As we discussed at the beginning of the month, LEGO just released a large selection of new LEGO Jurassic World sets with awesome new dinos, several vehicles, and a whole selection of new minifigs. There is a lot to see here, so let’s take a closer look.
The #76943 LEGO Jurassic World Pteranodon Chase is a Juniors (also known as 4+) set recommended for younger builders with simple building steps, some larger specialized parts, and printed elements. It features a buggy, fish stall, and dock. The two minifigs are Maisie and Owen with a couple of accessories. I think for adult LEGO fans, the main attraction here is going to be the printed fish stall sign and the minifig torsos and heads. The #76944 LEGO Jurassic World T. rex Dinosaur Breakout is another set for younger builders, so you can expect simple building steps and printed elements. It features an airport with a helipad, garage, helicopter, buggy, and collapsible fence, plus a poseable T. rex. There are also three minifigures; Owen Grady, Zia Rodriguez, and a wildlife guard. For adult fans, the main attraction here is the T. rex and the minifigs, the rest of the set is mostly to facilitate play by youngsters. The set comes with 140 pieces and the price is $49.99. The #76945 LEGO Jurassic World Atrociraptor Dinosaur Bike Chase comes with one full-sized dino with a new color combo and two small dinos battling it out in a rotating dinosaur fighting pit. There is also a small market stall, a red motorcycle, and two minifigures; Owen Grady and Rainn Delacourt. This is a nice smaller set for those who like to collect the different variations of dinosaurs! The #76946 LEGO Jurassic World Blue & Beta Velociraptor Capture has so many features to like! Inspired by a thrilling scene in the Jurassic World Dominion movie, it features an awesome red truck, a light-gray bike, and a dinosaur cage with a trap function and chicken drumstick for dinosaur bait. The two dinos are Blue and Beta, and the two minifigs are Maisie and Rainn Delacourt. The set comes with 181 pieces and the price is $29.99. The #76947 LEGO Jurassic World Quetzalcoatlus Plane Ambush features an airplane with space for three minifigures in its cockpit, spinning propellers, an opening cargo hold, and engines designed to break off under attack by the highly detailed and fantastic looking Quetzalcoatlus. The three minifigs are Owen Grady, Claire Dearing, and Kayla Watts with nicely detailed torso designs. The #76948 LEGO Jurassic World T. rex & Atrociraptor Dinosaur Breakout includes a buildable market, another awesome truck, plus two dinos. It’s basically the ultimate playset for Jurassic World Dominion fans for awesome dinosaur action! The #76951 LEGO Jurassic World Pyroraptor & Dilophosaurus Transport gives us yet another cool-looking off-roader with seats for two minifigures, a removable dinosaur tracker, and a detachable trailer with an opening cage that can hold a dinosaur. The two dinos are also awesome, and the three minifigs are Ian Malcolm, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and a guard with a tranquilizer. This set comes with 254 pieces and the price is $39.99. The #76956 LEGO Jurassic World T-rex Breakout is different from the other Jurassic World sets as it is meant for both play and display. It features a posable T. rex stomping on a flipped, crushed Ford Explorer, a second Ford Explorer and a smashed ‘electric’ fence. The four minifigs are Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, Tim Murphy, and Lex Murphy to help you recreate the famous movie scene. The set also comes with a brick-built frame, so you use it as a display. This is a fantastic wave for Jurassic World fans! The new dinos are amazing, and I also like several of the vehicles. Trucks and SUVs are always welcome and could be repurposed in other scenes and settings. I guess the hard part is to decide which sets to get!
