The fourth wave of LEGO Dimensions Packs have been released this month. If you play the LEGO Dimensions game the packs will open up new opportunities for you within the game, and if you collect the packs just for the minifigures and other accessories, this wave is particularly interesting. 🙂
The four LEGO Dimensions Packs released in Wave 4 are as follows: #71233 Ghostbusters Stay Puft Fun Pack, #71234 Midway Arcade Level Pack, #71236 DC Comics Super Heroes Superman Fun Pack, and #71237 DC Comics Super Heroes Aquaman Fun Pack.
From a collector’s perspective, there are two sets that are particularly interesting in this release. The #71233 Ghostbusters Stay Puft Fun Pack includes an exclusive LEGO Stay Puft Marshmallow Man minifigure, and a really well designed brick-built Terror Dog with great articulation. And the #71234 Midway Arcade Level Pack includes a gamer minifigure with exclusive torso print, and a really sweet arcade-machine with all printed elements! Yep, those are not stickers but prints on the arcade-machine! 😀
The #71236 DC Comics Super Heroes Superman Fun Pack and #71237 DC Comics Super Heroes Aquaman Fun Pack, come with minifigures that have been released previously, but the little vehicles included are quite nice, so you may still consider picking them up.
Below is a video play-list with reviews of all the new LEGO Dimensions Packs, so you can see them in detail, including the minifigures and the various accessories.
LEGO Dimensions Level Packs are normally $24.99 and the LEGO Dimensions Fun Packs are $14.99, however most of them are available at half price, which makes them much more reasonable for both gamers and collectors. Both newly released and previous LEGO Dimensions Packs are available directly from LEGO, but they only have the older packs on sale at this point: LEGO DIMENSIONS AT THE ONLINE LEGO SHOP
Amazon has a very helpful dedicated page just for LEGO Dimensions, where you can find all versions of the Starter Pack for different gaming systems, and all the Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs (add-on packs work with all systems). Amazon has all the packs on sale, including the new ones, so you usually get a better deal, plus you can combine your purchase with non-LEGO items: LEGO DIMENSIONS ON AMAZON
So what do you think? How do you like the new LEGO Dimensions Packs? Are you planning to pick up any of them? Do you play the game, or do you only collect the unique minifigs and accessories? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

Love that arcade game! Especially that the graphics are printed! And the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is a must! Thanks for the heads up.
Defender’s an actual arcade game from the early 80’s. I wonder whether the licence was cheap or some of the designers were old fans…
I haven’t really gotten the in-game mechanics of this set, though… Is the shtick that you are able to play Defender in-game? Some other actual 80’s games?
Not sure about that. I’m pretty sure there are going to be some in-game reviews on YouTube where we can see what the pack opens up.
I picked up the Stay Puft Marshmallow man fun pack over the weekend at Target. It was the last one they had left on the shelf and the last day they were running a Target Cartwheel promo which discounted all Fun Packs by 50%. So 50% off plus an additional 5% off using my Target Red card made the purchase a steal.
The minifigure really is excellent and the terror dog is surprisingly detailed considering the “relatively simple” brick build it derives from. They will go great with my Ecto-1 and GB HQ.
I would have gotten the gamer pack too, but the 50% off discount didn’t apply to those kind of packs.
Shame they haven’t decided to release this game onto the Apple TV like Disney did with their Disney Infinity. Since the only console I own is an old Wii, I don’t intend on buying anything else for it but I do use my Apple TV quite a bit. I would buy the Lego Dimensions for my Apple TV if it was made available. Until then, I will just collect the packs for the unique minifigures.
Love these sets, except that even at 50% off, they seem a little pricey (considering I don’t play the video game). Great minifigs and printed pieces, though.
