As we discussed at the beginning of the month, five new LEGO Jurassic Park sets are now available. So let’s take a closer look!
The #76957 LEGO Jurassic Park Velociraptor Escape is considered a starter set for kids aged 4 and up just transitioning from LEGO DUPLO to regular-size LEGO bricks. It could also be a good set for those who want to give the LEGO Jurassic World theme a try. The set features a poseable Velociraptor, a quick-build dinosaur pen, a small off-roader, and two minifigures; Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Robert Muldoon. The tower and dinosaur pen, inspired by the Jurassic Park movie, measures over 6.5 in. (17 cm) high, 6.5 in. (16 cm) wide and 4 in. (11 cm) deep. The set comes with 137 pieces and the price is $39.99. Available at the LEGO Jurassic World section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The #76958 LEGO Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus Ambush features a Dilophosaurus with highly detailed printing and a fantastic Jurassic Park Jeep with a driver’s seat for Dennis Nedry and a removable roof. There is also a small jungle build, including an ‘East Dock’ sign for the Jeep to knock over like in the movie and a printed Barbasol can. This set comes with 211 pieces and the price is $19.99. Available at the LEGO Jurassic World section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The #76959 LEGO Jurassic Park Triceratops Research set comes with an authentically detailed Jurassic Park Ford Explorer with an onboard navigation system to track dinosaurs and space for the two minifigures; Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm. The set also includes a poseable Triceratops and a buildable pile of dinosaur poop with a toxic berry element (haha!). In the video below, JANGBRiCKS will show you the set in more detail. Comes with 281 pieces and the price is $49.99. Available at the LEGO Jurassic World section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The #76960 LEGO Jurassic Park Brachiosaurus Discovery set’s main feature is the majestic Brachiosaurus, the tallest LEGO dinosaur to date. And you also get a Jeep Wrangler, as well as a fairly large tree with a viewing platform. The Jeep has space for all three included minifigures; Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and John Hammond. The set comes with 512 pieces and the price is $79.99. Available at the LEGO Jurassic World section of the Online LEGO Shop.
The #76961 LEGO Jurassic Park Visitor Center: T. rex & Raptor Attack is the largest of the new sets featuring the Jurassic Park Visitor Center with its distinctive architecture, entrance hall, kitchen/dining area, and lab. The Visitor Center measures over 6.5 in. (16 cm) high, 12.5 in. (32 cm) wide, and 6.5 in. (17 cm) deep, and the various areas are divided by semi-transparent screens with dinosaur graphics. A fun play-feature is that you can place the buildable T. rex skeleton in the entrance hall and make the ‘When dinosaurs ruled the Earth’ banner fall down at the flick of a trigger during battles between the posable T. rex and Velociraptor. The six minifigures are Dr. Ellie Sattler, Dr. Alan Grant, Ray Arnold, Dr. Henry Wu, Lex Murphy, and Tim Murphy. This set comes with 693 pieces and the price is $129.99. Available at the LEGO Jurassic World section of the Online LEGO Shop.
I really like that this collection comes with three different jeeps. This is something fans have been asking for a long time. And of course, the new dinos are awesome too! As far as the Visitor Center, it has a really nice facade that I feel would be an excellent starting point for a larger version of the building.
