled LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures (see: LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures). And you can also check out the brand new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets under at the Online LEGO Shop.

This was great! Will there be any sets related to it too?
Hm… I’m not sure. I haven’t heard anything.
I am waiting for the series about the Free maker family and the sets that are coming out. Yet another cool story for the STAR WARS saga.
Yeah, I’m also waiting for the Freemaker sets. They look quite nice and a refreshing change from usual SW line.
I’m starting to think JJ Abrams gave C3PO a red arm just so he could talk about it all the time.
LOL! That’s quite possible! 😀
