Custom LEGO Winter Village Cider Mill

A couple of years ago, we talked about some really sweet custom LEGO Winter Village sets created by LEGO fan Miro Dudas (see: LEGO Winter Village Train Station & More!). They were perfect for expanding the official LEGO Winter Village collection. Miro’s custom sets includes a Winter Village Tram (non-motorized and motorized versions), a Winter Village Train Station (with an optional extended platform), and a Winter Village Delivery Truck. Parts-lists and instructions for all three models (and more) are available via Miro’s page at Rebrickable and via his BrickLink store. You can also visit Miro’s website, HumbleBricks.com, for more information. 🙂

A few days ago, Miro informed me that he recently finished the instructions for another custom LEGO Winter Village set, the Winter Village Cider Mill. Miro has been working on this model for a couple of years now, but as life got in the way, he didn’t have a chance to finish it until now. The wait was worth it though, because the final design looks fantastic (you can see some earlier versions at Miro’s flickr album).

The Winter Village Cider Mill features a rustic and traditional cider mill with a covered bridge entry, working water wheel, covered loading deck for the 1930s era delivery truck (one of the previous custom models mentioned above), snow covered trees, a lamp and a birdhouse. The rear of the cider mill features open access, and is furnished with a cozy entry and apple churning warehouse. Stairs lead to a loft kitchen where delicious apple pies are baked. The functional water wheel powers the apple churning machinery inside, as well as the lighted fireplace and pie oven using a couple of light-bricks. The model consists of 1,487 parts, and the downloadable instructions are 366 pages. Instructions are available at Miro’s BrickLink store for $7.50.

Miro is well known in the LEGO fan community for his high-quality custom models and carefully designed instructions. I know many of our readers appreciated his previous models, and the Winter Village Cider Mill is another great addition to the custom Winter Village collection. If you are interested, check out his website, BrickLink store, and Rebrickable page. And, if you are looking for the official LEGO Winter Village sets, you can find them at the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the Winter Village Cider Mill? Are you interested to add it to your LEGO Winter Village? Do you have any of the other custom models by Miro? How do you like them? Which one is your favorite? Feel free to share your thoughts and own reviews in the comment section below! 😉

Super exciting! I have built the tram, train station, and delivery truck, and I’ve been looking forward to the cider mill for a long time. The final model looks spectacular.

The parts for some of Miro’s other sets have been available for purchase on shop.constructibles.net. Any idea if there are plans to make the cider mill available there in the future?

I have the same question. It would be nice to be able to get the whole kit.

Dan, I emailed Miro with your question, so hopefully he will respond soon. 🙂

Great question. Due to the late launch of the Cider Mill, Constructibles won’t be selling kits for it this year, but from my talk with them, they are interested in selling kits next year.

          That’s great news! Thank you!

I have the 2 previous and just love them. I have been waiting all of these 2 years for the cider mill and it’s clearly worth every day of it!

The design is inspired and so is the very concept of a cider mill. So out of the box of Lego’s typical stuff! Can’t see much of the interior but I know from my experience how detailed his constructions are.

Add my voice to the chorus for a complete kit! (I even still have the boxes for the trolley and the train station.) Any fair price, Miro. I am ready to order and add this marvel to my village. I’d even put in a spur for the trolley to make a stop for a drop of cider.

Awww! Yes, the Cider Mill definitely needs its own trolley stop! I let Miro know about your questions/requests, so hopefully he will stop by soon to answer them. 🙂

Oh, I remember this! Even though the original was great, this is even better! Thanks for letting us know that it’s finally available.

      David, you’re very welcome. 🙂

Wow, I can’t believe it was so long ago when this was first announced. Time flies! It was worth the wait though. It matches the other buildings nicely.

This is a very nice build. I wish I would have all the parts to build it! Is there an easy way to upload the parts list to bricklink?

    • kingcobra November 20, 2018, 2:44 PM

I just want to see how much it would cost to build it.

      • Miro November 20, 2018, 5:38 PM

Thank you for asking. The Rebrickable page is a convenient way to add the parts to your BrickLink or Brickowl Wanted List.

        • Miro November 20, 2018, 5:41 PM

When I ran the cost analysis, it comes out about $116-137 to source the parts from Bricklink, depending on if you looking for new or used parts. The price is the current 6 month sale average. That’s pretty good for a 1487 part set. Of course, the more parts you already have, the lower the cost becomes. Shipping is not included.

Ya know, if Lego had produced that Cider Mill this Christmas instead of the Fire House (Which is far from bad, imho) I’d be borderline tortured unable to buy it right now! /That/ is truly a charming model and if the creator reads this comment: You did amazing work. Good job!

  • Rob November 21, 2018, 4:27 PM

Love it. Have been working on recreating myself based on flickr pictures of your earlier one, delighted to be able to get the instructions. The final version looks fantastic!
