LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles

by admin on December 27, 2012

in LEGO Star Wars

First revealed in the November-December issue of the LEGO Club Magazine, 2013 will bring an interesting new addition to LEGO Star Wars from our little green friend; Jedi Master Yoda. The title is “The Yoda Chronicles, Secrets to Tell, I Have…”

What the LEGO Star Wars Yoda Chronicles is exactly is not yet known. Is it a TV show? A video game? An online series? Or perhaps all of that and more? There is a mysterious video posted on the LEGO Star Wars website, where Yoda seems to be battling a new threat to the Galaxy…

Apparently the Dark Side is preparing a weapon more powerful than any Jedi has ever faced – and Yoda is quite nervous about it. In his online diary he states: “The power of the Dark Side is growing. Preparing a weapon the Dark Side is. Hopefully, uncover its true nature soon, we will, mmmm! December 29th, reveal exciting news, I will. Promise I do.”

There is also a new book scheduled for 2013 by DK Publishing with the same title, LEGO Star Wars: Yoda Chronicles.  The book is 64 pages and will retail for $18.99. It will also include an exclusive minifigure (most likely a special edition Yoda). Below is the official description along with some images from the book (click picture for larger view):

Relive Yoda’s adventures in the LEGO Star Wars galaxy with this all new format from DK. The first in a brand-new series, LEGO Star Wars: Yoda Chronicles features themed spreads based on the legendary Yoda’s adventures, from his leadership of the Jedi council and his duels with Count Dooku and Darth Sidious, to his support of the Wookiees in the Clone Wars and his training of Luke on Dagobah. Specially commissioned photography shows minifigures and vehicles in action, with tons of storylines and facts that kids will love.

If you would like to keep up with LEGO Star Wars Yoda Chronicles you can visit StarWars.LEGO.com. Here is also a direct link to Yoda’s Blog, where he supposed to be revealing that exciting news he was talking about.

So what do you think Yoda is talking about? And thoughts on what that great threat to the Galaxy is going to be? Any ideas or insights? Feel free to share them in the comment section below! 😉

I had heard that George Lucas sold the rights of starwars to disney. Maybe disney and Lego are working together on a tv show and there will.also be sets? Just an idea.

Yeah, that is correct; George Lucas sold the rights to Disney. So anything can happen!

I remember reading that. I knew the price was something in the billions, but couldn’t remember how much exactly. When numbers get that big my brain gets fuzzy. 😀

It looks like some type of human/robot that was trying to attack Yoda. It looks like it has a robotic arm that can blast some type of laser. Is it just me or did it look like he was going to blast out a lightsaber? 😕

Yeah, I’m also thinking it is some type of a clone or cyborg. But did you see how many more there are in those pods? Like hundreds or thousands! Maybe some kind of a super-clone army with Jedi-like powers. 😕

Yea I realized that too! I saw the whole video and it looks The Emperor,Count Dooku, and General Greivous is involved in it too!

Reply

Karol December 28, 2012 at 10:40 AM

There was no army of super-clones. But there were TWO Force-sensitive clones secretly made. X-1 and X-2.

Karol, thanks for sharing that! Very interesting!

Looking forward to it. Hope it’s a series but guessing just a special. But a new LEGO book featuring Yoda will be cool.

That would be awesome! With Disney buying LEGO I’m sure both the EU stories will expand, and also more movies will come. :)

Sam, yes, the new series was just listed today. I’m planning to get a bunch of them too! :)

I think the threat should be the son or grandson of the infamous Apprentice to Darth Vader. I think because Vader’s apprentice was on of the most power Jedi ever.

Reply

Karol December 28, 2012 at 10:38 AM

The mysterious thing is either X-1 or X-2. They were both Clones with force-like abilities.

Karol December 28, 2012 at 10:41 AM

There is also a chance it could be droid/ human hybrids able to cope with an explosion of a thought bomb. Link for thought bomb: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Thought_bomb

Thanks for the link! I’m not so expert in the EU stories, so it is great to have someone who knows! :)

I bet the yoda chronicles is going to be one of those lego hour long star wars “movies”. They are on cartoon network sometimes.

Reply

ShaBoomGal December 28, 2012 at 8:46 PM

I think this because in the commercial for the yoda chronicles, there is a bunch of goofy things with the star wars legos. I’m not 100% sure.

Reply

ShaBoomGal December 28, 2012 at 8:53 PM

I looked this up, and it says that it broke the timeline because Lando was in this, and he isn’t supposed to be born, so I also think that this isn’t going to be taken seriously.

admin December 29, 2012 at 10:26 AM

Well, LEGO Star Wars mini-movies always have a lot of fun elements and interesting twists. It is not like they are official parts of the Star Wars saga. However they are fun and very popular. :)

There will be a web series for the Yoda Chronicles. It starts on January 5th, 2013. I think the weapon is the clones turning into evil cyborgs. And Count Dooku used an evil experimented crystal to turn the clones evil.

EvanMcLegoMan January 1, 2013 at 8:21 AM

I bet it will be very awesome. And it will be very cool. And I will have a fun time watching. :)

Sadly…I can only get one lego set of 2013 that is $50 or less my mom says so a nd it’s my own money for crying out loud! :(

Reply

admin January 2, 2013 at 10:20 AM

Micah, I can see you are disappointed that you can only spend $50, however I’m sure your mom has your best interest in mind. She probably just wants to make sure you don’t go overboard on just one thing. When you get older and have a job, and after your basic needs are taken care of, you can always get deeper into the hobby and spend more. Actually, you can buy a really nice LEGO set for $50 and keep yourself occupied and do a lot of creative things with it for a while. Have fun! :)

Micah January 3, 2013 at 11:47 AM

Thanks Admin I got multiple lego sets instead of just one so i could make battles with stop motion animation on my 3DS i got Clone Troopers vs. Droidekas and the AT-RT lego set! 😀

Micah January 2, 2013 at 12:04 AM

if it is a web series what website is it on?

Reply

admin January 2, 2013 at 10:18 AM

You mean the Yoda Chronicles? It will have several aspects. A TV show, a book and Yoda will continue updating his blog throughout the year. So if you want to keep updated you would probably want to read the blog first and see what Yoda announces there. :)

Reply

Micah January 2, 2013 at 6:45 PM

The Special can’t be a yoda because their are no pointy ears i bet it is the guy with a robotic arm!

Legoman640 January 3, 2013 at 6:54 PM

Hey guys! Remember that date I said for the Yoda Chronicles to begin? Well,I was wrong. Yoda changed it on his blog! The real date is Friday January 11th. On LEGO.com Star Wars Blog he says:

Unfortunately the date that was earlier posted on the blog regarding the launch of this year’s big story The Yoda Chronicles was not correct. It will launch on Friday January 11th.
However,we have more cool news to tell you now. Throughout the whole year, starting from January 11th you will have access to a new portal filled with weekly updates. This will truly be awesome for all of us!

I was quoting exactly from Yoda’s blog. I’m going to check occasionally going to check Lego.com for more updates.
