With Valentine’s Day coming up tomorrow, I browsed the Online LEGO Shop to see which sets would make great gifts and/or would be fun to build together. There is quite a great selection this year!

All the sets in the LEGO Botanical Collection make perfect gifts and building projects for Valentine’s Day! The two latest additions are the #10313 LEGO Icons Flower Bouquet with 939 pieces for the price of $59.99, inspired by cornflowers, lavender, Welsh poppies, cow parsley, leather leaf ferns, gerbera daisies, larkspur, and lupines. And the #10314 LEGO Icons Dried Flower Centerpiece with 812 pieces for the price of $49.99 features a selection of tonal blooms with a gerbera and a rose for focal points. They are both available at the LEGO botanical sets section of the Online LEGO Shop.

The previously released #10280 LEGO Icons Flower Bouquet with 756 pieces for the price of $59.99 is another beautiful set inspired by real flowers such as roses, snapdragons, poppies, asters, daisies, and grasses. It’s still available at the LEGO botanical sets section of the Online LEGO Shop. You can even mix the two bouquets to make a larger arrangement.

Three smaller flower arrangements are also available; the #40646 LEGO Yellow & White Daffodils, the #40460 LEGO Red Roses, and the #40524 LEGO Sunflowers. They can be displayed individually, or mixed together, or added to the larger bouquets. All three sets are $12.99 each and are available at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Below are a couple of video-reviews about these lovely botanical sets by JANGBRiCKS.

A really cute smaller set is the #40638 LEGO Heart Ornament. It includes 254 pieces, a hanger element for display, and plenty of extra accessories for complete customization. The price is only $12.99 and the set is available at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Another cute set is the #40522 LEGO Valentine Lovebirds. The perfect display kit for partners to share, the birds rest on a branch decorated with pink hearts and flowers alongside a big red heart to make it even more obvious how much the two are in love. This set is also $12.99 and is available at the seasonal items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

I don’t remember ever seeing so many lovely sets appropriate for Valentine’s Day at the same time. I built several of the LEGO Botanical sets and it was always a delightful experience with lots of surprising pieces, techniques, and colors. You can even build vases for them, or use any vase you already have. And I like small interactive sets like the heart and the birds that allows partner-building and never-ending customization.

LEGO Ideas – Two New Sets Coming!

LEGO recently released the #21338 LEGO Ideas A-Frame Cabin, and there are also nine other fan creations that are in development via the LEGO Ideas platform and will be launching at different points in the future. But that’s not all. Over the past months, the LEGO Ideas review board evaluated 51 stunning product ideas that reached 10,000 supporters between early May 2022 and early September 2022, and they picked two other projects that will become official LEGO sets.

One of these projects is the LEGO Red London Telephone Box by John Cramp (a.k.a. Bricked1980). Being born and bred in Great Britain, John wanted to share his love for the British cultural and design icon that is the Red London Telephone Box. It’s so well known that you likely have seen or heard about it even if you haven’t visited Great Britain, as some telephone boxes were exported to other parts of the world! If you’d like to learn more about John Cramp then make sure to check out his 10K Club Interview.

The second project that was just approved is the LEGO Nightmare Before Christmas by Simon Scott (a.k.a. Tvrulesmylife). There’s no doubt that Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas has a special place in Simon’s heart. This is in fact the second time he’s reached 10,000 supporters with his representation of this fan-favorite and much-loved stop-motion animated musical. Simon’s updated version also had a renewed focus on playability to really get immersed into the story. If you’d like to learn more about Simon Scott then make sure to check out his 10K Club Interview.

In addition, the next batch of LEGO Ideas product suggestions is already being reviewed as we speak. This time around 35 submissions made it through, cementing their spot in the review by reaching 10,000 supporters between early September 2022 and early January 2023. We can expect to hear about any selected models sometime this summer.

The LEGO Ideas team is still working out the final product design, pricing, and availability for the two selected projects and they will share more when the sets get closer to launch. For the currently available sets originally designed and submitted by LEGO fans, visit the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the two new sets added to the LEGO Ideas collection? Are you planning to get either of them? And which projects are you most excited about in the next review period? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!
