LEGO Ideas Red London Telephone Box Coming!

Today, the LEGO Group unveiled the iconic #21347 LEGO Ideas Red London Telephone Box set, a classic British symbol recognized worldwide. Released in the same year that the K2 Telephone Box celebrates its 100th anniversary, the new LEGO set is inspired by the iconic red and black structure that’s a quintessential symbol of London.

The perfect set for display, the #21347 LEGO Ideas Red London Telephone Box features an opening door, a light brick in the roof to illuminate the K2 Telephone Box when pushing down the top, and a lamppost with flowerpots and a cobbled street – invoking a sense of nostalgia and an enduring connection to a city that seamlessly blends history with modernity.

Designed by John Cramp, from Leicester, England, as part of the LEGO Ideas program – whereby fans can submit a design that other fans can then vote to be made into a real LEGO set. In a lovely twist that brings the set right up to date, the design also includes a stand for your mobile phone.

Talking about the new set, Michael Smy, Head of Street at BT Group said; “The K2 red phone box is seen as a British cultural icon throughout the world, and we’re delighted that the Lego Group is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its design with this model. Fast forward to today and whilst communications have rapidly evolved, the iconic K2 continues to play a part in communities through BT’s Adopt a Kiosk scheme. As we continue to build the next generation of communication networks, we’re proud that more than 7,200 phone boxes have already been adopted across the UK, repurposed into mini libraries and life-saving defibrillators, among others.”

The #21347 LEGO Ideas Red London Telephone Box set is going to be available for LEGO Insiders from the 1st of February and for all from the 4th February. Prices are as follows: €114.99 / £99.99 / $114.99 / 199.99 AUD / 999 CNY / 47990 HUF / 149.99 CAD. For more information and images, visit the LEGO Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Online LEGO Pick-A-Brick Reopens for 2024

As you may have noticed the Prick-A-Brick Standard section of the Online LEGO Shop was closed during the holidays. The closure was intended to allow LEGO’s Billund, Denmark warehouse to focus on the busy holiday season and prioritize requests for replacement pieces (lost/missing).

This is something that LEGO has been doing in the past few years, and it seems like it’s working well for them. However, this also means that LEGO fans aren’t able to order special parts during the holiday season. This is especially good to be aware of if you plan to work on custom projects at the end of a year/beginning of a new year.

However, the Pick-A-Brick Bestsellers option does remain open during the holiday season as orders from here are processed out of local distribution centers. And Pick-A-Brick Standard usually reopens by mid-January. This year is no exception, in fact, it reopened a bit early, and the team behind it continues to reintroduce elements until the end of the month.

Just to be clear, Pick-A-Brick Bestsellers orders are those that can be processed more quickly. (The pieces are highlighted in yellow at the Pick-A-Brick section of the Online LEGO Shop.) Orders are shipped from local warehouses (in the case of the U.S., from Illinois), and it is usually shipped within 5 business days. There is a $3.50 service fee for orders under $14. Pick-A Brick Standard pieces are shipped straight from the home of the brick in Billund, Denmark, and it takes up to 25 business days for orders to arrive. There is a $7.00 service fee for orders under $14. Orders from the two sections are processed separately.

LEGO Pick-A-Brick is a great way to get replacement parts, extra parts, and specialty elements in bulk. You can browse the full section at the Pick-A-Brick section of the Online LEGO Shop.
