2013 LEGO Lone Ranger sets pictures!

It was just a little over a week ago when LEGO made live the LEGO Lone Ranger website – too early by accident. We published a post about it, however later we had to blur the images by LEGO’s request once they realized the mistake. You can read the original post here with the story behind the LEGO Lone Ranger theme: 2013 LEGO Lone Ranger Website Now Open!

Now however there is a new source for even more LEGO Lone Ranger images and details, thanks to the latest version of the LEGO Consumer Catalog, which arrived early in some markets. Brickset member D-Dennis was kind enough to share the catalog pictures with the LEGO fan community. (You can click on images for larger view.)

As we have discussed in the previous post, there are six sets in the LEGO Lone Ranger line, based on the upcoming Lone Ranger movie. Enjoy! 😛

The sets are scheduled to be released in May of 2013, although we will probably see them a bit earlier. Below are the set names:

  • #79106 LEGO Lone Ranger Cavalry Builder
  • #79107 LEGO Lone Ranger Comanche Camp
  • #79108 LEGO Lone Ranger Stagecoach Escape
  • #79109 LEGO Lone Ranger Colby City Showdown
  • #79110 LEGO Lone Ranger Silver Mine Shootout
  • #79111 LEGO Lone Ranger Constitution Train Chase

So what do you think of LEGO Lone Ranger now that you have seen the pictures? Is this a theme you will be interested in? Or will you skip? Any interesting parts, minifigure accessories or colors you notice? Share your thoughts and feel free to discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I think that since everyone has been dying for a cowboy theme, this theme’s gonna be successful. 😛

    • admin December 19, 2012, 10:14 AM

Yes, that makes a lot of sense, although we will have to see if Classic Western fans will go for this theme or not. The sets are a little thin. Nothing like the old Western LEGO theme. 😉

      • Nace10 December 19, 2012, 10:21 AM

Yes, even though Classic Western was around before I was born, I think I they are awesome sets. However, the new Lone Rnger sets have more detailed minifigs, new colors, better building techniques, and new horses! 😉

        • admin December 19, 2012, 10:28 AM

That is true. And that is what I’m looking forward to also. I already have a bunch of Indians from the old Western wave (they are pretty cheap on Bricklink), but I like the new headgear and hair-pieces, so will probably give some of those to my guys. I’m not sure about the skin-color yet. I can’t realy make out what color they are using for these sets. I don’t like when they use reddish brown. It is too dark. But if it is a lighter shade and mre realistic, I may change my yellow-skin Indians to that color. We shall see… 😉
Oh, and yeah, kicking horseys! We can always use more of those! 😀

          • Nace10 December 19, 2012, 10:30 AM

Yeah! I only have two new horses!

            • gid617 December 19, 2012, 10:46 AM

Only two?! My count is 0… 😛

              • obi-wanfan2282 December 19, 2012, 10:48 AM

                Same here… 😛 I don’t think I’m gonna get any sets because I don’t like cowboys. 😛

                • gid617 December 19, 2012, 10:57 AM

I like cowboys; my problem was that I get the LotR sets without minifigures (you would not believe how much cheaper some of them can be that way!), and of course that means no horses either. And I couldn’t justify three dollars for a horse on bricklink… 😛

                  • obi-wanfan2282 December 19, 2012, 11:27 AM

                    I just want a few horses for stop-motion… 😛

                  • admin December 19, 2012, 11:58 AM

Yeah, that’s a great way to build up your LEGO collection; sets without minifigs. From the sellers perspective they already made the bulk of their money on minifigs, so they often let the sets got for crazy low prices. Great for us of course! 😉

As far as the horses, I’m sure prices will start to come down as they become more common. And LEGO usually sticks a horse or two in every set they can get them into. 🙄

                    • gid617 December 19, 2012, 12:45 PM

Yeah, I’m sure I’ll be able to pick up one or two pretty soon. 😀

                    • obi-wanfan2282 December 19, 2012, 12:48 PM

Where could I get sets without minifigures?

                    • admin December 19, 2012, 1:02 PM

I get them on eBay. 😉

                    • gid617 December 19, 2012, 5:30 PM

Do you find eBay cheaper or Bricklink? (I think licensed are better on bricklink but non-licensed can really only be found on eBay right?)

                    • admin December 20, 2012, 1:29 PM

It really depends. I have found that eBay is better for partial sets or slightly used sets. Simply because it is easier to list them, so there is a larger variety and competition. It is hard to list partial sets on Bricklink unless if it is a brand new set with just the minifigures taken out. So far partial sets I much prefer eBay. Also for older used sets. I pretty much only buy parts on Bricklink. But it is always a good idea to compare. 😉

                    • gid617 December 19, 2012, 5:27 PM

Bricklink is a good place. Ebay’s not bad, for some sets especially. It’s always good to do your math and compare! 😀

                    • obi-wanfan2282 December 19, 2012, 6:48 PM

Thanks! I’ll look into it. Maybe I’ll be able to get more sets. (But less minifigs. 😛 )

          • Mr.Duck December 19, 2012, 6:17 PM

You can get two Native Americans on the mini figure series.

  • Nace10 December 19, 2012, 10:09 AM

I personally think these are pretty cool. 😛

    • Nace10 December 19, 2012, 10:16 AM

The only problem is everybody will have six Lone Rangers, and five Tontos. Very much like how Indiana Jones was. I got around seven Indys, and I had less than half the sets!

      • gid617 December 19, 2012, 10:48 AM

Yeah, I had way too many Indianas too. Even now his pant’s and shirts are some of the most common things in my collection!

        • Me December 19, 2012, 1:12 PM

Can I have some? I lost parts of my only Indiana.

  • NinjaNut December 19, 2012, 10:30 AM

The train has a machine gun!!!!!!!!

    • Nace10 December 19, 2012, 10:31 AM

Yeah it does. Seems kinda weird, right?

      • Micho December 19, 2012, 11:11 AM

it’s not that weird, a lot of western movies have soemone whip out a machine gun cnnon… even on The LAst Samurai

  • NinjaNut December 19, 2012, 10:31 AM

I might get the mine for its pieces and the town for the houses

  • Håkan December 19, 2012, 10:42 AM

Are the railways compatible with the Train system?

    • admin December 19, 2012, 11:55 AM

Hakan, I assume the rails would be compatible. I don’t see why LEGO would make them different. There are basically two options; regular rails or the Indiana Jones narrow rails. From the picture and the width of the train these appear to be regular rails. 😉

  • gid617 December 19, 2012, 10:51 AM

I like the Bank/Sherrif one especially; some really nice pieces and the bank is awesome in itself. Looks like there might be some of the new brick pieces in tan as well! All the tan and rock in the mine is great for me, and the carrage is quite tempting with three horses…
The Calvary set is nice, but I’m not sure… with everything else on my list, I don’t think I’ll have any money to spare!

  • Kenton December 19, 2012, 10:56 AM

A second wave of LOTR and Hobbit coming, and now this?! My wallet is cringing at the sight… I was a big fan of the classic Western sets, and I will definitely be going for some of these. The minifigures are great (although how many Lone Rangers does one need?), and you can never have too many horses (especially in the new style)!

    • admin December 19, 2012, 11:56 AM

Kenton, thanks for sharing! I was looking forward to the opinion of someone who was a big fan of the classic Western sets. 🙂

  • Micho December 19, 2012, 11:07 AM

Did you guys see the new AWESOME female hairpiece on thestagecoach girl??? A must have if you ask me! Also, the Western Modular buildings might get approved by Cuuso tomorrow, so we might have more Wild West to choose from.

    • admin December 19, 2012, 12:02 PM

Yeah, I have been looking at that hair/hat piece! Really-really cute! 😛

  • The Yellow Ninja December 19, 2012, 11:11 AM

Well, I have to admit, this theme and movie are both going to be big. But let’s see what we have with the sets. First off, the train. Every western movie has to have a train heist, and this set seems to deliver that right on the spot. It comes with plenty of minifigures to go around, including the Lone Ranger himself, along with a bunch of cowboy badies to go with him. Though I don’t really get the big machine gun. If it were a real train heist, I highly doubt that there would be a giant machine gun on the back of a regular train. Next up, the city. I’ll be honest with you, it doesn’t look much like a city to me. But I can’t get over that beautiful bank that comes with it. I love how it fits right into the western theme. But the set still seems a little bit excessive for a showdown with just two people. Now onto the stage coach. This set definatly seems like it jump right out of a western film. I love the fact that we get three new horses with the set. And I adore the new hairpiece that the lady get in this set. Then we have the cavalry set. I can’t wait for this set because it seems to include the old shooting cannon piece! But it isn’t as big as I originally thought it would be. Now the mine’s turn. I love how this set looks and the techniques used in it. The minifigures look great, and I can’t get over that beautiful mining cart. Plus, we get an amazing new cowboy hat and hairpiece! This set is sadly going to be too expensive unfortunetley. Finally, the indian camp. I love that canoe piece that comes with it, and the new tepee looks incredible! Plus, look at all of those scorpion pieces. And that new chief headdress looks divine! With all of these amazing and fantastic sets! This theme will surely be a great addition to the Lego world.

    • Kai ZX December 19, 2012, 11:23 AM

I don’t see just two poeple in the duel in cobly city, theirs tonto the lone ranger the banker and two bandits. But what i like is the mine. So cool id like to get others but this bieng so expencive is going to make irt dificult. The Trians Pretty cool I LOVE the bank The calvary builder is cool since its cheep AND it has a NEW HORSE! plus the coach is cool becuase it has three NEW HORSES but cant say i love the carige. The camache camp is … Missing the action no badits no hosre just a few scorpions :S

    • admin December 19, 2012, 12:01 PM

Yes, I think the train is going to be a hit. The machine-gun… well, it must be in the movie, so LEGO probably had no choice on that. I also thought the city was quite thin. I have a slight hope that maybe the CUUSOO Western Town will be tacked on as an exclusive for this theme? We should know tomorrow when CUUSOO makes the announcement. 😉

      • The Yellow Ninja December 19, 2012, 2:25 PM

I saw that Idea on the cuusoo website, and I love the techniques that they use!

        • admin December 19, 2012, 3:14 PM

Yeah, I would really like to have that set make it thru CUUSOO. 🙂

      • Micho December 19, 2012, 4:47 PM

        ditto

        • 2x4 Brick December 19, 2012, 7:00 PM

I like the mine too i LOVE the slopes and techniques they use for the rocks. I recently used that technique to make a cave wall at my friends house.

  • NinjaNut December 19, 2012, 12:40 PM

The front of the train is a silver ninjago rice hat!?!?!

    • admin December 19, 2012, 1:03 PM

Yeah, rice-hats are cool. You have something against trains wearing rice-hats? 🙄

      • gid617 December 19, 2012, 5:28 PM

I think it looks a bit funny, but overall… not too bad, I guess!

  • NinjaNut December 19, 2012, 12:42 PM

Cause if you look here it is easy to see it! http://www.festum.de/brickset/temp/lone-ranger-3.jpg

    • 2x4 Brick December 19, 2012, 7:01 PM

i like that the train set has LOTS of mini figures!

  • Legoman640 December 19, 2012, 1:12 PM

Yea,I can see it too! Strange…………

  • Steven December 19, 2012, 3:31 PM

First why is everyone so hung up on the horses ? I’m not a fan of the new style horse and if they wanted to keep more to the older Western theme then they should have used the old style rather than sending them to all the Lego stores brick wall a few months ago when everyone cleaned those bins out within a week. It is busy but rememeber they have to keep to the copy laws on the up coming movie. With that said it is an adequate set, but with Galaxy Squad, TNMT, LOTR & HOBBIT really too many sets at once and that night limit how parents shop. Merry Christmas everyone.

    • gid617 December 19, 2012, 5:46 PM

They probably aren’t really interested in keeping to the old western theme. Why would they be? After all, it’s not even something they came up with; it’s disney’s movie. Personally I think the new horses are much better than the old ones, but I guess it’s a matter of opinion. But I don’t see LEGO producing any more of the old type for any set, really. 😉

  • Gabriel December 19, 2012, 4:24 PM

Tanto’s hatchet is nice. I like the texture on the handle. I also like how the front wheels on the stage coach seem to be able to move independently. Looks like a lot of fun.

What’s disappointing is that the debut poster shows that really cute cow skull piece, but it doesn’t seem to be in any of the sets 🙁 Can anybody else see it? Am I just missing it?

    • admin December 19, 2012, 4:27 PM

Gabriel, the skull is in the mining set. Right on top. Below the Indian guy at the top. You see it? 😉

      • Gabriel December 19, 2012, 5:03 PM

Aha! Well, in that case the minnig set is my favorite! 😀

    • Legoman640 December 20, 2012, 9:25 PM

      Nope. 🙁

  • Strider December 19, 2012, 5:43 PM

I like colby city and the stagecoach. And the big mountain place. But the stagecoach is WAY too pricey. As for colby city I think its a little better. I think the problem is Lego has to pay to copy off Disney. I mean galaxy squad is a lot better then this because Lego made it up.

  • Ninjoey (the lego block head) December 19, 2012, 5:52 PM

    personly, i don’t like cowboys

  • Ninjoey (the lego block head) December 19, 2012, 5:57 PM

oh ya! admin sorry for the long wait but i’m still working on my custom minifigure article.

    • admin December 20, 2012, 1:21 PM

No problem. There are plenty to write about. Just whenever you are ready… 😉

  • Chris of Yoda Archives December 19, 2012, 6:47 PM

That stagecoach is pretty cool. The female minifig is cool as well.

  • Eric at a LEGO a Day December 20, 2012, 10:34 AM

I have mixed feelings about the movie, and was very skeptical of what LEGO might offer, but I have to say these look awesome! Very excited for the train. And the rest of the sets look very robust. They don’t look like the typical LEGO facade approach. And the stage coach is beautiful.

  • The Yellow Ninja December 20, 2012, 11:04 AM

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Modular Western Town cuusooo project didn’t pass because it conflicted with the Lone Ranger! 🙁

    • admin December 20, 2012, 1:16 PM

      Yeah, very sad news. 🙁

  • k December 20, 2012, 5:02 PM

There are some nice pieces in this series, but I’m very disappointed in the lack of generic Indians — by my count, you get a whole tribe of Tontos, but only one chief/medicine man, and one warrior.

I’d much prefer the Commanche camp to have one chief/medicine man, two or three generic Indians (maybe include a female?), and a cavalryman. Same with the cavalry set: make the fourth minifig an Indian, not another Lone Ranger.

The townspeople and bandits are plentiful, though, which is good. And what a great haul of horses! I’m very happy about the brown and black saddles, too.

    • admin December 20, 2012, 8:13 PM

I do agree that the lack of Indians is disappointing. I would have liked a bigger variety also. Especially in the village. Maybe there are not a whole lot of Indians in the movie itself besides Tonto? 😕

  • Cole's Girl December 26, 2012, 4:03 PM

YEAH!!!! The Lone Ranger! 🙂 I CAN’T WAIT!!! 🙂 They look REALLY cool! (:

  • Jesse January 3, 2013, 3:25 PM

I think the sets are going to be epic

  • Jesse January 3, 2013, 3:28 PM

Plus i only have one horse

  • Jesse January 3, 2013, 4:24 PM

    The Lone Ranger is epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Micah January 7, 2013, 8:50 PM

    Yeah they are really cool!

  • cmjsrevihc February 20, 2013, 2:31 PM

I nearly fell off my chair in excitement! Now I hope this also leads to a new LEGO video game.

  • claudia hermosillo June 26, 2013, 10:16 AM

I saw this on TV I got really Ooooo!!! and say I want that, I can’t wait to get that.”
