Small & fun LEGO sets for the holidays!

Traditionally LEGO releases various sets for the holiday season. We have talked about the large holiday sets like the LEGO Winter Village series and the LEGO Advent Calendars (see links at the end of this post), and today I would like to cover the small holiday sets. These are fun little sets for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas that works great as small gift for family and friends, decorations for the holidays, or stocking-stuffers for Christmas. All of these sets are less than $10, so they are affordable too! 🙂

LEGO HALLOWEEN SETS: There are two Halloween related LEGO sets this year; one that is simply called the #850936 LEGO Halloween Set with a vampire minifig, a spooky casket, and a red spider. The decorations on all of them are great. This set only costs $8. The second Halloween set is the #40090 LEGO Halloween Bat. This is a particularly cute set with a brick-built chubby black bat and a pumpkin. This set is only $10.

LEGO THANSGIVING SET: There is only one small set for Thanksgiving this year, the #40091 LEGO Thanksgiving Turkey. This is another cute brick-built creature. I actually really like these brick-built animals; they not only make great decorations or gift, but they also provide excellent ways to learn new building techniques. Building animals – especially cute and fluffy ones – from square and rigid LEGO bricks is not an easy task, so there is some educational value here too!

LEGO CHRISTMAS SETS: Traditionally this is where you will find the largest selection, and this year is no exception. I think the cutest ones are the #40092 LEGO Reindeer and the #40093 LEGO Snowman – two other brick-built creatures for $10 each. Then there are a bunch of globes with small LEGO creations inside. These can work as Christmas tree decorations as well as small gifts. Most of them are very creative and include some nice LEGO elements. They are $8 each, or you can get the whole collection for $48. You can find them all under the Seasonal Section of the Online LEGO Shop.

And that wraps up the small LEGO holiday sets for this year. There is something for each holiday to brighten up your day. You might also want to try to make your own LEGO holiday decorations (see links at the end of this post for ideas and building instructions). And if you are interested in the larger holiday sets, you can check out the LEGO Advent Calendars and the LEGO Christmas Village sets at the Online LEGO Shop.

So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO holiday sets? Do you like to use them as gifts or as decorations for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas? Do you buy the ones LEGO provides or do you make your own? Feel free to share your own ideas and creations below! 😉

Pretty nice sets, but it’s seems like more of the same, as usual.
Off-topic, but I watched episode (I think) 21, or whatever the latest episode is. I can make out quite a few things from these about 2015 Chima. And I will say Spoiler Alert for those who don’t want to know. Anyways, Tormac turns black, because the Artifact left Phoenix territory. So now he’s black. Also, the main characters like Laval have wings in next year’s sets, and I believe those are the “Fire Harnesses” mentioned in the episode. No sign of Flinx’s Fire thing, though. OK, just thought I’d update you. 😉

I felt that these holiday sets were actually better than normal. The brick-built creatures are quite sophisitcated and very cute. More than what we normally get. As far as Chima, I really should watch the most recent episodes, otherwise I’m starting to loose touch. 😕

I just picked up the Exo-Suit on Amazon for $34.95. So excited!!!!! This totally makes up for paying 3x the price of the Research Institute!!!!

I hope I’m going to get the Exo-Suit for Christmas, it seems like a set I need! I love building mechs, my favourite type of set.

Oh, nice! I’m glad you were able to get it! I also got two from Amazon, so now I have three in total. I always wanted three! 😛

These look kinda better than last time, but basically what we get each year. I like the globes, though. Are they large, so the sets inside are actually brick-built, or are they just small with the set as a picture?

Yes, as I mention in the article, the globes have a small set inside. That’s the fun part. 😉

    Great article!

I really like the baubles with the models inside.
I also saw some similar baubles, only with bricks inside.

Yes, those are available as well – the baubles with just bricks. I just didn’t know where to put the picture in the article. 😛
