June 2015 – new LEGO sets & promotions

There are lots of very exciting new sets and promotions this month, as you will see from the June LEGO Store Calendar. June is traditionally the beginning of summer break, and LEGO wants to make sure you have plenty of new sets to play with. So let’s take a closer look at what they have for us! 🙂

LEGO June Store Calendar Promotions

LEGO MARVEL SUPER HEROES FREE POLYBAG & NEW SET: The main promotion this month is a free exclusive LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Winter Soldier minifigure with purchases of $75 or more. This is awesome news for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes collectors, and fans of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier film from last year. The promotion is valid for the entire month, or while supplies last. Knowing how popular this minifigure is, I would suggest you take advantage of the offer at the beginning of the month, as LEGO may run out of stock. The offer is valid with any purchase, not just LEGO Super Heroes sets, so it should be easy to meet the minimum to qualify getting it. In addition, the #76039 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle set is now available under the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

#76039 LEGO Super Heroes Ant-Man

WIN LEGO DC SUPER HEROES BAT-POD: During the entire month of June LEGO VIP members have a chance to win 1 of the 750 Limited Edition LEGO DC Super Heroes Bat-Pod. This set has been exclusively created for the LEGO VIP program and will not be available for purchase otherwise. To be automatically entered for a chance to win, make a LEGO DC Super Heroes purchase at an official LEGO store or at the Online LEGO Shop. Free email entry is also available during this period. To secure your one permitted entry per day, send an email to enterVIP@LEGO.com stating your name, VIP number and “Bat-Pod” in the subject line. Winners will be announced in mid-July. You can find the LEGO DC Super Heroes sets at the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO STAR WARS FREE POSTER & NEW SETS: You can get a free LEGO Star Wars Collectible Poster with any LEGO Star Wars purchase. This offer is valid June 22-28, or while supplies last. This is the second of the six collectible LEGO Star Wars posters we have talked about before (see: LEGO Star Wars Posters Collection for 2015). If you want to collect them all is a good idea to mark your calendar with the dates when they are available, so you don’t miss out. There are several new LEGO Star Wars sets this month: the #75091 LEGO Star Wars Flash Speeder, the #75093 LEGO Star Wars Death Star Final Duel, the #75094 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Tydirium, the #75106 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Assault Carrier, and the #75092 LEGO Star Wars Naboo Starfighter. Also, don’t forget about the #75095 LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series TIE Fighter that was released just last month. You can find all the new sets under the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

#75106 LEGO Star Wars

LEGO JURASSIC WORLD DOUBLE VIP POINTS: LEGO VIP members can earn double VIP Points on two of the new LEGO Jurassic World sets during the entire month of June; the #75917 LEGO Jurassic World Raptor Rampage, and the #75918 LEGO Jurassic World T. Rex Tracker. You can find them both, along with the other new sets in this theme, under the LEGO Jurassic World section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO CREATOR FERRIS WHEEL: The #10247 LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel is now available for everyone, not just LEGO VIP members. This is a beautiful set we have talked about previously (see links at the end of this post). If you would like to expand your LEGO City diorama, or if you want to have an impressive standalone display-piece in your home or office, the LEGO Creator Ferris Wheel will not disappoint. This is also an excellent purchase if you are into investing in LEGO. Also, remember that you can motorize the set, if you want to. You can get it under the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2015 LEGO CREATOR SUMMER SETS: There are other new LEGO Creator sets worth taking a look at.  They are all 3-in-1 sets, meaning each set has three sets of instructions for three different models. The sets are as follows: #31039 LEGO Creator Power Jet, #31038 LEGO Creator Changing Seasons, and #31037 LEGO Creator Adventure Vehicles. You can find them all under the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.

2015 LEGO CITY SUMMER SETS: The highly anticipated #60097 LEGO City Square set is now available. This very large set includes a LEGO store, a car dealership, three cars, a tow truck, a LEGO truck , a helicopter, a tram with a tram stop, a coffee shop, and 14 minifigures. Also, don’t forget about the new LEGO City Deep Sea Explorer and LEGO City Space sets we talked about just the other day (see links at the end of this post). They are all available under the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.

#60097 LEGO City Square

2015 LEGO ULTRA AGENTS SUMMER SETS: These sets officially supposed to be released this month, but since they were listed a couple of weeks early we have already talked about them extensively (see links at the end of this post). The point is that there are three awesome new sets; the #710171 LEGO Ultra Agents Ultrasonic Showdown, the #70172 LEGO Ultra Agents AntiMatter’s Portal Hideout, and the #70173 LEGO Ultra Agents Ocean HQ. You can find all of them under the LEGO Ultra Agents section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2015 LEGO Summer Ultra Agents Sets

2015 LEGO LEGENDS OF CHIMA SUMMER SETS: This was another theme where the new sets were released a bit early, although the official release is this month. We have talked about them before, but it is worth to note that these are the last sets before the theme gets retired. The new sets are: #70227 LEGO Legends of Chima King Crominus’ Rescue, #70226 LEGO Legends of Chima Mammoth’s Frozen Stronghold, and #70225 LEGO Legends of Chima Bladvic’s Rumble Bear. You can find them all under the LEGO Legends of Chima section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2015 LEGO Summer Chima Sets

2015 LEGO MIXELS SUMMER SETS: Series 5 of LEGO Mixels is now available, with three characters in three tribes for a total of nine new sets. While the characters themselves are cute and creative themselves, most LEGO fans get these because of the excellent selection of new and unusual elements and rare colors. Each sets is only $5, so it is easy to collect them all. They are available under the LEGO Mixels section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO Mixels Series 5

2015 LEGO ARCHITECTURE SUMMER SET: The #21023 LEGO Architecture Flatiron Building is now available. This set is under the LEGO Architecture Landmark Series, and features the iconic Renaissance-style, wedge-shaped skyscraper in New York. It is available under the LEGO Architecture section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop LEGO Architecture

FREE TICKET TO LEGOLAND: If you are planning to visit a LEGOLAND Park this summer, you can get a free LEGOLAND ticket with any LEGO purchase this entire month both at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop. This is an excellent way to save money on your trip. I highly recommend visiting a LEGOLAND Park at least once in your life. Although they are primarily designed for kids, adults can also enjoy the displays and the stores. Just keep in mind that your LEGO VIP card won’t work in LEGOLAND stores (neither for accumulating nor for redeeming points) as LEGOLAND is operated by Merlin Entertainment.

LEGO June Store Calendar Specials

So as you can see, there are tons of new sets to choose from this month, along with many promotions you can take advantage of. In addition, if you live close to a LEGO store, you can participate in local events as well. There are two LEGO Club meetings on June 20th and 27th, the LEGO Monthly Mini Model Build is a cute parrot, and from June 15-17 there is a LEGO DC Super Heroes Super Jumper competition. You can find the full list of events in the calendar below.

Also, in addition to the above mentioned promotions, don’t forget about other exciting new sets that were released recently, including LEGO Pirates, and LEGO Speed Champions. And if you are shopping online, it is worth taking a look at the Sales & Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop before you check out. There are some nice sets there with a good discount, and likely more will be added as they get retired.

Wow! So much new stuff! The City Square is amazing! Will you guys review it separately?

    • admin June 1, 2015, 11:49 AM

Yes, we will do a full review of City Square on Thursday, so stay tuned. 😉

  • VirtualMirage June 1, 2015, 11:43 AM

I saw the City Square at the Lego store in Downtown Disney a few weeks ago along with the other new City sets (space and underwater). As much as I wanted the City Square, the Mrs. said no, especially given its $190 price tag (IIRC). I guess that’s ok, for now. I am still busy building a MOC Lego Pub that the wife wants in our town.

Also, after that is done I will be keeping myself busy with the Simpson’s Kwik E Mart my stepdad bought me while we were at Legoland. My wife wasn’t exactly thrilled when she saw that in my bag since she claims it doesn’t fit our town’s look (but I really like it). But my stepdad considers himself an enabler, or instigator depending on your view, decided to get it for me as a late birthday gift. They also had the series 2 Simpson minifigs which I was able to score a Groundskeeper Willy and Professor Fink (which I had to fondle many minifig packs to find).

Since they had a bunch of new stuff the web store didn’t even have, I was hoping to see a new seasonal vignette set but I didn’t see any. Any updates on when we might see that Lego store vignette set?

Nice! Looks like you are going to be busy for a while with all those projects! Strangely, there has been no update on the #40145 LEGO Brand Retail Store. I have also checked eBay and BrickLink. There are a couple of sellers who assembled the set from pictures and selling them for outrageous prices. As far as the real set, there are only two of them listed by European sellers for even more outrageous prices. So yeah, it seems like it haven’t hit the market yet anywhere.

      • VirtualMirage June 1, 2015, 12:42 PM

Good to know. I did see posted elsewhere that a new birthday vignette should be available soon, currently available in Europe.

        • admin June 1, 2015, 12:53 PM

Are you talking about the #40153 Birthday Cake? That set is already available in the USA. Here is the link: #40153 LEGO Birthday Cake

Yes! That one. I wonder if it just got added because I went looking for it a few days ago and it was not on their site, and I looked by both seasonal and set number.

            • admin June 1, 2015, 2:28 PM

It was added today with the other new summer sets. 😉

  • Lanyip June 2, 2015, 7:59 AM

Does anyone know why some of the new line of sets are available in markets like the UK, but not the US? Specifically, the new Ninjago sets? I am really excited about them and was waiting patiently for June 1, but they aren’t yet out in the US lego store.

    • BLProductions June 2, 2015, 9:50 AM

For some reason, of late the UK and Europe have gotten some themes released ahead of the US. As far as I know, the summer wave of Ninjago sets are going to be released on August 1 in the US. So an extra two months to wait. 🙁

      • Lanyip June 2, 2015, 11:56 AM

Thanks for the reply. That is useful to know. I was hoping sooner as it seems some of the big U.S. reviewers already got hold of them somehow.

        • admin June 2, 2015, 12:05 PM

A lot of LEGO reviewers on YouTube get the sets early on eBay from international sellers. Even with the higher prices and international shipping, it is worth it for them because the amount of money they make through their YouTube channels.

Wow. LEGO has a great lineup for summer sets this year. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to keep up with the latest news. Now that school’s basically done, I’m flooded with new sets.

    • admin June 3, 2015, 8:54 AM

That’s awesome! They will keep you busy in the summer! 😀
