2015 LEGO exclusive sets rumors…

We have been discussing many of the 2015 LEGO sets coming next year (see links at the end of this post), and it is exciting to see such a nice line-up from our favorite themes. Although they haven’t been announced officially as of yet, the set pictures, minifigs and some of the details are already available. Unless some major disaster or something happens, you can count on that these sets will be available in January. 🙂

LEGO 2015 Exclusive Sets Rumors

Besides the solid information about the regular LEGO sets there are also rumors circulating about some large exclusive sets coming later in 2015. I normally don’t like to post rumors until there is at least some solid information, however at this time I will make an exception as readers have been consistently asking about these both by email and in the comment section of various articles. So I decided to collect and address these rumors in one post, thus we can discuss them all in one place.

Please note that these are rumors. They do come from fairly reliable sources – in other words they come from people who won’t intentionally spread misinformation. However keep in mind that many times in the past such rumors ended up being either completely or at least partially wrong. This may have been the result of miscommunication, misinterpreted information, or LEGO’s own changing plans. The bottom line is; take everything you read here with a grain of salt. So now that we have that cleared, let’s talk about the three large exclusive LEGO sets coming next year.

LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES – AVENGERS HELICARRIER: This rumor was first posted by LEGO blogger Allen from TheBrickFan.com. According to his source, this is going to be a very large, Ultimate Collector Series type set with around 3,000 pieces, for about $300, released next summer. LEGO DC Comics has recently gotten the #76023 LEGO Super Heroes Tumbler, which has close to 2,000 pieces with the price of $200. So from this perspective it does seem plausible that Marvel also gets a large LEGO set. Other that this information, nothing else is known. Below is a LEGO Avengers Helicarrier model by YoSub Joo that recently made it to 10,000 votes on LEGO Ideas. Please note this is NOT an indication of what the rumored set will be like – after all this model is over 22,000 pieces! I simply put it here for your reference and because it is awesome! 😀

LEGO STAR WARS UCS TIE FIGHTER: I believe this rumor started by a member of Brickset in this thread, and later confirmed by other reliable sources as well. LEGO normally releases a LEGO Star Wars UCS set on May the 4th (which is traditionally Star Wars Day), so that part checks out. We have already gotten the #7181 LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor in the year 2000, and the #10175 LEGO Star Wars Vader’s TIE Advanced in 2006, so there is some precedent that LEGO likes to make TIE variants in the Ultimate Collector Series. This set supposed to be around $200 with 1,600 pieces. The currently available LEGO Star Wars UCS sets are the #10225 LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 model, the #10240 LEGO Star Wars Red Five X-wing, the #75059 LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler, and the #75060 LEGO Star Wars Slave I will be released in January.

LEGO THE SIMPSONS KWIK-E-MART: This rumor also started by Allen from TheBrickFan.com. According to his source it will be somewhat cheaper than the currently available #71006 LEGO The Simpsons House set (which is an excellent set, by the way, but it is $200). Although this is only a rumor at this point, there is a good possibility of it happening as we already know that a second wave of LEGO The Simpsons Collectible Minifigures are scheduled for next year.

So these are the three large exclusive LEGO sets rumored to be released next year. Again, take this all with a grain or even teaspoon of salt. However now you know what’s circulating out there, and we have one place to discuss any updates on these sets. There is also a video round-up about the above news from just2good. I believe his reasoning is quite circular in trying to prove that the rumors are in fact true, but he can be forgiven; LEGO fans are an enthusiastic bunch, and we love to believe good rumors on rare and expensive sets. Hope he ends up being right. And for currently available LEGO exclusives you can check out the Online LEGO Shop.

As you can see we get a nice assortment of sets this time around as well, so LEGO Legends of Chima fans should be happy. I believe that the battle-packs should be especially popular; they are cheap, include some really nice minifigs and a great assortment of accessories. Below I’m also including the original YouTube video from just2good who originally posted the images, so you can see the alternate pictures for each of the sets.

So what do you think? How do you like the 2015 LEGO Legends of Chima sets? And what about the new minifigs? Do you have a favorite tribe? Are you planning to get any of the battle-packs to build animal-tribe armies? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!
