Participate in the LEGO fan community survey!

A couple of days ago LEGO contacted various LEGO User Groups asking them to encourage their members to complete a new online survey. This is your chance to share valuable information with LEGO so they can continue improving their products and services. 🙂

LEGO is particularly enthusiastic to reach as many adult LEGO fans as possible to take the survey and help them with their market-research, so please let your friends and family who are into LEGO know about the survey too. Here are the LEGO survey details:

Dear LEGO fan,

The LEGO fan community is important to us. To improve and support the LEGO fan community we have partnered with Aarhus University, Denmark, and DePaul University, Chicago, to carry out this survey. The survey is part of a large ongoing research project aimed at better understanding user activities and interactions in communities.

We would greatly appreciate if you would complete the questionnaire. It will take you approx. 20-30 minutes. Please note that you must be at least 13 years old to take this survey.

The survey ends by May, 17, 2012 (midnight GMT). All responses are strictly confidential. We will share the top line findings (in English) with you once we have analyzed the data.

Thank you very much for your help!

Kind regards,

Jan Beyer – Community Operations Manager EU/Asia
James Foulds – Community Operations Senior Manager, Americas/Australia
Tormod Askildsen – Head of the LEGO Community Events & Engagement team

You can find the survey at the following links. Thanks for participating!

If you have any questions or comments about this LEGO survey you are welcome to share them below. How did you like the survey? Any particular questions that stood out for you? How do you think LEGO will use this info? Any ways you think the survey could be improved? 🙄

LEGO app for iPhone & iPod by Brick Tub

Can’t think of any new things to build with your tub of LEGO bricks? Want step by step instructions for fun LEGO brick creations? Well, if you have an iPhone or iPod you may want to try out this new LEGO app from Brick Tub! Isn’t technology great? 🙂

The Brick Tub LEGO app was created by Ethan Smith and his dad to help LEGO fans with building ideas, using only the #6166 LEGO Ultimate Brick Tub. So even if you only have basic bricks and a smaller LEGO collection this LEGO app will give you plenty of ideas to improve your building skills.

The Brick Tub LEGO app is also great for road-trips, airline-flights, at work, at school, or anytime you miss your full LEGO collection. All the instruction data is stored on your device, so it works great on an iPod Touch or when your iPhone doesn’t have reception.

Brick Tub uses real life photos of LEGO bricks for each step. This makes Brick Tub easier to use than other LEGO apps, as you can see what the LEGO model looks like in real life, not just a digital representation of it. Here is an introductory video on how the Brick Tub LEGO app works:

Since Brick Tub only uses one LEGO set the building possibilities are limited, but still there is a great variety of animals, vehicles, and buildings. Also, Ethan is very open to feedback and ideas; if there are any LEGO models you would like to see in Brick Tub let him know. You can read more about the Brick Tub LEGO app on their website at BrickTub.com, and buy the app at the App Store for less than a dollar: Brick Tub LEGO App

Ethan was kind enough to give us a handful of promo codes so our readers can try out his LEGO app and give him feedback. If you are willing to write a short review of the Brick Tub LEGO app in the comment section below, just ask me and I will send you a promo code. Please remember that I only have a few promo codes, so first come first serve. 😉

So grab your iPhone or iPod, your LEGO brick tub and LEGO app, and get busy building! If you don’t have the #6166 LEGO Ultimate Brick Tub, you can get it easily at department stores like Wal-Mart and Target, or online at LEGO.com and Amazon.com. Below are LEGO tub listings on Amazon:
