Custom LEGO board games pack & more!

As we discussed previously (see links at the end of this post), Build Better Bricks is an online shop run by the guys behind The Brick Show, where you can download custom LEGO instructions (free or for a reasonable fee), and purchase small LEGO building kits. We have talked about some of their products previously (see links at the end of this post), and recently, they added some new items that I thought to let you know about. 🙂

The classic board games pack features twelve custom-printed 1×2, 2×2 and 2×2 round LEGO tiles with board game designs. The games included are as follows: Othello, Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Solitaire, Mancala, Parcheesi, Chinese Checkers, Tic-Tac-Toe, 4-In-A-Row (with stand), Dartboard, and Dartboard with darts. These would go really well with the LEGO Modular Buildings, or other LEGO City buildings. The printed game tiles are also available individually, if you only need a couple of pieces and don’t want to buy the whole collection.

Some of the other new items that look great are the custom soda vending machines. Each of the packs includes instructions and 34 new condition LEGO pieces to build one of the four vending machines. Although this is not specified in the description, I believe the decorations are stickers. Dimensions are 2.125″ high x 1.5″ wide x 1.125″ deep for each vending machine. Perfect to add to any minifig-size LEGO creation.

There are also some cool custom arcade games and table games with all the pieces, instructions, and stickers (if applicable) included. They are all minifig-scale, so you could add them to any minifig-size building.

Besides the building kits, Build Better Bricks also carries downloadable building instructions. I didn’t see anything new since we talked about them last time, but if you haven’t seen them already, I recommend checking them out. They have some really great designs.

What do you think? How do you like the board game prints, soda machines, and arcade games? Do you like to add unique custom pieces like these to your LEGO creations? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below! 😉

The vending machines are great! Perfect size. Are there vending machines in official sets?

There is actually a working vending machine in one set, but I can’t remember which one off the top of my head. You can put soda bottles inside (1×1 round bricks with 1×1 round tiles on top), and dispense them with a mechanism. It is very cool. It’s pretty much minifig scale. 🙂

I want to get the games! I wish the vending machines were printed. I would get them in a heartbeat. I know the stickers are fine with most people, but I prefer printed parts.

The issue with the vending machines is that the side is made up from several pieces, so printing on them would be impractical. But I know what you mean; I prefer printed parts too. 🙂

Ah. That “Sticker Transferred Across Multiple Parts” technique could be annoying in case you’d like to disassemble the model…

That’s also true. With multiple parts, neither stickers or printed parts are the most ideal, but they can look really awesome if done right. 😀

Those vending machines should be fairly easy to make. Maybe find some Lego stickers to go with it? I think they did make one arcade game in one of the Dimensions packs. I don’t know about vending machines

Yes, there is a very cool arcade game in one of the Dimension packs. And it comes with printed pieces! 😀

They are cool. I like the board games. Good design for the vending machines too.

The game tiles would go well with the Detective’s Office’s first floor. Set up some extra tables in there with card games, chess, etc. I’m thinking about getting that set.

Hm… good idea. I might do that as well. There is already a little table in the corner, so all we need is replacing the tabletop with a game tile. 😀

What you can do is buy removable stickers in the preferable sizes, shapes, and colors. You decide the order in which you want to do the two following steps after you have readied the stickers for placement.
The entire bottom- sticky part- of the Lego stickers need to be placed on top of the removable stickers. Any part of Lego sticker bottom extending over edge of removable stickers will adhere to Lego vending machine.
2)The bottom of the removable stickers are to be stuck on the vending machines.
Provided that you obtain correct background colours and shapes- which more than likely you will have to purchase online – you can also purchase illustrated stickers. Imagine the different places, uses, ways, scenes, etc. that can be created (as long as purchased stickers made removable). Using with other Lego sets, creative play teaching, active-learning, parenting, social skills, etc. Hope this helps. Good Luck ‘n Lego’n

That’s actually a brilliant idea I have never heard anyone else mention. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
