April 2021 – New LEGO Sets & Promotions

Let’s take a look at all the new LEGO sets and promotions happening in April! Some of them carry over from last month, while others are new. Also, some of the sets that have been out of stock for a while are available again, so it’s worth taking a look at your wanted list.

FREE LEGO EASTER BUNNY HOUSE: This is a promotion that started last month and will continue until April 5th. The free #40449 LEGO Seasonal Easter Bunny’s Carrot House set is available with purchases of $60 or more, while supplies last. This offer is valid on all purchases at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.

FREE LEGO EASTER EGG CHICK: This promotion also started last month and will continue until April 5th. The free #30579 LEGO Creator Easter Egg Chick is available with purchases of $40 ore more, while supplies last. Please note that this promotion is only available at official LEGO stores.

FREE LEGO DOTS MINI FRAME: April 26 – May 9 you will get a free #30556 LEGO DOTS Mini Frame with purchases of $35 or more, while supplies last. This neat little set was actually a freebie in March of last year, so perhaps LEGO made too many of them? The offer is valid both at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO NASA SPACE SHUTTLE DISCOVERY AVAILABLE: The #10283 LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery is now available. This is a recently announced set featuring the famous spacecraft as well as the Hubble telescope (used as the payload for the space shuttle, or displayed separately). You can read about the specks and watch the designer-video here: LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery Press-Release. In brief, this is the largest realistic spacecraft LEGO ever released with 2,354 pieces and a retail price of $199.99. The set is available at the LEGO Creator Expert section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO ULYSSES SPACE PROBE DELAYED: You might remember that when the #10283 LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery was announced, it was mentioned that LEGO VIP members will be able to purchase the exclusive Ulysses Space Probe for 1,800 VIP Points starting on April 1st, until supplies last. In real life, the Ulysses Space Probe was deployed by the Space Shuttle Discovery in 1990 on a mission to scan the Sun. Unfortunately, this exclusive set has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances and we don’t know when it is going to be available.

LEGO IDEAS WINNIE THE POOH AVAILABLE: The #21326 LEGO Winnie the Pooh set is now available for everyone not just LEGO VIP members. Based on the how fast the set ran out when it was available for VIP members, I expect that this set will sell out fast and will be out of stock for quite a while. You can read about the specks and watch the designer-video here: LEGO Ideas Winnie The Pooh Set Press-Release. To purchase this lovely set, visit the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO MINIONS SETS COMING SOON: A couple of the LEGO Minions sets that were originally scheduled for release last year are now scheduled for an April 26th release. The two sets are the #75547 LEGO Minions Minion Pilot in Training, and the #75550 LEGO Minions Kung Fu Battle. If you want to check them out, they are already listed at the LEGO Minions section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO STAR WARS HELMETS & PROBE DROID COMING SOON: The four new LEGO Star Wars helmets we recently talked about are also going to be available on April 26th (see: New LEGO Star Wars Helmets & Probe Droid Coming!). This includes the #75304 LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Helmet, the #75305 LEGO Star Wars Scout Trooper Helmet. Another set that will be released on the same day is the #75306 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Probe Droid. If you want to check them out, they are already listed at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES CARNAGE COMING SOON: Another set that will be released soon is the #76199 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Carnage. It will be available on April 11th, and is already listed at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES VILLAINS SET: Another new Marvel set is the #40454 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man versus Venom and Iron Venom. This is a small set with just a small buggy and four minifigs; Spider-Man, Venom, Pork Grind, and Iron Venom. Collectors should like this little set. It’s available at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop

SOME OUT OF STOCK SETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE: As you have probably seen already, LEGO has been having a hard time keeping sets in stock. Especially popular newly released sets. COVID-19 related delays and high demand are still happening, so sometimes it takes a while until you can get the set you want. However, LEGO has been restocking sets as soon as they are able. So check the sets you have been eyeing, as they might be back in stock already. I don’t want to post a list here as availability changes constantly, but when I looked at my wanted list, a number of the sets I haven’t been able to get are available again. For latest availability, visit the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the new sets released this month? Are you planning to get any of them? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

Hmm, not much interesting for me this month. Considering I have to think about space and funds for the meantime, I’m holding out until May with the ’66 Batmobile and the rumored upcoming Daily Bugle set. (I’ve never bought a single set of that size before, so I’m waiting for more info…)

Alas, there’s no Robin in the ’66 Batmobile, and the Batcave 60’s Robin is quite expensive on BrickLink, but I guess you could do a reasonable substitute just by switching the head and hair on a Lego Batman Movie Robin…

Is the space probe completely canceled? Or will it be offered at a later date?

It’s not yet known, but I’m, sure we will get an update on the LEGO Ambassador Network. I will let you guys know as soon as I know something. This was the message we got:

“Due to unexpected circumstances, there is a delay in the release of the space probe VIP reward. We do hope that it will be available soon. As soon as more information is available, we will make sure that we let all our fans know!”

There is also a Venom set coming on the 26th. I don’t know what Lego was thinking though. It looks super scary.

The bust? Lego’s long been doing color swaps for their smaller sets, now they’re doing the same thing for their 60$ selection!

I’m very surprised that lego is releasing these characters. Sure, they are not real, but they look scary as heck.

Haha! Imagine as a kid waking up in the middle of the night and the Lego Venom or Carnage staring at you. 😈

It looks like that Carnage set has those damn stickers!
