As announced back in September (see links at the end of this post), the LEGO Group and Formula 1 are teaming up for a multi-year partnership. And last week, they finally unveiled their brand-new range of LEGO sets at the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix 2024 race. All sets are launching in early 2025, just in time to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Formula 1, and some of them are already available for pre-order. Details below.
The product reveal is the first step in the new multi-year partnership between the two brands, which will connect more fans of LEGO-building with the world of Formula 1, bringing together two passionate global fanbases.
As part of the product lineup, for the first time ever, all ten F1 teams will be featured across the product portfolio, including sets from LEGO Speed Champions, LEGO City, LEGO Icons, LEGO Technic, LEGO DUPLO, and LEGO Collectibles.
The detailed sets from LEGO Speed Champions offer an engaging building experience that connects fans to their favorite teams. And if that wasn’t enough, fans will be able to get their hands on all 10 teams in miniature form with the LEGO collectible sets, as well as the F1 and F1 Academy branded show cars.
Younger fans and parents can also share their passion for racing with the new LEGO DUPLO Town F1 Team Race Cars & Drivers. The set features all the essentials for a Grand Prix weekend, with a starting grid, a podium, two cars, and two drivers, with fans able to customize their build to represent any of the 10 F1 teams’ liveries. The set will also include additional pieces to build unique modifications and assemble the ultimate F1 race car ready to fight for wins on the track.
For fans that love race action, the LEGO City F1 range, comprising six different sets, is guaranteed to excite. With the ability to recreate race weekend scenarios from vehicle transport and repairs in the team garage to the race start and even super speedy pit stops; fans will be able to immerse themselves into the world of F1 like never before with LEGO brick builds packed with intricate details, allowing fans to use their imagination to bring F1 race weekends into their living room.
Daniel Meehan, Creative Lead at the LEGO Group, said: “We’re delighted to finally reveal this incredible line-up of products coming in 2025. We hope these products will provide hours of creativity and play for F1 and LEGO fans alike, allowing them to recreate their favorite racing moments, as well as create some new ones.”
Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Formula 1, an iconic brand that shares our commitment to innovation, creativity, and inspiring future generations. Together, we’re creating products that ignite curiosity and foster a love of engineering and speed in builders of all ages. This collection uniquely combines the excitement of Formula 1 with the endless possibilities of LEGO play, capturing all 10 teams on the F1 grid for the first time. Our goal is to bring families together to build, explore, and share their passion for the sport, offering something truly special for everyone.”
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1, said: “Formula 1 and the LEGO Group are proud to unveil the first product range of our partnership. This fantastic range caters to our entire fan base, with each set celebrating a crucial element and the intricate details of the world of Formula 1, from the pitstops and team garages to the car itself. We share our fans’ excitement to see this special partnership come to life and I cannot wait for fans to start building.”
Beyond products, 2025 will offer fans a host of content and experiences, on digital platforms and at races through interactive fan zones during Grand Prix weekends, bringing a whole season of ‘Build the Thrill’ activities to F1 & LEGO fans, with more information to come.
All products in the LEGO Group and Formula 1 collection will be launching in early 2025, with LEGO DUPLO and LEGO City sets available starting January 1st, LEGO Speed Champions starting March 1st with pre-orders starting today in select regions, and LEGO Collectibles will be available from the 1st of May.
