LEGO recently released some fantastic 3-in-1 sets in the LEGO Creator line. These sets include instructions for three different alternate models that you can build from the included pieces. I like these sets as they are creative, include useful pieces, and usually aren’t very expensive.
The #31146 LEGO Creator Truck with Helicopter features a tiny transporter truck with moving wheels that can carry on its trailer a helicopter with moving rotor blades. The alternate models are a propeller plane and fuel truck with moving wheels, or a hot rod and SUV. The price of this set is just $19.99, and it’s available at the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The #31147 LEGO Creator Retro Camera features a moving lens, buttons on the top to take a photo, an opening back to place a brick-built piece of film inside, and a multicolored textile strap to carry it. There are also six stickers to add to the film strip to represent photos. The set can be rebuilt into a retro video camera or a retro TV with an antenna. The #31148 LEGO Creator Retro Roller Skate is such a fun set! It features a roller skate with four moving pink wheels, a pink stopper, thick yellow laces, and a set of colorful pieces to decorate the heel of the boot with your own designs. Then, you can rebuild the set into a colorful retro mini skateboard with four moving wheels, or a retro boom box radio with a small antenna. The #31149 LEGO Creator Flowers in Watering Can set features a brick-built yellow watering can with a handle and spout. It’s filled with three flowers with movable petals and 3 butterflies on transparent sticks that give the impression they are flying. The set can be rebuilt into a yellow rain boot filled with three flowers with movable petals, or two cute yellow birds on a flower-covered perch. The #31150 LEGO Creator Wild Safari Animals features a poseable giraffe with a tree and a flamingo as the main model. Alternatively, you can build two poseable gazelles – a mother with her calf – plus 2 bushes, or a lion with a tree and a butterfly. The #31152 LEGO Creator Space Astronaut features a brick-built astronaut with a detachable jet propulsion backpack, poseable legs, feet, arms, fingers, and a golden opening visor with a seat inside for a minifigure (not included). The alternate models are a futuristic space dog with poseable legs and tail, or a space viper jet with a seat for a minifigure (not included) to pilot it. The #31155 LEGO Creator Hamster Wheel features an interactive playhouse where one hamster can run around a spinning wheel and another can zoom down a slide. This hamster playground is also packed with cool accessories including a water tank, a tire, a hanging bell, and a food bowl. The alternate models are a play area for a car with a spinning wheel and a skateboard, or a doghouse where a dog can slide down a ramp and play with cool toys. The #31156 LEGO Creator Tropical Ukulele features a ukulele on a beach scene stand with two colorful flowers and grass. The instrument can be detached from the stand and has four plastic strings that vibrate when strummed. The set can be rebuilt into a small leaping dolphin on an ocean and beach stand with a palm tree, flowers, and a seashell, or make a detachable surfboard on a beach scene stand with flowers and a radio. The #31157 LEGO Creator Exotic Peacock is another gorgeously colored set! It features a peacock with a set of beautiful and detailed tail feathers that can be folded down or proudly spread out. The alternate builds are a dragonfly with poseable wings and tail on a lily-pad stand, or a colorful butterfly with poseable wings.
