LEGO Lord of the Rings Rivendell Designer-Video

The most beautiful and inspiring LEGO set released this year is undoubtedly the #10316 LEGO Lord of the Rings Rivendell. This massive and highly detailed set comes with 6,167 pieces, measures over 15 in. (39 cm) high, 29.5 in. (75 cm) wide, and 19.5 in. (50 cm) deep and splits into 3 sections: the tower, the council ring and the gazebo with river and bridge The set also features 15 minifigures, including legendary characters such as Frodo, Sam, Bilbo Baggins, Boromir, Gimli, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gandalf the Grey. You can read more about the set here: LEGO The Lord of the Rings Rivendell Press-Release

Yesterday, LEGO released the designer-video for the set, where LEGO Designers Chris Perron, Wes Talbott, and Ashwin Visser walk us through the details of this beautiful model. If you have any interest in purchasing this set, I highly recommend watching it. The designers share so many interesting details!

Beautiful set, isn’t it?  All those small and unusually shaped LEGO bricks and the muted colors really capture the atmosphere. And did you see all those amazing new printed elements and new weapons and accessories? If you would like to purchase the set or just see more pictures and find out more information, visit the LEGO Lord of the Rings section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? Did you learn anything new and/or interesting about the set from the designers? Are you planning to get the set now or in the future? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

Am I the only one that likes to wait until after I build a set to watch the designer videos? To not be spoiled, and to see what I caught and what I may have missed during the building?

I usually like to watch the video beforehand for really expensive sets. It helps me make a financial decision. The designers are usually careful to be informative but not reveal too much.

I always watch the designer videos and always learn something. I don’t feel they spoil the experience. By the time I get the set (if I get it at all), I forget everything they said anyway. Haha.

I was really hoping that this set was going to be released when they made that small Rivendell set a few years back. It looks beautiful and so detailed! The printed tiles are amazing!

I love the books, the movies, and now this lego set. So beautiful! I don’t know when I can get this, but it’s on my list of most wanted sets.

Awesome! I love what they did with all the curvy white pieces. It must be a paint to align them though. Same with the roof tiles.

There was a tip that you could use a long tile piece for alignment, if I remember correctly, so it wasn’t as hard as it appeared.

Otherwise, the set looks cool, but I don’t have the time, space and funds for it, and I’ve never been a serious fan of the LOTR franchise, anyway. I’ll mostly focus on Marvel and Space stuff, I guess.
