October 2020 – New LEGO Sets & Promotions

October is usually the beginning of the holiday shopping season, and LEGO participates by releasing various holiday-related sets in addition to the ones we got already. October also marks the wider release of several of the larger exclusives that were previously only available to LEGO VIP members. In addition, we also get some new sets as well as promotional items this month. So let’s take a look at everything happening this month!

FREE LEGO MINDSTORM SET: To celebrate the impending release of the completely redesigned, upgraded and refreshed LEGO MINDSTORMS system with the #51515 LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor 5-in-1 Set (see press-release for more info: LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor 5-in-1 Set Coming!), October 15-25 you can get the #40413 LEGO MINDSTORMS Mini Robots set free with purchases of $100 or more. This offer is valid on all purchases at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.

FREE LEGO BUILD YOUR OWN VEHICLES SET: Another freebie this month is the #30549 LEGO Build Your Own Vehicles Set with purchases of $40 or more. This offer is only valid at official LEGO stores October 15-25.

FREE LEGO HIDDEN SIDE SET: October 26th to November 1st, you can get a free #30464 LEGO Hidden Side El Fuego’s Stunt Cannon with purchases of $35 or more at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.

NEW LEGO WINTER VILLAGE SET AVAILABLE: The #10275 LEGO Creator Expert Elf Clubhouse, the latest in the LEGO Winter Village series, became available at the end of September (see press-release for more info: LEGO Winter Village Elf Clubhouse Press-Release). Both this set, and the #10267 LEGO Creator Expert Gingerbread House from last year are available at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

OTHER NEW LEGO HOLIDAY SETS AVAILABLE: Besides the previously released holiday sets we talked about already (see links at the end of this post), there are several new sets that became available today. This includes the really nice #40426 LEGO Christmas Wreath 2-in-1 set, a couple of small Christmas Ornament sets you can hang on your Christmas tree, and the #40425 LEGO BrickHeadz Nutcracker. You can find them all at the seasonal section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO WONDER WOMAN SET AVAILABLE: While originally planned to be available at an event (San Diego Comic-Con) that is no longer taking place, the #77906 LEGO Wonder Woman set is now available in limited quantities at the LEGO DC Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO STAR WARS MOS EISLEY CANTINA AVAILABLE: The #75290 LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina is now available for everyone, not just LEGO VIP members. You can read more about the set in the press-release: LEGO Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina Press-Release. This is a highly popular set going in and out of stock, so if you want it for Christmas, I recommend getting it as soon as possible. It’s available at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO BABY YODA AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER: The #75318 LEGO Star Wars The Child sculpture is going to be released on October 30th to coincide with the release of the second season of The Mandalorian (see press-release for more info: LEGO Star Wars The Child Now Available for Pre-Order). However, the set is already available for pre-order, which means you can purchase it now with the set shipping at the end of the month. To pre-order the set, visit the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO 1989 BATWING COMING SOON: The recently announced #76161 LEGO DC Super Heroes 1989 Batwing will be available for LEGO VIP members from the 21st of October and for remaining LEGO fans from 1st November. (see press-release for more info: LEGO DC Batman 1989 Batwing Coming!) The set is already listed at the LEGO Batman section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO & IKEA BYGGLEK COLLECTION NOW AVAILABLE: As we discussed in the recent press-release (see: LEGO and IKEA Storage Solution Press-Release), the new collection is now available in existing IKEA retail channels throughout Europe and North America.

LEGO & LEVI’S COLLECTION NOW AVAILABLE: You can read more about the new LEGO and Levi’s product line here: LEGO x Levi’s Co-Branded Products Press-Release. The full collection is now available at Levi’s stores, Levis.com, select retailers, and the Levi’s section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Besides the new sets and promotions mentioned here, remember that there are many other new sets that were released in the past couple of months, including the #75978 LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley set, the #21323 LEGO Ideas Playable Piano, the #71374 LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, the #43179 LEGO Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters, the four new LEGO Art mosaics, and many new sets under LEGO Batman, LEGO City, LEGO Creator 3-in-1, LEGO Disney, LEGO Friends, LEGO Harry Potter, LEGO Hidden Side, LEGO Iron Man, LEGO Monkie Kid, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Super Mario, LEGO Technic, and LEGO Trolls. I really want to get the vader and iron man mosaic, but the vader one is always out.

I don’t know where you’re located, but if you’re in the U.S., they are now both available. You may just need to refresh your page.

I don’t see the Levi’s stuff on the site yet. It says coming soon. I’m in the US. Are they not available to us yet?

    • Thita (admin) October 1, 2020, 1:46 PM

Yes, it seems like they are delayed in the U.S. for some reason. They are available in other countries.

UPDATE: They are now available! 🙂

I was reading there are two other SDCC sets, but there is no confirmation when or if they will be released. Admin, can you confirm?

    • Thita (admin) October 1, 2020, 1:45 PM

Yes, it’s not clear if and when these will actually be available to the public. I will let you guys know if I find out anything more.

Seems like you’d need a lot of luck to obtain one from the US, while outside, it’s nigh impossible. Curse artificial scarcity!

  • Undercover Afol October 1, 2020, 3:43 PM

So is the new Mindstorm set going to be available before Christmas?

    • Undercover Afol October 1, 2020, 3:44 PM

It seems that the freebie is related to that, that’s why I’m asking.

    • Thita (admin) October 1, 2020, 5:11 PM

The press-release said it will be released in the fourth quarter of the year, so yeah, it could be coming soon. But with the whole COVID situation, there may be some delays.

  • T.T.T. October 2, 2020, 10:38 AM

Guys, the Wonder Woman set is now sold out, but it’s available at the Walmart site.

  • EdC October 2, 2020, 3:03 PM

So… no minifig scaled Batwing as gift with purchase?

    • Håkan October 2, 2020, 4:42 PM

Hmm, seems like a pretty big set for a GWP, I’d guess a GWP Batwing rather would be microscale…

    • Thita (admin) October 2, 2020, 6:09 PM

Hm… the Batwing is a regular set, not a freebie. I have read some people wishing that they would like LEGO to make a mini version like they did with the Batmobile, but this was just a wish, not something based on reality. (Although they could potentially still do it.)

  • Maya October 28, 2020, 11:24 AM

Has anyone received their order and gotten the mini mindstorms? I placed an order, and have received everything I ordered except the wreath, but no mini mindstorms, which is the whole reason I placed the order when I did. 🙁

    • Thita (admin) October 28, 2020, 11:50 AM

Hm… I would suggest to call or email customer service. They are very good at fixing issues like that. Please note though that all promotional items are valid as long as supplies last, which may be shorter than the advertised promotional period. So it’s possible that they just ran out, or it’s also possible that there was a mistake. If the promo item showed up in your cart and is visible on your order details, you should be getting it, or something equivalent. Anyway, contact them and they should be able to sort it out.
