It looks like that this holiday season LEGO decided to trickle in surprise promotions instead of announcing them in the LEGO Store Calendar ahead of time. While this means exciting surprises, it also means having to really stay on top of what’s happening. This weekend only (November 17th and 18th), LEGO is running a special promotion exclusively for LEGO VIP members. Details below. 🙂
➡ LEGO DOUBLE VIP POINTS: Today and tomorrow (November 17th and 18th), LEGO is offering Double VIP Points on every purchase for LEGO VIP members. Unrestricted Double VIP Points is not as common these days, so this is a great opportunity to check off any LEGO sets from your holiday shopping list. Double VIP Point periods are not the time to spend your already earned points, but to accumulate more. While currently you can earn Double VIP Points on any set, it is best to focus on large and exclusive sets that normally do not go on sale. Essentially, Double VIP Points means a 10% discount. You can often find similar or even better discounts at various retailers around the holidays, however exclusive sets are usually only sold by LEGO directly. So, purchasing them during a Double VIP Points period is pretty much the only time you will find them at a discount. This offer is valid both at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LARGE EXCLUSIVE LEGO SETS: Some larger sets you might consider are the #75222 LEGO Star Wars Betrayal at Cloud City, the 75192 LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon, the #75159 LEGO Star Wars Death Star, the #71043 LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle, the #10261 LEGO Creator Roller Coaster, the #10256 LEGO Creator Taj Mahal, the #10255 LEGO Creator Assembly Square, the #42083 LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron, the #70620 LEGO Ninjago City and matching #75657 LEGO Ninjago City Docks, the new #21311 LEGO Ideas Voltron, or some of the earlier large sets, the. For a full list of exclusives, visit the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ LEGO SETS RETIRING SOON: Also, as we discussed at the beginning of the month, according to the 2018 LEGO Christmas Catalog, a number of popular but older LEGO sets are getting retired. This includes the #10247 LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel, the #10246 LEGO Creator Detective’s Office, the #75060 LEGO Star Wars Slave I, the #75202 LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina, the #42056 LEGO Technic Porsche 911GT3 RS, and some smaller LEGO City, LEGO Creator, LEGO Disney, LEGO Friends, LEGO Ideas, and LEGO Minecraft sets. The Double VIP Points period is the perfect time to pick them up before they get discontinued and prices rise on the secondary market. For a list of retiring sets, visit the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ FREE EXCLUSIVE HOLIDAY SET: The second offer this weekend for LEGO VIP members is the exclusive limited edition #40292 LEGO Christmas Gift Box with purchases over $99. This is a very nice holiday set with sweet colors and a festive Christmas scene inside. This offer is valid both today and tomorrow (November 17th and 18th) at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ FREE SHIPPING ON ALL ORDERS: The third offer for LEGO VIP members this weekend is free shipping on all orders, not just purchases over $35. This is likely a response to Amazon offering free shipping on all orders with no minimum purchase during the holiday shopping season. This is, of course, great for us! This offer is valid at the Online LEGO Shop.
➡ FREE LEGO HARRY POTTER SET: In addition to these offers, the free #40289 LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley set with purchases of $99 or more promotion is still running until the 21st of November. So, if you place a larger order, you should get both freebies! Please note freebies are available while supplies last, so the earlier you place an order the better chance you have for getting both sets. We have had numerous instanced in the past when a freebie ran out too quickly. So, if you like them, best not to delay. This offer is valid both at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.
Also, remember that the beautiful #21315 LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book is now available! We have talked about this set extensively including modifications and upgrades by the original creator of the set (see links at the end of this post), so here I will only copy the official description for your reference: Build, play and display the classic fairy tales Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk with the #21315 LEGO Ideas Pop-up Book! This first-ever buildable pop-up book made from LEGO bricks opens to reveal the famous scene of grandmother’s forest cottage featuring opening door, bed and kitchen area. Recreate the scene when Little Red Riding Hood meets the wolf, or swap out grandmother’s cottage for the scene of the giant’s castle in the clouds. This collectible toy features enough bricks to build both scenes, or you can even build a scene of your own and makes a perfect creative gift. This LEGO set includes a booklet with a short history of pop-up books, a condensed history of each fairy tale in the set, as well as information about its fan designers and LEGO designers. Includes 4 new-for-November-2018 LEGO minifigures: Little Red Riding Hood, Grandmother, the Wolf, and the Giant. Also includes 1 new-for-November-2018 microfigure: Jack. Pop-up book measures over 7” (20cm) long and 5” (13cm) wide when closed, and over 11” (28cm) wide when open. 859 pieces. Price: $69.99 – BUY HERE
If you already have all the LEGO sets you want, and you would like something new and interesting, check out the LEGO Overwatch sets scheduled for release in January, and available for preorder now. The LEGO Overwatch theme includes six sets; the #75970 LEGO Overwatch Tracer vs. Widowmaker, the #75971 LEGO Overwatch Hanzo vs. Genji, the #75972 LEGO Overwatch Dorado Showdown, the #75973 LEGO Overwatch D.Va & Reinhardt, the #75974 LEGO Overwatch Bastion (my favorite!), and the #75975 LEGO Overwatch Watchpoint: Gibraltar. The sets seem to be pretty basic, but the minifigures are amazing! You can find them at the LEGO Overwatch section of the Online LEGO Shop.
Remember, some of these offers are only available this weekend, while others expire soon. Please double check the details above to make sure you don’t miss out on anything you want. Happy shoppin’!

Are these the same offers we are going to have next week for Brick Friday?
The free holiday set is going to be the same offer, and there are also going to be some sets on clearance sale 20-30% off. I’m not sure about Double VIP Points though.
I’m there, I am having a flood of choices on what to get. This always happens to me and I get overwhelmed with too many choices. Then I usually walk out with nothing.but, not this time 😎
So… what are you getting? 😀
I like the holiday freebie. It looks to be a fun set. And, of course, the pop-up book. That’s got to be one of the best smaller sets I have seen in a while.
Yes, the Pop-Up Book is a fantastic set! 😀
Oh! Early Black Friday deals! Cool! I’m surprised the Detective Office is retiring before the Parisian, which was released earlier. Also, I remember reading somewhere (maybe it was here??) that the Brick Bank is retiring soon too.
Someone reported that they were told by a LEGO employee that the Brick Bank is also on the retiring sets list. Although this hasn’t been confirmed as far as I know.
Reminds me of the modular Town Hall. I think it had the shortest window of availability of all the modular buildings and was retired out of order of the release of the other sets around it. Lego keeping us modular building fans on our toes! 😀
Yeah, that set didn’t sell well in its time due to the higher price, and bit boring interior/exterior. Of course now, that we are conditioned to much bigger sets and higher prices across LEGO themes, a $200 sounds totally normal! 😀
It appears that the UK site listed a bunch of retiring sets, but in the US there are none (except some key chains and other odd items). Do you know when it will be updated?
They sale section will definitely be updated next week for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. As far as when the retiring sets section will be updated, my guess is that it will be soon as well. The UK version of the site just listed over 200 sets retiring, so I assume the same or similar list will be available in the US.
Basically, LEGO always does a big purge at the end of the year before sets for the new year are added. So, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the Online LEGO Shop. You can also kind of guess which sets will be retiring by checking which ones are the oldest.
Part 2) I bought from Jurassic World 75931- diloposaurus outpost attack , 75927- stygimoloch breakout . From star wars (solo set) 75215- cloud-rider swoop bikes. ( but that one is for x-mas). So, with that I got the Diagon Alley mini set and the holiday present set. I’m as happy as a snowman in winter.😁
Those are great choices! Have lots of fun building! 😀
Thanks, I have to have enough dinosaurs for my Jurassic World meets Star Wars plan. I’m also thinking throwing in Indiana Jones in the mix.
Sure, why not? Indiana Jones is great with handling large, unruly beasts! 😀
Although he’s an architect, and not a paleontologist.
Sorry, archaeologist… *-_-*;
Just bought UCS Y-wing. It comes with diagon alley, holiday present and the VIP set (40178). To top that, all are Double points
What a steal! Enjoy your haul! 😀
