May the 4th Be With You! To celebrate Star Wars Day, LEGO offering a number of promotions this weekend, including a brand new LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series set, Double VIP Points, discounts, freebies and more. Below are the details. 🙂
➡ LEGO STAR WARS NEW UCS SET: As it has become a tradition, we get a new LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set on Star Wars Day, this time the #75181 LEGO Star Wars UCS Y-Wing Starfighter. You can see the details of this set in the press release at the following link: LEGO Star Wars UCS Y-Wing Coming!, and find it at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ FREE EXCLUSIVE LEGO STAR WARS BB-8: This weekend, you will get a free #40288 LEGO Star Wars BB-8 with LEGO Star Wars purchases of $75 or more. We reviewed this adorable little droid here: LEGO Star Wars BB-8 Review & Modifications. Please note that while the flyer in the spring LEGO Shopping Catalog stated that this offer is only going to be valid on May 4th, according to the more current website information BB-8 is going to be available all weekend. Keep in mind that this is a first-come-first-serve limited release, and will likely run out before the weekend it over. So, if you would like to get BB-8, stop by at your local LEGO store as soon as possible, or place an order at the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ DOUBLE VIP POINTS ON LEGO STAR WARS SETS: LEGO is also offering Double VIP Points on most LEGO Star Wars sets, excluding the #75192 LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon, and the newly released #75181 LEGO Star Wars UCS Y-Wing Starfighter. Check out the full selection at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO STAR WARS SETS ON SALE: Select LEGO Star Wars sets are up to 20% off throughout the weekend, including large sets like the #75175 LEGO Star Wars A-Wing Starfighter, the #75177 LEGO Star Wars First Order Heavy Scout Walker, the #75179 LEGO Star Wars Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter, and more. All of the sets on sale are clearly marked at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ OFFERS FOR BLACK VIP CARD HOLDERS: When the #75192 LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon first became available back in 2017, LEGO offered a special Black VIP Card for those who purchased the set before the end of the year. The card wasn’t just cool looking, but it also supposed to give access to a full year of Star Wars-themed offers throughout 2018, including points promotions, special events, gifts with purchase and more (you can read more about the Black VIP Card on LEGO’s website).
Unfortunately, the Black VIP Card didn’t turn out as well as LEGO fans hoped for – at least not so far. First of all, because the #75192 LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon has been perpetually out of stock to this day, few people were able to qualify for the Black VIP Card before the end of the year. Even those who did manage to purchase the Falcon never received their card, although they will still receive the special benefits – apparently, LEGO didn’t make enough of the cards either. If you did manage to get the card, the only promotion so far has been Double VIP Points on LEGO Star Wars sets during the month of February. However, according to TheBrickFan, there is now a second promotion; a special blueprint poster of the #75181 LEGO Star Wars UCS Y-Wing Starfighter. If you are a Black VIP Card holder, you should be getting communication about this offer from LEGO by email. In addition, Black VIP Card holders have been automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win an 18 karat white gold R2-D2.
And that sums up all the special promotions for the May the 4th Star Wars Day weekend. If you have been eyeing any of the new LEGO Star Wars sets (or even some of the older ones), this is your chance to maximize the benefits you can get with your purchase. I also highly recommend making a purchase large enough to qualify for BB-8. He is very cute with beautifully printed parts. Visit your local LEGO store or the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
What do you think? Are you getting any new LEGO Star Wars sets this weekend? And what do you think of BB-8 and the other promotions? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

UPDATE: It looks like LEGO is offering Double VIP Points on the Falcon after all! That’s 1,599 Points! And, it is back in stock! 😀
Wow! I see that! That’s crazy! That’s like 80 bucks! Didn’t they say they will never have double vip on this set?
May the Fourth Be With You guys!!!! HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!!!!!
May the fourth be with you to my fellow Lego / Star Wars fans. So, I got the Sandspeeder and pick up First order transport speeder battle pack(76166). My Dad found the Star scavenger online and ordered it for me. ( I’ve been wanting this set for a long time). Now I have to put with the sets I already have out. AAAAH!
Sandspeeder is a very nice one. You have a typo in the First order transport speeder number: it’s 75166. (for those wanting to search by #).
“May the 4th” is always fun but this year doesn’t seem as spectacular for some reason. Doesn’t seem other retailers (Target, etc) got on-board. and TRU is going away (sad…).
Yeah, not much retailer specials this year… I just double checked the set number, but it is correct. #75166 is the small First Order Transport Battle Pack, but that’s not what I was referring to here. The #75177 is the Heavy Duty Scout Walker, which is one of the large sets on sale. 🙂
Yes, I agree.. number confusion is easy in this case. My reply was to Legostuff71 who mentioned “transport speeder battle pack(76166)” and that was the number I meant to correct.
The Heavy Walker is 75177 as you are correct. And though the looks don’t appeal to me (“it’s a walker; it’s not supposed to be pretty!” I guess they would say.) You do get 554 pieces including 4 minifigs. At that price it’s worth combining with a few other Star Wars items (Yoda Hut!) to get a BB-8 and 2x points. Happy shopping to all!
Oh, I see what you mean. Cool. I’m usually really bad with set numbers, so I just assumed you were referring to the one listed in the article. And yes, walkers, or any war machines, are not meant to be pretty. 🙄
Should we call them ” uglies” like they do in the Freemakers universe? Lol!
I would be a little scared calling the big ones uglies. They might get offended. 😈
