LEGO Micro Rocket Launchpad Promotion Now!

Just a quick note that one of the most anticipated LEGO free-with-purchase sets this year is now available! The #40712 LEGO Micro Rocket Launchpad is inspired by some of the most iconic LEGO space sets from between 1978 and 1983.

The #40712 LEGO Micro Rocket Launchpad features four micro models: the rocket launchpad and space station from the #483 LEGO Classic Space Alpha Rocket Base from 1979, the rocket transport vehicle from the #6950 LEGO Mobile Rocket Transport from 1982, and the spaceship from the #6803 LEGO Space Patrol from 1983.

The set also comes with two micro space characters (also referred to as space babies) in spacesuits and helmets, and they can be placed inside the spaceship, space base and rocket transport vehicle. In the video below, you can see the set in full detail.

This set is currently only available for members of the LEGO Insiders program (free to join) until February 18th with purchases of $200 or more. Then, it will be available for all until February 25th (or while supplies last). This offer is valid at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop.

As we discussed previously, there are tons of new sets released this year, and if you would like to get this freebie, this is the perfect time to make a purchase. If you like LEGO Classic Space, there are a number of space-themed sets to consider, but you can also pick from other themes as well. You can find all the new sets at the new items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? Are you excited with the LEGO Classic Space freebie? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

    Ohhh! Baby spacemen! Haha!

Technically, as their heads lack the baby design, they would rather be Chibi/ Super-Deformed spacemen, I think (to borrow manga/ anime terminology).

Otherwise, it’s a cool GWP, but I have to prioritize my space and funds and don’t really see much else that I’m willing to spend roughly $200 on, at the meantime. I might check out the secondary market later…

No kidding. I just spent a bunch of $$$ in January on new sets, and I simply don’t have another 200 bucks. But I really want to get this. I hope it will be available at the Insiders page at some point.

The sets tend to end up on the secondary market, but they generally cost somewhat more than regular sets…
