2013 LEGO sets video commercials!

The New Year is here, and LEGO wants to make sure it starts out with a bang! So many new and exciting sets have been released already for the New Year (you can read about them here: More 2013 LEGO Sets are Now Available!) and LEGO released a bunch of new 2013 LEGO set videos to let you know about them and highlight all the playability and cool features. I thought to share with you some of the best ones. 😛

➡ 2013 LEGO LEGEND OF CHIMA VIDEO: this new theme is being heavily marketed by LEGO right now (see: LEGO Legends of Chima – More News!). We talked about the TV show commercials extensively, and here you can see a couple of the larger sets in action! ➡ 2013 LEGO STAR WARS VIDEO: there are lots of interesting new sets for LEGO Star Wars, and none of them are too big or expensive. ➡ 2013 LEGO NINJAGO VIDEO: the future of Ninjago is still a bit uncertain, however there is a whole new wave of sets that are still worth checking out. They came out right around Christmas, so it is likely that many people missed them. If you are a Ninjago fans the Golden Ninja is definitely a must! And some of the smaller sets are also really nice. ➡ 2013 LEGO CITY VIDEO: more police and firefighter action – a perennial favorite of the target age-group. One set I particularly like is the #6007 LEGO City High Speed Chase with Chase McCain and those 6-stud wide vehicles. ➡ 2013 LEGO FRIENDS VIDEO: the LEGO theme developed just for girls continues to go strong. This year a lot of small sets and a couple of medium sets have been added to let the Heartlake City girls branch out into different and diverse hobbies. LEGO Legends of Chima – More News!

LEGO is really pulling out all stops as far as promoting the new LEGO Legends of Chima theme. Here are some updates you don’t want to miss!

➡ First of all the LEGO Legends of Chima micro-site is now live! This means no more teaser-images only, but everything you ever wanted to know about the world of Chima and its characters. Of course there are pages for all the LEGO Legends of Chima sets and Speedorz game sets, including designer videos. There is a news section with the latest updates. There are also videos about the world of Chima, the characters, the upcoming TV show, and also on how to play the Speedorz game (including how to use the cards). You can also download wallpapers, posters, building instructions, and in general immerse yourself in the Legends of Chima.

➡ The LEGO Club Magazine has its entire front section dedicated to Legends of Chima, including an awesome poster, and a removable comic-book section to get you started understanding the story behind the legends. It is interesting to note from both the LEGO Chima music-video above and from the LEGO Club Magazine that the Lion prince Laval, and Cragger (who took over the leadership of the Crocodile Tribe following the disappearance of his parents), used to be best friends, until Cragger got greedy and decided to take all the CHI of Chima for himself. The other tribes (the Eagles, Ravens, and Wolves) are basically just taking sides in the main battle between the Lions and Crocodiles.

From the video you can also see there are other animal tribes. Of course we already know about the Gorillas, but you can also see some Rhinos and Bears. At this point we do know that the Gorillas will be in the summer wave of LEGO Legends of Chima sets, however there is no information on the Rhinos and Bears. Will they appear in a future LEGO Legends of Chima set? We just have to wait and see…

➡ The third big LEGO Legends of Chima news item is the release of Legends of Chima video-games. There is the LEGO Legends of Chima Speedorz Online Game – a racing game that is already available on the LEGO Legends of Chima micro-site, and will also come to iOS devices. Then, there is an adventure game called LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey, where players can fight alongside Laval and his friends. The game is currently under development by TT Games. It will be available on PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS later in the year. And there is also going to be a LEGO Legends of Chima Online Game. This is going to be a free-to-play game where players can customize their own world, execute missions, etc. The game is being devel0ped by WP Games Montreal and should be available in the fall. LEGO Legends of Chima Speedorz Online Game

➡ The last LEGO Legends of Chima news to be aware of is that there will be a one hour LEGO Legends of Chima series preview on Cartoon Network on Wednesday, January 16th. Make sure you don’t miss that!

So, these are the big news items right now in the world of Chima. There are other, smaller details and news that are definitely interesting, but let’s just stay with these for now. There is plenty to see, learn and digest. Keep in mind that if you go the LEGO Legends of Chima website it may load slow for you. In this case just go back later. The site is obviously flooded by curious fans who want to see and try out everything at once!
