As you probably know already, I’m a big fan of BrickForge for their custom LEGO elements. Their variety, quality, and color selection of custom LEGO items is really unmatched. Many LEGO customizers make things like weapons (mostly firearms), but BrickForge has everything. Yes, they do have a huge variety of firearms, bladed weapons (both life-like and from fantasy realms), but also helmets, armor pieces, everyday tools and accessories, LEGO compatible animals and more!
I regularly shop at BrickForge when I work on various LEGO projects. Just a week ago I ordered a bunch of their test-tubes as I found them to be really useful little plugs that can nicely finish off a LEGO model or work as connectors between small parts.
Before I ordered I learned at BrickForge’s flickr gallery that Armothe (who runs BrickForge) is really in his creative mood and has been drawing minifigures on receipts – all you have to do is ask. In case you didn’t know, Armothe is a wonderful artist with mad drawing skills (check out the amazing knight below he drew on someone’s receipt).
So when I placed my order I figured it is worth to ask that Armothe draws me something too. The worse that could happen is that my request will be ignored. But it wasn’t. When I opened my package I found this awesome ninja (if you are a Ninjago fan you know which ninja he is) on my receipt. The details and shading on this little guy are amazing. It is even better in real life than what you see on the picture. I also noticed that Armothe has a really light hand; this is a pencil drawing and you can barely notice one or two lines at the back of the paper. I know when I draw I tend to press through the paper. Anyway, it is always nice to see the artwork of talented people. I know I will treasure this drawing and keep it safe. I always admired Armothe’s artistic skills and it is nice to have something one-of-a-kind from him.
I’m not sure how long Armothe is going to remain inspired to draw on receipts, and he probably can’t do it on every single one even if he would want to, but if you would like to receive a super special custom artwork from him, it doesn’t hurt to ask the next time you place an order from BrickForge. Recently they also added more printed items (I highly recommend these; they are beautiful), and they are also running some special deals. You can visit their online store here: BrickForge Online Shop
What do you think? How do you like the ninja drawing I got from Armothe? And what about the other drawings? Are you thinking about requesting a drawing with your order too? What would it be? Feel free to share in the comment section below!

Nice Drawing! that looks great!
Thats really cool! I might order something…just for the drawing 😛
On another note, I’ve just finished setting up my wiki (en.starbricks.t15.org). It’s basically a place for LEGO fans to post stories, RP’s and just chat. Its powered by MediaWiki which also powers Wikipedia and Brickimedia.
Please check it out 🙂

Sory, forgot Http://
Hey, LK! I’ve been meaning to tell you, for some reason I can’t connect to the new wiki! I’m not sure what is going on… D;
Try now 🙂
I’ve switched host.
Wow, great drawing! (“Burps are pieces too,” on the protestors sign was so funny :D.)
Yeah, I thought that was funny too. That’s why I added the picture. 😛
I love that knight! I wonder how long it took him to draw them.
Wow! I definitely know who that ninja is! What a great artist. 😀 I don’t think I can order online, so I can’t get anything, though there are some pieces there I want to get. 🙁
Also, check out the Brickset home page, there’s a lot of cool stuff posted today. 😉
I wish I could draw like that! I tend to press really hard on the paper too. 🙂
that knight is epic!
that’s so nice of him to draw those for people!
How do you ask for a picture? In the blog or comments section?
I have asked in the comment section of my payment. I figured that would be the easiest as they would have it right there with my order. 😉
Okay, thanks! Here’s my list of stuff I want to get:
Centaur-scout, Arrows-dark bluish gray, Violin-reddish brown, ninjato-silver, x2 shuriken-silver, and light trans green splat. Is there anything else you would recommend? (besides accessory packs)
That’s nice! I love the Centaurs and have all the different prints. The arrows, violin, ninjato and shuriken are all good choices. And I really like the splat. What else to get really depends on what you like to build.
As I mentioned in the article I just discovered how useful the little viles are as connectors and plugs (they fit inside standard LEGO holes). I also like their various light-saber blades – especially the pulsing one. Oh, and if you like, get yourself some mushrooms! They are some of my most favorite items from BrickForge and come in many different designs. They are very cute. 🙂
Thanks for the tips! I’ll try to incorporate those into my purchase… I plan on getting a green ninja picture. Also, someone requested a powered assault commando eating an ice cream cone! The picture is kind of funny.
LOL! That’s funny! I just checked out that picture. It was not drawn by Armothe but one of the BF employees, but it is still very fun. 😛
I just placed my first order from Brickforge. So excited!
Cool drawings!!! They have a lot of stuff I’d like to get. I’m not as much into the weapons and stuff so I like a lot of their non weapon items. Haven’t picked anything up yet but I have plans for stuff. Was just looking at the golf club item, would love to make a miniature golf course.
Kim, that’s a nice idea. I do have some of their golf-clubs and they are very nice. Also, I recommend you get yourself some bottles. There are several designs and they are very useful. 🙂
That drawing of Techno Cole is amazing. If any ninjago fan wants to see a bit of episode 31 check out my YouTube Channel: Ninjago Crafter
I am quite a good artist myself, but he is better by so many levels! Too bad I’m not allowed to get LEGO pieces and things like that online (or wherever else, no LEGO Stores near me:()
Thanks for the kind comments, and the spotlight!
Drawing is a way for me to keep things fun. It’s easy to get lost in the doldrums of day-to-day business here at the Forge. First and foremost I’m an artist – and a huge fan of LEGO. You’ll see me at the library leading workshops for kids or at LEGO fan events displaying MOCs. I enjoy being involved in the community, not just sitting behind a computer counting how many accessories I sell each day.
Nice to have you over, Armothe! I really appreciate all you do! I placed my first order with you guys on the old website years ago when you only had a few items. But even then it helped me out so much with my projects. And now you guys are practially running a whole mall for minifigs! 😀
A quick not here since this is the most recent custom brick post. Five Below has Brick Warrior’s warrior Packs wave 2 for $3. It’s a bag of minifig accessories. Plus there’s a coupon code for the brickwarriors web site. Mine was for six free items. The code is only good till the end of June.
Oh, that’s nice! We don’t have any Five Below locations in Florida, but I know many other states do have them, so yeah, it is worth checking them out! 🙂
My order from Brickforge just came in! I got some extra free accessories, and a really cool picture of an elf! The extra free stuff was elf armor, so I think it was not entirely coincidental…
