As you probably know already, I’m a big fan of BrickForge for their custom LEGO elements. Their variety, quality, and color selection of custom LEGO items is really unmatched. Many LEGO customizers make things like weapons (mostly firearms), but BrickForge has everything. Yes, they do have a huge variety of firearms, bladed weapons (both life-like and from fantasy realms), but also helmets, armor pieces, everyday tools and accessories, LEGO compatible animals and more!
I regularly shop at BrickForge when I work on various LEGO projects. Just a week ago I ordered a bunch of their test-tubes as I found them to be really useful little plugs that can nicely finish off a LEGO model or work as connectors between small parts.
Before I ordered I learned at BrickForge’s flickr gallery that Armothe (who runs BrickForge) is really in his creative mood and has been drawing minifigures on receipts – all you have to do is ask. In case you didn’t know, Armothe is a wonderful artist with mad drawing skills (check out the amazing knight below he drew on someone’s receipt).
So when I placed my order I figured it is worth to ask that Armothe draws me something too. The worse that could happen is that my request will be ignored. But it wasn’t. When I opened my package I found this awesome ninja (if you are a Ninjago fan you know which ninja he is) on my receipt. The details and shading on this little guy are amazing. It is even better in real life than what you see on the picture. I also noticed that Armothe has a really light hand; this is a pencil drawing and you can barely notice one or two lines at the back of the paper. I know when I draw I tend to press through the paper. Anyway, it is always nice to see the artwork of talented people. I know I will treasure this drawing and keep it safe. I always admired Armothe’s artistic skills and it is nice to have something one-of-a-kind from him.
I’m not sure how long Armothe is going to remain inspired to draw on receipts, and he probably can’t do it on every single one even if he would want to, but if you would like to receive a super special custom artwork from him, it doesn’t hurt to ask the next time you place an order from BrickForge. Recently they also added more printed items (I highly recommend these; they are beautiful), and they are also running some special deals. You can visit their online store here: BrickForge Online Shop
What do you think? How do you like the ninja drawing I got from Armothe? And what about the other drawings? Are you thinking about requesting a drawing with your order too? What would it be? Feel free to share in the comment section below!
