In the recently released September-October issue of the LEGO Club Magazine there is a page where all the new LEGO Collectible Minifigs Series 14 characters are featured in a Halloween setting. The picture is fun, however what really caught my attention is the spooky house included in the layout. Rather than just being a digital background image, this is a fully built LEGO Halloween House that somewhat resembles the #10228 LEGO Monster Fighters Haunted House from 2012 – one of the best and most detailed LEGO houses ever released. 🙂
The LEGO Spooky House has the same sand-green, tan and gray color-scheme with a black roof and exposed dark-tan masonry-bricks as the LEGO Monster Fighters Haunted House. However the construction of this house is much simpler and smaller. The entire building is on a 10×8 stud plate, and it is two stories tall with a third story attic. There is also a bit of an archway sticking out on one side. Looks like LEGO knew there is going to be quite a bit of interest in this house because they thoughtfully included the following disclaimer: “Spooky House Not Included in Product 71010” – which is the number for the LEGO Collectible Minifigs Series 14.
If you are planning to have a LEGO setup for Halloween, I think it would be worth building the LEGO Spooky House, because it looks really good. There are no building instructions, however the picture is clear enough that you could recreate at least the front and one side of the structure. The other two sides you would have to design yourself, but it should be easy enough. It also appears that this house has a modular design, meaning that the second and third floors are removable. Based on the size and style you could even add this as an end-of-the row spooky house to your LEGO Modular Building layout – just sayin’… 😈
Since the LEGO Spooky House is so well developed I wouldn’t be surprised if at some point LEGO releases this as a set, or at least makes the instructions available. If not, you can still build it yourself without much trouble – especially if you have the now retired #10228 LEGO Monster Fighters Haunted House. Also, don’t forget about the other LEGO Halloween sets we talked about before; the #40122 LEGO Halloween Trick or Treat set and the entire LEGO Collectible Minifigs Series 14. You can find them at the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO Spooky House? Are you up to the challenge of building it yourself? Or do you wish LEGO would release it as a set? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

There is no doubt that the new wave of LEGO Ninjago sets are excellent, especially the #70751 LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu. (Find reviews of the sets here: LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu Review and LEGO Ninjago – 2015 Summer Sets Reviews) And you can make the sets even more exceptional by combining them. This is exactly what Eurobricks members Songwm, Cao and Alson have done; they have built an epic display including almost all of the new LEGO Ninjago sets. 🙂
The LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu’s rocky base has been expanded into a whole hilltop with more buildings and trees. I really like how a small pond was added under the bridge of the temple, with the water cascading down through a waterfall. The rockwork and other landscaping is done really well throughout this scene, and the fall colors of the foliage makes the whole layout especially picturesque.
On the other side of the diorama there is an intense battle-scene with Sensei Wu and the ninja fighting all kinds of ghostly creatures. The dragons, mechs, and other vehicles from the summer LEGO Ninjago sets are all included. And in between the serene hilltop with the temple and the battle-scene, there is a beautiful river with the #70738 LEGO Ninjago Destiny’s Bounty gliding through the water, while the #70735 LEGO Ninjago Ronin R.E.X. is flying above the river to help out in the aerial fight. See can see more pictures at Eurobricks here.
This is not the first time these talented builders created a large LEGO Ninjago diorama; they have also done it with the previous wave of LEGO Ninjago sets. Their collaborative work was on display at their local LEGO store. This diorama also features beautiful landscaping and dramatic battle-scenes. You can see more pictures at Eurobricks here.
I hope these LEGO Ninjago creations inspire you to expand your own building skills and ideas. Also, note that you don’t have to build everything yourself. If you have friends who also enjoy the LEGO hobby, you can work together on larger projects. This is a wonderful way to spend time with friends and do bigger and better things than each person could do on their own. If you are interested to create your own LEGO Ninjago scene, and you don’t have the sets already, all of the ones featured here are available at the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.
So what do you think? How do you like these LEGO Ninjago dioramas? Have you built something like this by yourself or with friends? Or are you planning to? Feel free to share your thoughts and your own creations in the comment section below! 😉
