LEGO released a number of new sets this week, most likely to spread out orders and minimize any issues with their website at the beginning of next month. May is always a big month for LEGO because of all the specials they offer on Star Wars Day (May the 4th). Below, we will discuss all the newly released sets, as well as what to look forward to on Star Wars Day.
NEW LEGO STAR WARS SETS – Three new LEGO Star Wars sets are now available; the #75304 LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Helmet, the #75305 LEGO Star Wars Scout Trooper Helmet, and the #75306 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Probe Droid. We talked about these sets previously at New LEGO Star Wars Helmets & Probe Droid Coming! You can find them at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
NEW LEGO DC COMICS SETS – Three new LEGO Batman sets are also now available; the #76180 LEGO Batman vs. The Joker – Batmobile Chase, the #76182 LEGO Batman Cowl, and the #76188 LEGO Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile. You can find them at the LEGO DC Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.
NEW LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES SETS – The #76187 LEGO Venom bust we talked about the other day (see: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Venom Review), and the #76198 LEGO Spider-Man & Doctor Octopus Mech Battle sets are now available at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.
NEW LEGO COLLECTIBLE MINIFIGURES – The #71030 LEGO Collectible Minifigures Looney Tunes characters are now available. The series features 12 characters; Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Sylvester, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Porky Pig, Petunia Pig, Speedy Gonzales, Tasmanian Devil, and Marvin the Martian. You can find them at the LEGO Minifigures section of the Online LEGO Shop.
FREE LEGO DOTS SET – It’s also worth nothing that the current freebie is the #30556 LEGO DOTS Mini Frame, which you can get with purchases of $35 or more until May 9th, or while supplies last. This offer is valid on all purchases at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.
LEGO STAR WARS DAY SPECIALS – May the 4th is the biggest day for Star Wars fans, and LEGO always participates in the event by offering specials. This year, you will get Double VIP Points on all LEGO Star Wars purchases. You will also get a free #40451 LEGO Star Wars Tatooine Homestead set with LEGO Star Wars purchases of $85 or more. If you live near an official LEGO store, you will also get a #30388 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle set with LEGO Star Wars purchases of $40 or more. All of these specials are valid May 1-5 while supplies last. There is also a sweepstake running for LEGO VIP members May 1-21 for a one-of-a-kind Jon “Dutch” Vander minifigure and print. Details of this event should be available at the LEGO VIP page any day now. For more information, visit the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
LEGO STAR WARS R2-D2 COMING – And of course, we will get a new big LEGO Star Wars set to celebrate Star Wars Day. This year, it is the #75308 LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 buildable droid with 2,314 pieces, and measuring over 12.5 in. (31 cm) high, 7.5 in. (20 cm) wide, and 6 in. (15 cm) deep for the price of $199.99. We talked about this set in detail at LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 Coming Soon! It will be available starting on May 1st at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.
If you’re planning to get any of the new non-Star Wars sets, it’s probably better to get them now before Star Wars fans take over the website in May. If you are planning to purchase any of the new (or older) LEGO Star Wars sets, you may want to wait until the May the 4th specials are available and hope that the Force is with you.
What do you think? Do you like any of the newly available sets? And are you looking for ward to Star Wars Day? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

Thanks for the list! Oh, my wallet, won’t be happy! 😄
I don’t even have a wallet
\($o$)/
Hmm, I have a wallet, although many others here in Sweden shun cash money like the plague… Anyway, I’m holding out for the Daily Bugle and 2x VIP point deals. (About the only set I’m interested in here is the 76188 Classic Batmobile, but not enough to pay full RRP.)
I haven’t yet heard any rumor about this, but I thought that the Daily Bugle set could hopefully be a possibility to include a Silk minifig. Both Spider-Gwen and Anya “Spider-Girl” Corazon have been included in sets, but not Silk, although it seems Marvel has big plans for her as a young, female webspinner…
That would be really cool. They have been really good at keeping this set under wraps. My guess is that it will be announced sometime after the Star Wars Day madness dies down. 😀
Yeah, the members of the EuroBricks forum are torn apart by anxiousness! =D
Haha! I can relate! 😀
I don’t deal much with cash either, but in a significant number of states it’s still the most common way to make transaction. It’s interesting how these things change. I’m also looking forward to the Daily Bugle, simply because I like buildings. And I know William is looking forward to it too. I guess we all do. 😀
It ticks a lot of my boxes. I don’t have any real connection to Ninjago and only a passing interest in Star Wars, but I was born in the early 80’s, so as a late tween and early teen I grew up with characters like Black Cat and Daredevil. I guess it’s part nostalgia.
Well considering I just finished building two star wars sets already. I probably can get a few more.( I just built the Resistance 1-TS Transport and the Razor Crest). The Resistance Transport is an under estimated set. It goes great in the Star Wars universe . The pilot ( VI Moradi is a character in a book Star Wars Galaxy’s edge Black Spire by Delilah s. Dawson. If you guys want to know about one of the characters.
Wow, that’s great backstory info! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Does anyone wants to bet how long it will take until their website crashes? I try to avoid these specials because they will just lead to disappointment.
Yeah, it will probably happen. That’s why, I think, they are spreading it out for several days. To minimize the impact.
At least the 30556 DOTS Mini Frame is unlikely to cause GWP-level meltdowns…
Haha! I also dismissed that little freebie the first time it was offered last year, then I realized it had a piece I really needed (a tile in a color that – at that time – only appeared in that set). 😀
I’ve heard that story before. The set with the single missing part. It seems frighteningly common in Lego circles…
Hm… maybe they are doing it on purpose. 😀
It sounds like a lucrative business model… @_@
EXACTLY!!! 😀
I’m crossing my fingers that I can get the Tattoine set. It looks so well designed. I think this is the fourth in the Star Wars microbuild freebies? I can’t remember.
And the summer reveals and leaks seem to be in full swing.
10774 Mickey Mouse’s and Minnie Mouse’s Space Rocket has some good space suits and parts I might consider bricklinking, and 41685 Magical Funfair Rollercoaster has some hairpieces in glammy rave colors I might snag separately. (I’m inspired by sci-fi anime and superhero comics and such, where characters often have very outlandish hair colors…)
I love outlandish hair colors too! My favorite is Sweet Mayhem’s. It has the most amazing sheen to it. And yeah, the summer sets look pretty sweet. I’m also eyeing the same pieces you do. 😀
I want to try one of those star wars helmets. Which one do you guys recommend?
And now the Creator set 31117 Space Shuttle Adventure has also been revealed. But I think it might be too similar to sets I already own to fit into my annual budget and storage this year…
I’ll wait for info on price, parts and alternative build to see if it feels worthy of a purchase.
