January 2022 LEGO Sets Coming Soon!

LEGO added a large selection of the January 2022 sets to the Online LEGO Shop. Note that the sets are not yet available for purchase, but you can add them to your wish list. Knowing what sets are coming also helps with planning and budgeting for the next year. So let’s take a look!

2022 LEGO ARCHITECTURE SET: The #21057 LEGO Architecture Singapore set is the latest in the LEGO Architecture Skyline series. I really like the tasteful layout and pleasing color-scheme. Also, notice all the printed elements! You can find more images of the set at the LEGO Architecture Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO BRICKHEADZ SETS: There are a couple of great-looking LEGO BrickHeadz sets coming as well; the #40539 LEGO BrickHeadz Ahsoka Tano, and the #40540 LEGO BrickHeadz Lion Dance Guy. The LEGO BrickHeadz Pets series also continues with the #40543 LEGO BrickHeadz St Bernard Dog & Puppy, and the #40544 LEGO BrickHeadz French Bulldog & Puppy. You can find them at the LEGO BrickHeadz section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO CITY SETS: We get the usual LEGO City Police, LEGO City Fire, LEGO City Construction sets, small vehicles, and a fairly large hospital. A noteworthy small set is the #60326 LEGO City Picnic in the Park with a couple of cute squirrels. There is also a new school, but it’s very tiny. However, the school bus is decent. A sub-theme for LEGO City that captured people’s imagination is the #60350 LEGO City Lunar Research Base, and the #60351 LEGO City Rocket Launch Center. You can find all the new sets at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO CREATOR SETS: The #31129 LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Majestic Tiger is probably one of the most impressive LEGO Creator brick-built animals of all time. It’s truly majestic! The set can be rebuilt into a koi or a red panda. A couple of other interesting new sets are the #40519 LEGO New York Postcard and the #40520 LEGO Beijing Postcard. These are similar to the LEGO Architecture Skyline sets with an included background. You can look out for them at the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO CHINESE NEW YEAR SETS: We talked about these sets already, but it’s worth repeating that the two new LEGO Chinese New Year sets are the #80108 LEGO Lunar New Year Traditions, and the #80109 Lunar New Year Ice Festival. You can find them at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO DISNEY SETS: LEGO Disney starts out with a small selection in January. We get a couple of sets from Frozen, with the mini-dolls wearing an interesting new skirt piece. The same skirt pieces are also used in the #43203 LEGO Disney Aurora, Merida, and Tiana’s Enchanted Creations combo set. Another combo set is the #43108 LEGO Disney Jasmine and Mulan’s Adventure with a beautiful tiger. You can find them at the LEGO Disney section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO DOTS SETS: LEGO DOTS continues with a couple of new bracelets, bracelet & bag tag combos, a small packet of extra DOTS, and a pen holder. These sets are a wonderful source of small LEGO tiles in beautiful colors, unique shapes, and nicely printed elements. You can find them at the LEGO DOTS section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO FRIENDS SETS: LEGO Friends is absolutely amazing next year! Take a look at the #41702 LEGO Friends Canal Houseboat, the #41703 LEGO Friends Friendship Tree House, and the #41704 LEGO Friends Main Street Building! There are several other sets as well, and you can find them all at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO HARRY POTTER SETS: The only LEGO Harry Potter set revealed so far is the #76399 LEGO Harry Potter Magical Trunk with tons of customizable scenes and characters. I expect this set to be very popular. You can find it at the LEGO Harry Potter section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES SETS: Some of the 2022 LEGO DC Super Heroes Batman sets were released early and are already available, but there are also several new sets coming in the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes line. Perhaps the most interesting one is the large #76206 LEGO Iron Man Figure. You can find the upcoming sets at the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO MINECRAFT SETS: A whole wave of LEGO Minecraft sets are coming next year, including the #21177 LEGO Minecraft The Creeper Ambush, the #21178 LEGO Minecraft The Fox Lodge, the #21179 LEGO Minecraft The Mushroom House, the #21180 LEGO Minecraft The Guardian Battle, the #21181 LEGO Minecraft The Rabbit Ranch, and the #21183 LEGO Minecraft The Training Grounds. You can see them all in detail at the LEGO Minecraft section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO COLLECTIBLE MINIFIGURES: The 22nd series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures features a Robot Inventor, a Chili Girl, a Bard, an Ice Warrior, a Girl with Foal, an Ice Skater, a Moon Warrior, an Acorn Boy, an Ornithologist, a Raccoon Girl, an Alien, and a Wheelchair Racer. Quite a nice series with a good variety of characters! They are going to be available at the LEGO Minifigures section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO MONKIE KID SETS: We already discussed the upcoming LEGO Monkie Kid sets this past weekend, but in summary, several interesting sets are coming, including a vehicle customization set, a couple of space sets, and the wonderful #80036 LEGO Monkie Kid The City of Lanterns. You can find them at the LEGO Monkie Kid section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO NINJAGO SETS: The LEGO Ninjago gets a new sub-themed called LEGO Ninjago Core. These are sets suitable for younger builders with simple building techniques. We also get several larger sets like the #71765 LEGO Ninjago Ninja Ultra Combo Mech, the awesome #71766 LEGO Ninjago Lloyd’s Legendary Dragon, and the #71767 LEGO Ninjago Ninja Dojo Temple. You can find them at the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO STAR WARS SETS: Star Wars fans are going to get a couple of new small Battle Pack sets; the #40557 LEGO Star Wars Defense of Hoth, the #40558 LEGO Star Wars Clone Trooper Command Station, and the #75320 LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper Battle Pack. A larger set is the #75322 LEGO Star Wars Hoth AT-ST, and a tiny set is the #75321 LEGO Star Wars The Razor Crest Microfighter. You can find them all at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO SUPER MARIO SETS: Fans of LEGO Super Mario are getting more expansion sets, the largest of which is the #71401 LEGO Super Mario Luigi’s Mansion Haunt-and-Seek. There is also a new series of character packs. You can find them at the LEGO Super Mario section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2022 LEGO TECHNIC SETS: We are getting four LEGO Technic Pull-Back Racers next year; the #42134 LEGO Technic Monster Jam Megalodon, the #42135 LEGO Technic Monster Jam EL Toro Loco, the #42137 LEGO Technic Porsche 99x Electric, and the #42138 LEGO Technic Ford Shelby Cobra. There is also a small motorcycle with two building options. You can find all the new sets at the LEGO Technic section of the Online LEGO Shop.

And that sums up the sets we know about at this point, although I’m sure more will be revealed in the next weeks. What do you think? Which new sets are you looking forward to the most? Are you putting any of them on your wish list? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

The tiger looks amazing! And I may pick up a couple of those technic pullbacks.

Hmm, I likely won’t buy many actual sets in January. Probably just a few hand-picked of the collectable minifigures, but I’ll be checking out Bricks And Pieces for interesting stuff. Maybe I’ll also try to get the Wolverine minifig separately.

(I heard that the mechs had been delayed due to stability issues, though.)

There’s also a couple of Juniors Spider-Man sets rumored where no pictures have been revealed yet, but where I’m curious about the minifigs.

I used to order from bricks and pieces, but I’m in the US and it takes so long for the packages to arrive from Denmark. I found bricklink sellers a better choice.

      • Håkan December 7, 2021, 2:01 PM

It’s ‘relatively’ quick to order from Sweden, and certain pieces might appear earlier on Bricks And Pieces, as well as being cheaper than Bricklink.

Which option that works best would depend on various factors…

Hmm, now I found images for the Juniors Spider-Man leaked on a site. Utterly underwhelmed, not even the minifigs were that good. I still might buy a few of the parts and minifigs separately, though.

I don’t much care for BrickHeadz, but that Ahsoka looks cool! I don’t really have anything else to get in January. No money after Christmas.

Lots of great stuff for the kids. Not much for adults except the poorly colored Mustang. Ford doesn’t offer that color. I’ll be saving a ton of money this coming year with no exceptional sets to be bought. You can have the Star Wars sets as they have become boring and over produced. The new modular is out of architectural style with the other modulars. The palm trees really don’t help it either.

    • Thita (admin) December 7, 2021, 5:43 PM

Yeah, that palm tree has been throwing people off. Keep in mind that it is a potted plant, not a permanently planted palm tree. So maybe they just have it out for the summer. 🙂

      • Håkan December 7, 2021, 9:45 PM

It’s hard to see much of a unified fauna and climate for all the modular buildings, anyway. I don’t know how much it would be noticed…

  • Daria Parker December 7, 2021, 3:59 PM

I can’t wait for the mini figures! First time where I may get two or three of each figure.

I love the city sets & the Chinese New Year sets that are stackable, those are really nice looking.

  • Henry December 7, 2021, 8:44 PM

Aren’t the BrickLink sets also coming in January? I vaguely remember reading something like that.

    • Håkan December 8, 2021, 7:55 AM

The crowdfunding procedure took quite a long time, as far as I recall, so the sets being shipped would have been sold out long ago…

  • Håkan December 10, 2021, 9:17 AM

By the way, does that pink-haired Harry Potter minifig have a new skin color? Or at least a color that’s not regularly used as a skin color?

Personally, I’d rather like a proper “Asian Color”, maybe somewhere halfway between Tan and Light Nougat, but perhaps Lego is wary of releasing such a color with little usage outside of skin tones…

(Also, I’d like a proper Reddish Orange (Vermillion) color, and a return of Paradisa Medium Green… The Paradisa Light Green and Medium Green colors needed more general basic parts to make gradients between the various green nuances…)
